Has anyone figured out how to make hdr work without top shot. I love top shot but it decides best photo hdr but then you’ve got no option to make another photo an hdr export. I’ve learned that topshot usually always makes one photo have amazing quality hdr export and another photo with poor hdr export and then every other photo that’s not selected as best even if you love it will not have hdr export and will look significantly less quality.
I am upgrading from Huawei P30 Pro to Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra. I have been watching lots of camera comparisons to judge whether it is worth it, and it's been really reaffirming that the latest of Samsung is the right choice.
@nickmotsarsky4382 If you would have press on the screen at a more dark point it would change and go for a longer exposure. It can be extreamly big difference depending how you point the camera also, just a cm and it would be completely different for example. For both.
@Tobi Oluyede how do you know ? I want my pictures to be more natural . And please don't say that pixel photos are not instagram worthy because they actual look great .
@Tobi Oluyede I want mine to be as natural as possible because I get to enjoy the beauty of nature. But hey, it's better to have a natural photo than one that isn't because you can edit the natural photo to your liking, but trying to edit an unnatural photo to look natural is a bit tricky.
It is a difficult decision, in my opinion the Pixel is still the undisputed king of HDR... it exposes the shadows very well and the photographs are more visually pleasing... in night mode they are a little more balanced. in spite of everything I would buy the Samsung the zoom is incredible ...CONGRATULATIONS FOR YOUR VIDEOS, YOU DO AN EXCELLENT JOB👌🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
But is that very strong HDR actually that necessery? I mean, the pictures look too artificial in my opinion, some highlight clipping is just more natural and gives it more of a real camera feeling.
@@TheRMSAndre1 you're right e. in some specific cases it is too much hdr... it would be ideal to have that option and a more natural one .. Quiero decir como cuando se guardan copias en formato RAW.. Taking into account that phones are normally used to upload photos to social networks, photography is made as colorful as possible... in a more professional environment, I totally agree with you, it would be too HDR
Both are very good. The Pixel’s colours are very nice, but personally I’d still pick the Samsung for the better resolution. At the end of the day colours can be edited, detail cannot.
I didn’t expect google would improvise their camera performance this much. They really did a great job through software update. Kudos to the google guys.
When you spend the kind of money they were asking for as well as all the fuss they made about their camera through the pre marketing, I'm not sure if we should be congratulating them on merely reaching the quality level they advertised months after launch.
And yet they haven't bothered doing what the people have actually been asking for: unlocking the full 50mp option and fixing the terrible 2x portrait mode with a digital crop and the unnatural blur..
Pixel has total customer hdr on main menu camera... these is a great and practica feature. His color are more natural and and his price is clearly more cheap... Samsung s22 ultra is great but Pixel 6 pro is the best camera for me
Damn the Samsung S22 Ultra has amazing ambient sound removal. It literally sounds like it's been edited in post cos the audio is so clear and the main subject is always the priority.
Both nice, those action pan shots though on the pixel 6 Pro! Video at night hands down but not by much, better quality on s22 ultra. Neither I would particularly use with out good light. Everything else Pixel seems overall consistent.
Maybe it's just me, but in the lens flare comparison I much prefer the pixel's handling of the point light source over the s22's. The s22 might have less flare away from the source, but at the light source itself, the pixel controlled it much better. If that is the tradeoff then I definitely go with pixel over s22.
I am very curious for the updates Samsung is going to push to improve the cameras cause this year this is the only main flagship normal phone they have! So I think if they improve the camera it can become even more amazing and can't wait to see that!! Team Samsung😃
@@ssaini5028 But Samsung is already so good and can beat the other phones even now! It just needs some tweaking here and there. Samsung's camera are built to last the whole year cause this camera is going to compete with the next iPhone and pixel. If past is anything to go by Samsung still has some tricks left in this camera which they will provide through update
Great comparison! 👏 The main reasons why I'd choose the S22 Ultra are because it can take portrait mode shots with the telephoto camera, while the Pixel can't (zoomed in portraits on the Pixel are pretty much unusable) and because of the 10x periscope camera. The thing is motion blur is a HUGE problem on my S21 Ultra, and knowing that it's still there on the S22 Ultra makes me very disappointed.
True but you can use the 4x for natural portrait shots without the software enhancements and the results are beautiful. I'm a little jealous of pro mode on all lenses for Samsung though. Can't lie.
@Ygor Cortes Lol, you're one of those people huh? I have some friends that post 99% of their pics with Portrait mode on in every scenario and with the blur cranked to the max and it's so cringy. Just take a normal damn pic..
I’d say most photos from the pixel just looked ultimately better as a keeper than the s22, with more everywhere and a sharpness that reflects detail, without post processing it every time
The low light content was exactly why I started searching for comparisons in the first place! This helped solidify my choice, but definitely more thought provoking than I anticipated. Thank you!!
I've really been loving the cameras, I think it's never been easier to take great shots and not be ashamed of them lol. I'm having trouble because for most non-action shooting the 108MP camera has such a beautiful depth of field that it almost doesn't need the optimizations of the regular shooter. Maybe they can combine them both because it really is a great lense.
But only the pro has 4x optical zoom. If you have the regular pixel 6, can you take portrait mode and make it decent at least without all the over sharpening on the face?
I don't know what it is with pixels, even when they sometimes do weird stuff like the portrait digital zoom, or the noise in the shadows. The white balance and colour almost always comes across just a touch more natural. Image if Google would get rid of the last few issues the camera has
Yep, which is why I'm so frustrated with the Pixel. It's being held vack from greatness by some idiotic decisions, like no 50mp mode and no 4x or even 1x Portrait feature..
The software processing is magical on the pixel, BUT, idk, pixel's camera processing is kinda hit or miss sometimes, and google should go all out.. Afterall, competition brings more innovation and better products for us, the consumers
Hey Danny, I'd love to know how has the oversharpening been controlled this time with the S22U? Samsung photos look nice as long as we don't zoom too much into them. Most camera comparison reviews show us zoom out images but fine detail and how much natural resolved detail and textures have been preserved can only be noticed upon zooming in for close inspection. I have been buying flagship Samsung phones every year but I don't like how their images are processed. Too oversharpened for my taste. I'd love to hear from you before I jump in to get it this year. Thanks !!
As someone who has the. S22U (exynos) let me tell you that when you zoom in (after having taken the picture) it looks horrible, feels to.me like a 2016 phone... Disappointed... Waiting for the update to decide whether im.returning it or not… battery drain on WiFi only is insane…. 1% every 2 minutes with light use… I either have a defective unit or they fucked up really hard…
Hey. Can you tell me please what exactly improved on the P6Pro with the software updates? The footages here are different from your earlier comparisons, so i can badly tell where they improved. Appreciate it!
I like how the Pixel doesn't always completely boost the shadows on the pictures allowing for natural contrast. But I don't mind the over exposing around super bright objects like the sun, trying to get rid of that as much as possible can be a touch unnatural. A bit of clipping is OK smartphone manufacturers
They have found the great balance between shadow detail and contrast. Imo Apple crushes the shadows too much and Samsung brightens the shadows too much.
@@kaxxxxx Did you see the video? The Pixel has great HDR while still providing nice contrast. There's a reason the Pixel 5A that does the exact same processing as the 6 won the blind smartphone test Marques did
Team Galaxy here. And both Google and Samsung have plenty room to improve. I wish them the best, for the benefit of all their customers and share holders.
Wow! Thats as close as your gonna get. Wouldve liked to see more action/moving photo comparisons. I like to just point and shoot, especially at sporting events which often times produces blurry photos.
Man Danny, you are so dedicated in giving the best content, looking forward for your 1M subs soon. Thanks your videos helped me judge to take on S22ULTRA
Danny, *something is missing from your camera tests,* you only test the microphone audio with front facing cameras. But audio from back facing cameras is also important and *DIFFERENT* than front facing video. A phone might have good audio in selfie mode, while the other phone might have better audio in back facing video
can you also make a difference showing the difference between 108mp enhancment mode vs 108mp vs steandard 3:4 in night and day? Would be very appreciated!
Hi Danny thanks for the video great comparaison like always, you are the best in this field I have a question please, when you use portrait mode on samsung what is the best choice i a mean from 1 to 7 what do you use to blur background usually for portrait, u take impressive portrait photos
Personally, I don't care about the wait at night. Google Pixel 6 Pro would still be about half the time of my current phone and the photos come out better than competitors most of the time, so it's worth it.
Exactly right. You can usually tell when it switches to the telephoto lens because it 'blips' the image for a second. This didn't happen here. I do hate how I can't force the phone to use the telephoto lens though vs. the phone deciding to 'let' me use it based on lighting conditions and subject distance.
I almost waited for the S22 Ultra knowing it would be the new Note, but so happy I went with the 6 Pro. Pixel hands down best all around Android camera. I'm surprised Apple is doing so good with the iPhone. They use to have HORRIBLE camera and for the last 2 years they been killing it
I'm trying to decide between these two, but i will be stuck with the exynos in the ultra. Do you think there will be enough of a difference to warrant the price difference? Zoom range is really important to me and i saw in your comparrison that the exynos lags behind the snapdragon.
Pixel are amazing. A better battery and screen brightness I would change. And if they change the white balance for just a bit warmer it would be a bonus
@@Xenaman I have eyes, and is that somehow supposed to give me the ability to tell how accurate the colors were when I haven't seen any of these locations in real life?
Thank you for always including your "models." Seeing your wife & kids across many videos makes for consistent comparison. And, whenever I see them in the thumbnail I always think, "Oh good, here's another great Danny Winget video!"
WOAH! You're in my town! It's just so so random to run into someone in the same place on accident! Also, do you know about the Andriod Auto issue with the pixel 6? I want the pixel 6, but I have heard horrible things about the pixel 6 not connecting to anroid auto.
Man I leave to many comments. The back and forth at night is so funny. I'd prefer every phone to just keep it dark like it is in single snap mode and only brighten up when using night mode
Funny how night shot are big now . My Windows Icon was way ahead of it's time . Could shoot in 21 meg, Raw, Night shots, long exposure, f stops, Wireless charging, hd video. This was my fav phone 8 years ago. No one gave it credit, I still own it today.
thanks danny, your camera comparisons are the best on youtube. pixel wins quite comfortably for me. video footage is way more pleasing (to me at least) on the pixel, and I think is comparable to the iphone. I had the pixel 6 pro for a month to try out and found it excellent. the length of the night mode shots to me isn't a problem, and you can lower the exposure slider to shorten it. there is also a modded version of the camera app (same google app) that can customize images a ton, and can almost double the video bitrate.
The flare issue is just a simple lens coating problem. Google clearly doesn't treat their lens with any sort of coating. You can find this in real camera lenses too. The cheaper ones don't have the coating and so they flare badly and get chromatic abberations.
