@@erickmazariegos5778 May it would still lose. A youtubet called TechNick tested in 60Hz and the iPhone sill came out on top. Also, S21U ultra was LTPO meaning it could switch from 11-120Hz so it was actually unfair for the iPhone which was at constant 60Hz

This channel is awesome. I’ve binge watched your whole channel now I’m about to go back and like all your videos. These are the most legit tests I’ve seen on RU-vid. Makes it even better I’m an iPhone guy! But I’m sticking with my 11 pro Max. I usually upgrade every year to have the latest but this phone is so great I might keep it for the full 5 or 6 years...unless they completely blow everything out of the water I just feel this is the best phone they’ve ever made for what I need to use it for.

For the Spotify test, what do you guys think about connecting both phones to Bluetooth headphones from a different company than the phone manufacturers (like sony, bose) and then run the test? I might be wrong here but I guess the majority of people stream music while having headphones on and connected (for e.g. while exercising, travelling in public transport, at work etc).

@@haidaraliabdulawal8523 no. In fact he’s worse. He uses benchmarks and random apps that people don’t even know and calls it a battery test. This is more accurate to real life usage. Also, no the Exynos ans Sd perform identically in battery tests so the iPhone still would’ve won.

Probably not a massive difference since the s21u has ltpo which means it's not using 120hz a lot of the time anyway

The resolution wouldn't change anything. The pixels on the phone stay the same, it just makes it a tiny bit easier for whatever is running the graphics. No pixels are being turned off when you drop the resolution, and if you did drop the resolution, then it'd be an even bigger gap because the S21 drops to 1080p. 1440p is closer to 1284p than 1284p is to 1080p. And the refresh rate wouldn't really help the S21 either because it would be locking it at 60hz (pretty sure the 60hz option keeps it at 60hz no matter what) and then it wouldn't be able to take advantage of the sub-60hz refresh rate in apps like RU-vid, Google Maps and Spotify, and would result in more battery drained in those test, evening it out to be more efficient in apps that do use 120hz but less efficient in the apps that don't. So no real advantage would be had sadly

@@klatchabobby nicely put. And yeah, when you switch to 60hz it stays stuck on 60hz no matter what. Even when it's on 120hz, it doesn't go down to the 10hz that were advertised. It only works in specific lightning conditions, which I've not been able to figure out what those are yet. The lowest I've gotten it to display has been 48fps.

@@fanban2926 they most likely will. 48fps was only achievable on a youtube video. Other than that it's either 120 or 60. Even when viewing pictures and letting the screen stay still for a while. Who knows if Samsung even knows that i know lol this might be my last reply 😖

In equal situations the Galaxy would win, it has more brightness, Hz, resolution and a bigger display so thay 8% of difference makes sense. Also the added functions of One UI 🤷🏻‍♂️ in an equal situation the Galaxy would win by 40%

@@well7885 bruh, the difference is not much of a big deal, besides overheating causes problem regarding performance in the s21 but it can be solved, drop tests were pretty much similar and in terms of battery test again overheating and 120 hz display, besides every one gets their time, there was a time not long ago when apple never won any phonebuff tests for a pretty long time, now its their time, samsung or any other company might take over soon, who knows...

I miss the Sum Up at the end where you show how much screen on time and overall Battery life time... But I like this test, because it makes sense. No weird "we use 1080p at 60Hz while all people instead use it like 1440p at 120Hz since we all waited Samsung do this"-shit. And you do all day stuff anyone is doing, no weird benchmark app that tells me 12hrs and I really don't know what this means to me. Thank you guys!

I somehow really want Apple to do that. Not to get actual battery life for several days but only to show how extremely efficient iPhones are compared to every single Android phone 😂 With 5000 mAh, the iPhone probably would have had 35-40% left when the S21 ultra died.

鬱病先生 then why does the galaxy needs more RAM? Did you see the speed test on the previous video? The galaxy failed to keep Starbucks and Facebook open with a whopping 12 Gb. The iPhone with 6 GB was able to keep all of its apps ready and go. How could you say that the Galaxy is optimized? iPhones have better memory efficient. And the iPhone 11 Pro Max even destroyed the Samsung galaxy s20 ultra even at 60 hz. iPhones are well optimized; Samsung might be optimized, but much inferior compared to iPhones. That’s why the battery and the ram on the iPhone have a lesser quantity than Android. Apple did a really good job keeping the phone as smooth as possible without running “garbage collections”.

Once the variables are controlled, you can then normalize the battery life to battery capacity. Regardless the S21 comes with 120 Hz enabled by default, so most users will likely not turn it off.

@@EidanHimself More pixel and the refresh rate CAN BE double, however the refresh rate CAN BE much less as it has adaptive refresh rate. So many times during the test the S21 was running on lower refresh rate, which means the iPhone’s display consumed 6 times more power than the Samsung’s display. The Samsung has around 35% bigger battery as well. I haven been using this adaptive technology for almost 2 years as my iPad Pro has true tone display... “Are you one of those people who say 60Hz is fine?” -I did not say that, in fact, you said that! So please dont put words in my mouth... BTW read what the guy said above: “S21 killed it!” Did it? Did the Samsung last longer than the iPhone? Really?

Well, the Samsung was running on 120hz and the Iphone at 60hz. The more hz the more battery consumption. So, to my knowledge the Samsung would have lasted longer than the Iphone.

Nearly 9.5 hours is pretty insane for the S21 Ultra considering it's running at a higher resolution and sometimes also a higher refresh rate. Although realistically, if anyone can kill either of these phones in a day, you should reconsider your life choices haha Edit: guys, I'm not trying to start an argument, they're both great results

What people need to remember is that the screen is adaptive on the S21. So at some points in theory it should be more efficient in some tests compared the always 60hz screen on the iPhone.

It is interesting how much 120hz screens will improve till iPhone start using them and how much they will have to increase battery capacity to counter the high refresh rate drain.

I used both phones and I can tell by experience that the iphone 12 pro max does truly better. The s21 ultra dropped so quickly from 100% while the iphone 12 maintains the 100% for quite a long time before dropping to 99. This experience was tbe reason I looked for this video. I recalled a reviewer once said "size doesn't matter" when he was comparing 12pro max and S21 ultra. Now I understand having used the 2 phones hands on.

S21 Ultra here. The battery seems to last more after a week of charging cycles. Now I can can get through the day with about 40% left in the evening. I don't use my phone for gaming though. Just browsing the internet, podcast listening at work and you tube videos with some photo taken during lunch breaks. So far I am impressed with the battery. I remember I had to charge my S9 right after 9 hours shift to be able to use the phone during the evening.

The most similar resolution to the iPhone 12's 2532 x 1170 native resolution would be the FHD 2400 x 1080 resolution on the S21 running at 60hz....no doubt at those settings even with the iPhone's optimization the S21 Ultra would net more battery simply because of the hardware differences. Real battery life is all gonna come down to what users have their phones set at anyway so I takes these comparisons lightly. Like I run my phone in dark mode, so I'd get more outta both of these phones.

I realize that most people won't change the settings but I think it would be fair or I would love to see your official test because I really respected if they're both running at the same refresh rate Simon brightness same audible sound I would like to see that test because I for one am still impressed but nobody runs a phone like me I don't want it generic out of the box so I would leave it at 1080P or put it down to 7:20 P the screen is so good I wouldn't care but at least match the screen by also turning down the refresh rate now that you've done an official out-of-the-box scenario I would really be curious about that

Correct me if Im wrong here, but according to Samsung the killer feature of this phone was the 120Hz display. That was one of the selling point. Why would you turn it off? BTW Samsung’s display can run on 10Hz, which means the iPhone’s 60Hz display consumes 6 time more power during certain tasks, like browsing the web or reading something or Spotify.... The display reduced the refresh rate for sure....
