Really crushed the sub-32 goal.
The basics are: no deaths, no missed Challenge Stages (the points are worth too much time). Possibly 1 could be missed and points could be made up with very good tribugs.
One of the tricks to this run is that you have to get a certain amount of points, but you don't have to get too many points and there's a time tradeoff for getting them. This run is based off having around 380,000+ at the end of Challenge Stage 8 (cycle 1, Stage 32), having around 830,000 at the end of CS8 on cycle 2 (Stage 64). This will allow you to end during CS3 on cycle 3. You ideally want to end as close to a million as possible during the 10,000 bonus at the end. I missed by about 1000 points and had to spend a couple seconds on the next stage, but that's still pretty good. (edit: now that I've lost the record, it was the difference between losing it and not)
Tribugs: only get the scorpions if they've already come out, or if you need to recover points to reach the benchmarks above and avoid bigger time losses. My patterns make it very easy to kill them before they spawn and usually its a net positive. At this time, you about average 529pts/sec, and it takes at least 2 seconds for the bugs to spawn and get shot. Green bomber tribugs are very tricky to get efficiently without losing time, but you need to get at least some of them to get the million on Stage 75. And the flagship tribugs you need to try to maximize, they're the easiest and easiest to get fast. You can even take a couple seconds to get them. because 3000 points is worth about 6 seconds.
There's lots of other stuff and this can definitely go sub-31, though I don't think sub-30 will be humanly possible. There are faster patterns for Challenge Stages, but they're risky because missing one is likely Game Over. There is the ability to customize patterns to each level, as they change a little bit based on which bugs dive. Maybe some day. And of course, the CS8 WR is about 35 seconds faster at that split, you can take that start and run it out.
