Galaxy A54 vs Poco F5 Speed Test - Let's find out how much of a difference in performance for these similar-priced phones! Share your thoughts, questions, and comments, and enjoy the content!
Poco F5 in the video seems to be running in the performance mode. Please verify and make sure that the Samsung is running in a comparable state as well.
I hate when people justify lags on samsungs A series by saying that these are cheap phones, when these phones are not cheap compared to xiaomi or used flagship phones which at the same or lower price will work perfectly without lags
Exactly as you said, that has always been my biggest problem with Samsung's A series phones or maybe Samsung is general. Only S series phones get the best and the other get absolutely nothing. Comparing these phones and taking their price tags into consideration, Poco (Xiaomi) totally nails it.
Samsung should really optimize the UI in midrange phones. Not necessarily keep all apps in the background open but at least don't be so laggy, Google with the pixel 7a at around the same price is much smoother
@shaaz... I got the A52s with snapdragon chipset and animations sometimes are laggy, it's not the processor, it's samsung's fault as they don't optimize One UI
Some Chinese manufacturers offer great specs for price, they've mastered it alright. Now if only they can become as consistent in the software department. Android 14 is in the view, yet there are relatively recent phones that hasn't even got Android 13 yet. The only thing that keeps Samsung on top is their long and RELIABLE software support.
@timeholder4068 "Just get a cistom ROM" >Not the best solution. >Not as stable >problem with updates >not all features work, sometimes >for some people, it is pretty complicated to install A custom ROM should be an option, not the go-to solution.
@@justsomeguywithgreenhair the thing with updates is actually an advantage with custom roms, especially with security updates. and with enough time they could be even more stable than memeui which is known for being buggy
@@justsomeguywithgreenhairbut, the problem is, software updates will never improve the performance of your phone, maybe it will open the thermal limit, but it will get hot easily.
Motherboard problem only occurs on a one specific budget Xiaomi phone, whereas Samsung is notorious for their green line screen problem across a variety of their FLAGSHIP Galaxy S-series devices, starting from the S20 series.
Great video. This is exactly why I will never trust Exynos. It baffles when people like MKBHD crib about the Pixel 6A's 60hz refresh rate, while at the same time, saying that the A53 is a better phone than the 6A. Exynos phones are a laggy, buggy mess, at a higher price even when being at 120Hz. Ridiculous.
@@atrik1st716 Same as my Zenfone 9. Literally once it gets Android 14 it's done, but I have no issues with that cos I could go with a custom ROM and that's it, or stay in A14 till it has no support from other apps.
@@atrik1st716As opposed to 5 years of support, but cannot even make it past 3 years because of how terrible the phone generally performs with its low-end hardware.
I don't know why you guys disagree. He's right. If you can't afford Samsung flagship get a different brand. Heck, in my country this a54 and the red magic 6r cost around the same. I don't think I need to explain how much of a scam an exynos Samsung is. You'd have to be really "smart" to buy a non flagship exynos Samsung 💀
they bragging about samsung 5years android update, but lets be honest you not buying this phone and use it for five years or more, maybe 2percent of the world population uses phone for about 5years but in general, us people seek for new devices every year
@@defigaming9996so far my only issue is that I haven't been able to get the MI unlock tool to connect to the phone 😢 besides that the phone got warm with average usage (web browsing, WhatsApp, RU-vid, no calls video) in the beginning but after a few charging cycles it's stopped happening. Battery and performance is insane. I'm sitting at 3.5 hrs SOT and 71% charge.
If you can buy the Xiaomi 13 Pro for comparison, that would be great because in Chinese user testing, the smoothness and gaming performance have surpassed the iPhone 14 Pro. Additionally, I can tell you that Samsung's market share in China is only a pitiful 1% because there are many phones in China that are better and cheaper than Samsung😂
I don't know why when people make these reviews, they don't take into consideration that release prices of Samsung are always stupidly high, and get quite a lot lower over time. This is an important distinction. In any case, I would like more to see a comparisson about basically any other feature which isn't the one anybody can easily understand without even using the phone, such as performance. Like yeah, the SD 7 Gen 2 scores twice as much on synthetic benchmarks and is a lot faster, that is quite obvious, nothing happened that we didn't expect already. It would be much more interesting to showcase the cameras, video, sound, screen, etc. Just a thought.
Once I visited a Samsung service center complaining about the lagging of my Samsung phone. The service guy checked my phone and told me due to 'Candy crush' App installed on the phone the phone was lagging. I immediately got out of that service center.
I change my phone every year too, but always buy 2nd used phone Samsung Note10+, Vivo X50 Pro, Iphone 12 Pro, Vivo X70, Huawei P50 Pro and now Iphone 13 Pro
You're seeing a recording of both phones, in reality they all expel blue light, is just part of the display technologies we use. There are settings that help alleviate it, in Poco is called reading mode I believe. Sometimes it's called night mode (different from dark mode). It's still not perfect.
My Mi 9T is still alive and plenty fast now, i think the A50 was the competitor that time for the same price. The build quality is miles ahead, mi 9t feels premium compared to the cheap plastic feel of the a50. That samsung has exynos too and just a year later, my friend who owns it felt how the performance degraded already so he sold it.
@@senthitharsan8822El problema de las placas base está resuelto en esta generación, además paso en la India, y fue hace dos meses, está más que resuelto.
Poco is better in build quality (glass back vs Samsung's cheap plastic), performace, aimations, smoothness, gaming, ram management, and most important for all people with healthy mind.. it's cheaper.. so yeah, it's a clever choice
Much as I appreciate having a faster finger print reader in my phone, I don't mind having a phone with a slightly slower (less than 1 second) fingerprint reader because I'm not that in a hurry always to unlock my phone 😊😊 Really, I love using a phone with a very fast fingerprint reader but a slightly slower (we're talking about less than 1 second, perhaps 1/10th of a second or even less) reader does not really matter
There may be times that a slow-scanning fingerprint scanner can be irritating though. And even if it's not the case, the fact that an in-display fingerprint scanner adds up to the total cost of the phone for doing basically the same exact function as a physical fingerprint scanner at a slower pace really makes it an absurd idea altogether. Not to mention that having an in-display fingerprint scanner means you can no longer put a protective tempered glass screen protector on the screen because the fingerprint scanner will no longer be able to read your fingerprint when there's a protective glass layer on top.
Here in mexico m54 8/128 costs 539 dollars and poco f5 pro 12/512 costs 513 just because its samsung that dosent mean is the best specially with lagxynos at least they should use Snapdragon for this price
now guess which one has better display, better cameras, ip67,better battery, better software with 4 or 5 years of upgrades , not everyone buys a phone for gaming
I think probably hear the people know what are the conditions of the motherboard of the Poco phones if we don't talk about the performance and if you talk about the lifeline of this phones the so the Samsung will be the best option because it will live lifelong
It's not all about the speed what about the camera, ui and software updates? but yes it's a speed comparison. It still bothered me why poco f5 series has low cost also I heard that they used Chinese oled and not sony sensor but in performance it's flagship grade.
You're right, but they're not aimed at the same audience, plus the POCO installing a GCAM solves the problem. Regarding the MIUI software, it is not the best option, but the bootloader is unlocked and you can opt for more optimized AOSP ROMs with fewer bugs than MIUI.
at least you should have compared it with a 8Gb model, you cant open asphalt and cod at the same time and expect it to not reload on 6gb of ram, I am pretty sure it wont reload if you opened all the other apps at the same time without opening these two games, I still don't know how apple does it with the IOS
That means, for the same price, Poco gives us 12GB RAM while Samsung could only offer half as much. Yeah sure, RAM isn't everything, but that's clearly evident here with the A54 being too choppy and laggy for way too much for something that costs this much in 2023, when even mid-rangers from 2 years ago of the same price range were already performing silky-smooth.
@@troy5568 yeah i like xiaomi/poco for that but Samsung in this price range doesn’t focus on performance but on other aspect like camera and a clean design, they use performance to make a difference between their mid-phones and their high-end ones
The screen looks a lot brighter on the poco f5 in this video, the A54 looks a little washed out in comparison. I was torn between these but seeing the performance on the F5 compared to the a54 it’s a no brainier
Lagging choppy slow ui, very lagging if u open multitask apps at the same time, 4 years update 😂, can't imagine next update android are getting heavier
Its just like, samsung is slower coz he's not in a hurry and will last for more than 10years or more even its RAM and ROM are in 5% left due to heavy usage😂. Proud User here!
@ShaferHart It is. Videos shutter in RU-vid and some lags in switching applications. This is supposed to be a flagship device but it seems like a low end phone. Exynos 2200 is the worst chip I ever had
Samsung does not support custom roms. Poco does and no matter what you say about the Samsung ecosystem, once you use custom roms you'd know for sure most stock roms out there are utter sewage with Samsung at the top.
@@ariefhidayat2157 now I want to ask you, is your cellphone capable of running genshin on high graphics and getting 30-40 FPS like my Galaxy S10+? 😁 just asking
In screen fingerprint sensors are overrated imo. They are either too low or too high. I wish manufacturers would eother stick with the power button or bring back the rear sensor.
It's extremely overrated in that it adds cost to the device but brings nothing new or better than proven and tested and reliable physical fingerprint scanners, and also prohibiting you from installing tempered glass screen protector.
I have used xiaomi redmi note 10 pro, xiaomi mi 10t.. from my experience xiaomi is not a reliable in their software experience.. buggy..no changes since miui 12-14.. now i just change my mind..i choose samsung..and i am not regretting my choice..
I used the redmi note 10 pro, hated that phone. Now currently using the redmi note 12 pro 5G and I love it. Redmi and poco have definitely gotten better and more reliable over the years.
That's right because 1380 is so outdated (even if it's only 1 month old) that it's even weaker than SD 778G and that's a midrange chipset from exactly 2 years ago.
im seeing people talking about the pocos motherboard... im about to buy this phone in 2 weeks for gaming but im kinda concerned now... can someone tell me why are people talking about it?? ik the performance is top tier but still
Only the Poco X3 was affected. Amongst other Poco devices that never had such problems, you definitely have nothing to worry about, for as long as you don't get that particular model that has that particular issue. And when it comes to Samsung, I had a FLAGSHIP Galaxy S20+ Snapdragon variant, and it had a green line on its screen, both on the original and the very expensive original replacement. All happened after a year to 2 of use. And mind you, that is a flagship phone. How much worse do you think Samsung would be with mid-rangers in terms of quality control?
Both r android. What experience did have different in Samsung, despite overheating and draining on idle. Just curious, cuz that's the experience I had with Samsung
It's actually opposite my experience. with samsung s8 n s9+, I had screen problems both phones (black screen of death) n never came back to life, I'm using xiaomi redmi 9t and I like the experience, even though it's an entry level. Sometimes I think people like a product just because of the brand
I only prefer OneUI because I've used a flagship Galaxy phone, which is not fair and comparable to the MIUI software of a mid-range Xiaomi phone. But in terms of quality control, my Galaxy S20+ Snapdragon had green line on the screen after 2 years on its original display, and then had it again a year later on the very expensive original replacement screen. Definitely no more Samsung again for me, as Samsung didn't even want to fix my phone for free, even though the problem is clearly not my fault, and it just randomly occurred out of nowhere as I am casually using my phone. I've never had hardware failure on any of my Xiaomi budget phones that I've had in the past, and I'm confident that my Poco F5 will be no different from that.
the reason why the poco f5 has a powerful chip at an affordable price is that xiaomi cut down on other aspects of the phone eg. build material, cameras. the galaxy has better cameras, glass back and aluminum frame. and samsung's brand generally makes their prices go up more than xiaomi
I mean, I guess its nice to know that your phone is made of glass, but my s9+ that I've had for 4 years I've literally used 3 and a half years with a phone case, so there goes that "premium feel" out the window
@@SillentStrikeryep exactly the point. with the cases and screen protectors applied, every little drawbacks of the build quality become pretty much irrelevant, tho for some people who actually use the phone without any accessories, the build quality matters a lot as well
By "build quality" you mean build eye candy. I've never had a plastic phone case break when it falls down, only the screen is ever a concern in that case. Of course it can get scratched but so can flagships otherwise they would all sell as mint condition in the used market instead you find everything, scratched, non scratched etc. In any case, I always put a case on my phones so the case getting scratched isn't never really a concern of mine. In terms of build I prefer my phones being light (or relatively light lol) instead of them getting 1% titanium or whatever the f they're putting on iPhones
@@ShaferHart i mean yea totally agree with you. i went for a full plastic phone because of the weight, but what im saying is a lot of people wants to use their phone the way it is without any cases or screen protectors, so this whole build quality thing could be a deciding factor for them. the more premium material, of course, will bump up the price of the phone
