I think the phone should include a S pen tracker.

The Apple pencil not worth 100$ it's just plastic with certain parts inside of it to make it work I think the S pen is more important than the Apple pencil. Just because you can do more you can write under water using the S pen you can't do that using a Apple pencil

I worried about losing mine so I went on ebay and bought two from the Note7. They are the same size and fit on the Note8. They aren't the same colors, but they're less than $10 each.

now on Amazon( date is January 5, 2018), the note 8 s pen costs like 24 dollars. This is now much more reasonable than the 40 dollar price tag originally.

I've had 5 Samsung Galaxy Notes and lost the pen for the Note 4, was able to replace it with a new one via eBay, for $20 Australian. The phone has always let me know if my pen is detached. I've never set this up, I have always had a warning. Thank you. I love your very up to date info.

So sorry you lost your s pen. Funnily enough, my s pen just broke in two this past weekend! I popped it out and it cracked along the seam where the shiny end part meets the rest of the pen. Didn't drop the phone or anything, so I'm not sure why this happened. So frustrating! Currently waiting on my replacement to arrive from Amazon. $42...ouch...but I can't live without it!

You're completely wrong. The s-pen has almost everything in it that the Apple pencil does. The only thing missing is the battery and charging circuit. It instead gets power from the rf field projected by the screen. It still has a strain gauge (for the pressure sensitivity) and some kind of microprocessor. If the s-pen at $50 is too much then the Apple pencil at $100 is way too much. The charging circuit and battery can't be more than a few dollars.

I got myself the staedler digital pen just for fun... And I managed to snap it in half while half asleep... (the 'pen' itself is safe, just the wooden cover snapped D: Still functioning well after some superglue work... The only bad thing is if I lose this it has no alert for me lol

Thank you I was able to find my S Pen by looking at the time stamp when I took it out last then going to my Google timeline on maps finding out I was home all evening so therefore I was able to backtrack figure out where exactly I was when I lost my S Pen been found it thank you for the interesting tip of the timestamp

S Pen has it's own little motherboard inside and lots of coils similar to the ones used for Samsung pay. When it gets near it it wirelessly powers the pens motherboard so the button can work. The tip doesn't actually do much but guide you, if you try to write at an extreme angle you can see the writing isn't actually where the tip is. So I think it's mildly acceptable that it's $40 It would be nice if it were 20 tho

I actually did lose my s pen at the gym. I realized it when I got home and called them right away but they couldn't find it. My phone never alerted me that the s pen was not inside although that feature was enabled. I read somewhere that Samsung is aware of this glitch but doing nothing to fix it.

You make good videos, but talk too much of unnecessary stuff.. Pls come to the point faster. This should have been a 2 minute video. Just a feedback, coz I like the essential content of your videos and you deserve more viewership.

One more VERY important tip.... make sure the pen is pushed ALL the way in..I noticed that mine was not pushed all the way in for a few hours and then I noticed it when I got ready to use the pen again.. it could have fallen out at any time... make sure it clicks in

the material of the s pen is cheap, but the R&D used to develop it probably very costly, so cant blame them to try to recoup it

Only problem is, this only works when the screen is off, which is practically useless.

Also be aware not to get it from Amazon or eBay because almost all off these are fake. You can tell when you press the button on the end and side of the pen and the nub is thicker.

Hi. Great tutorials! I’m a left handed note8 user. Have questions about device. First question.Its a duel sim version and the user interface for this is complicated. Example. I think when renaming sims it stops displaying which sim is in use. Also, no matter what I do, second sim number is displayed as unknown. Advice would be appreciated.Second question. Being left handed I set up r t l ( right to left) in advanced settings. Which works great.But I had to switch it back as some of the functions in Samsung notes are compromised. Etc, when using the function where you can write in the box at bottom of screen and it places your words as you would write them at the top of the screen, it does it in reverse.. an obvious problem.I heard there is a Arabic version of note 8 and I can imagion that as it would probably be set to write that way as standard, r t l would fix that, but haven’t got the skills to locate or test that theory.I’m mainly looking for left handed tips. An interesting point is I’ve used Apple for ten years and just switched over to Samsung. That isnt true I spent $20 on mine on Amazon.

My S pen always alerts that it is not inside the phone even when it is inside....it makes this annoying notification sound all the time... how to stop this?

Hey my phone is giving me that chime saying my s pen is out and the s pen menu appears on the screen, but my s pen is secured in its slot it has been doing this a lot the last couple of days. How do I fix it?

Lost my s pen. Now it worth 4k. Ruined the device. Used it for all the proof reading and note making whole purpose destroyed.

The reason alarm doesn't come already turned on is because they know there's some extra $50.00 they can make out of people ordering the S-pen.... That's smart business

I use my S-Pen for basically everything. So I love this feature as well. I couldn't wait for the Note8 to come out because I missed using it after both my Note7's were recalled and had to downgrade to the S7 Edge. Using swype with it is super fast and clicking on very small links works so good vs your finger. Plus no fingerprints! I've been hooked on the Note line since the original. What I hope they do soon is improve the durability of it though. On my Note 5 the spring went flying out and the top cap came off so that was pretty much impossible to get back in. And, in the little time I had my 2nd Note7, I had accidentally left the S-Pen on my bed and when I set back down it broke off from the plastic part connected to the Samsung logo and had to order another. So guys please be careful to always put it back in the phone as it can break easily and don't click the spring too much like they did on the Note 5 demo lol. And thanks for giving a lot of Note tips. Even as an owner of every Note, you've shown me a few things. Great channel!

Fir that price it should have a honing signal to the phone. I dozed off reading and my phone fell on yhe floor when i picked it up the pen screen came on. What the heck? Of course i dont see it. Im mobility impaired so ill get my son to look later. I checked using Saki's tip and sure enough it was right here. I see walmart is carrying these for abt $11. US . Still seems high for no chip to trace back to.

Don't you remember to put the Pen back into the Note 8. The Pen alarm is factory set for the alarm out of the box. It should be habit thow... To Put the Pen back in the phone securely till it clicks flush.. Fools to not do so... And Pay for a replacement.

My Note 8 is doing something weird, its vibrating every minute. My phone has always been set on vibrate and still does during notifications and calls, but now it vibrates all day literally every minute. I restarted it twice so far and no change. Any idea?
