Joseph is without doubt torn to pieces." 34 Then Jacob(❤ ) tore his garments and put sackcloth on his loins and mourned for his son many days. 35 All his sons and all his daughters rose up to comfort him, but he refused to be comforted and said, " No, I shall go down to Sheol to my son, mourning." Genesis 38:6-11 "6 And Judah took a wife for Er his firstborn, and hee name was Tamar. 7 But Er, Judah's firstborn, was a wicked in the sight of the LORD😊❤, and the LORD😊❤ put him to death. 8 Then Judah said to Onan, " Go in to your brother's wife and perform the duty of a brother- in -law to her, and raise up offspring for your brother." 9 Onan knew that the offspring would not be his. So whevever he went in to his brother's wife he would waste the semen on the ground, so as not to give offspring to his brother. 10 And what he did was wicked in the sight of the LORD, and he put him to death also. 11 Then Judah said to Tamar his daughter- in- law, " Remain a widow in your father's house, till Shelah my son grows up"- for he feared that he would die, like his brothers. The reference to Er's( Er was wicked God's sight) death it tantalizingly brief( from Genesis 38:7 "7 But Er, Judah's firstborn, was a wicked in the sight of the LORD😊❤, and the LORD😊❤ put him to death."( Genesis 38:7 ESV Study Bible)"( ESV Study Bible) ( Imagine one to two Scriptures describe Er, i am not talking the Television series Er but i am talking wicked Er, "...the LORD ( God ) put him to death."( Genesis 38:7 b ESV Study Bible. ( answer is Genesis 24:3; Genesis 26:34-35; Genesis 28:1 last time shared already so today hope you read your own Bible in Christ to refresh yourself on this.) " In Genesis 38:9, "( But) Onan( 2nd son of Judah) knew that the offspring would not be his. ..."(from Genesis 38:9a ESV Study Bible) So from Genesis 38:9a " While publicly Onan appear to fulfill his father( Judah)'s request, in private he( Onan) refuses to father a child on behalf of Er.( the Bible said"... He would waste the semen( sperm) on the ground."(from Genesis 38:9 middle of the verse). Onan engages in coitus interruptus, not self- gratification- as some early rabbi mistakenly thought. A detailed explanation for his( wicked) action is not given, but selfishless is most likely explanation: he( Onan) probably feards that a son born to Tamar would be previlege over all other sons born to him, reducing the importance of his own family line and reducing his share of Judah❤'s inheritance. ( Although the circumstances are different, Ruth 4:5-6( under the context of Ruth 4:1-12( Boaz😊❤ redeems Ruth😊❤) provide another example of a man ( Boaz was not Ruth 's first redeemer but Boaz :) was righteous and got permission from that redeemer who)refusing to undertake the duty of levirate marriage.)"( ESV Study Bible . Boaz on the other hand did right in God's sight asked for the first redeemer who refused to redeem Ruth and got permission to Ruth 😊❤ from the Bible ( please read Ruth 4:1-12 under the context of Ruth 4:1-12( Boaz😊❤ redeems Ruth😊❤) Now share Ruth 4:5-6 " Then Boaz😊❤( " Boaz" was a righteous😊❤ man of God😊100%❤ the Bible said) said, " The day you buy the field from the hand of Naomai😊❤, you also aquire Ruth😊❤ the Moabite, the widow of the dead, in order to perpetuate the namd of the dead in his inheritance." 6 Then the redeemer said, " I cannot redeem it for myself, lest I repair my own inheritance. Let us finish Genesis 38:11 too , my ESV Study Bible said, " In Genesis 38:11, "Following the death of his( Judah's) two eldest sons( 1st son Er( Genesis 38:7b and 2nd son Onan( Genesis 38:10b), Judah protects his remaining son, " Shelah"( from Genesis 38:11 middle of the Scripture), by sending Tamar back to her own family( her father) as if she was dangerous, while it was actually the evil of the two sons( Er ( Genesis 38:7a) and Onan( Genesis 38:10a) that brought about their deaths."( ESV Study Bible) I also remember two persons ( like Er and Onan) like that from the past.
