Awesome tutorial... even for a newbie like me :) For those who see just black in the "Color Range" window (at 02:51) , choose 'Shadows' instead of 'Sampled Colors' in the pull down menu. That worked for me. You will then be able to drag the black outline like in 04:15. Hope this helps!
thank you so much for sharing such a great method, you described every step very clearly, though i am still a fresher but i am very happy with the result i have got by using your technique.... keep doing such great job... all the best...
I always had trouble with this because when I pressed alt my whole face was with galaxy and u couldnt see my features anymore but finally found the solution sooo if u have the same problem here is how u fix it: when u drag the face into the new background layer make sure that you only drag the black part of the face so if its dragging the whole face including the white then try it again by clicking on the black then dragging it!! Hopee this helps and hope it makes sense haha!!
My suggestion for u it's to make tutorials that they are even hard for you to reproduce . Your tuts , till now , are good . But they are for begginers ,i dont say to stop making tuts for them , but u should make few for advanced
MegaJax / GFX + SORTEOS yeah I know but you have to do the selection yourself. So watching him making the entire selection isn't necessary if you get what the point is. Also the music is very annoying, I am not being rude but that's my opinion..
MegaJax / GFX + SORTEOS Well, I am doing my own thing just for fun. I am using Photoshop for about 5 years now and am kinda finding my style with it. Why did you ask?
I tried pictures with Halsey but at the threshold level I had to turn it up really high. Then on the color range the fuzziness automatically was set to 40 and was just a few dots. I even tried it with this same picture of the model used in this video but it still doesn't work. And when I try to move the face, even if I click on the black parts, the whole face including the white part moves. Anyone knows what's wrong?
@defy aidan at the Select > Colour range> Deselect Localised colour clusters, turn fuzziness to zero > select the second eye dropper which is “add to samples” then click OK. I tried it and now you can move the selection to your new background. *JUST TRY IT*
I just finished mine and I love it. But instead of doing a headshot I did a full body picture and added a different text omg It looks amazing thank you!
When you move the face to background, you need to click the black part (hair), because if you click on the white part, you will move the whole face, you selected with lasso.
you can use the tool to darken your skin around your chin and ears, so there will be a dark line shaping the face (instead of the beard). Works pretty well!
When you click on colour range, click on the hair to select the black colour.. Then while moving the image to the new background, drag the image from the hair and not from the face. It will work :)
@Shiro at the Select > Colour range> Deselect Localised colour clusters, turn fuzziness to zero > select the second eye dropper which is “add to samples” then click OK. I tried it and now you can move the selection to your new background. *JUST TRY IT*
Hi when I am trying this it is filling the full shape of the face rather than just the black parts Do you know solution to this? thanks in advance .please help
me neither, i think is because the version of his photoshop maybe its diferent to mine... i got the last one cc2015.05 , and use rigth clik in the name of the layer and make click in the "CREATE CLIPING MASK"... that's the trick that the author of the video did not show...because using atl as he show only cloning the layer
Great tutorial! - Not too slow not too fast and a beautiful presentation! (only thing I would add is if you "Right-click" do make a note for us) Thank you very much! Also thanks for the font :)
My Key, I'm also suffering with same problem but I wanna tell that this thing will only work with bookey effect picture means first go and click your pics with dslr camera with bokey effect...
Ordinarily I will not watch or subscribe to Photoshop tutorial channels that rely on visuals only. However, the makers of this tutorial opted for non-distracting music and actually hovered and zoomed in over the individual selections long enough that anyone can keep up. And, still managed to keep the tutorial both succinct and straightforward in method. Bravo. Thank you, I have subscribed and will keep tuning in. :)
