Man I wish I could afford the Plus models. I have a S10 too. I really want the S23+ because S24+ has exynos in my region and it don't want it to overheat. Hope you enjoy your new phone !
I'm still rocking the S9+, which I've had since new (5 years) without any issues, but now might be the time to update. I was thinking about the S24 Ultra but now I am thinking about the S24+.
Yes, it is washed out indeed, I tested it. It looks more like the natural mode in S23 and not the Vivid mode. Someone in Reddit said Samsung UK responded that this is a bug and devs are working on it.
Had already s24+ in basket on Samsung shop app but decided to check out some videos and found this. After this i wached more reviews and to be honest i had mixed feelings about exynos cpu. Battery drain didn't bother me that much, it was problem with the reception. Started to dig deeper and eventually found that a lots of people complain about having a bad signal and thats something what cant be sorted with updates as its a hardware issue. Decided to get SD version via wonda mobile and that would set me back £743. Was a bit skeptical about warranty situation so i had a final look on amazon and found s24 ultra on offer for £780 which was no-brainer and i purchased one. It had SD cpu and nicer screen. I know its big but rather this then s24+ with exynos. People say its heavey and i dont know what they are taking about as weight difference between s24 ultra and iPhone 15 promax is minimal and to me iPhone isnt a heavy phone. Anyway thank you for the real life s24+ exynos reviews, they were a main factor why i didnt get it and went for SD s24 ultra
I have until 6th of february for the preorder. Trying to trade-in my smashed pixel 6 for this phone with the exynos. Should I take the plunge? Everything about it seems very compelling to me so far apart from the camera
hello sir, just wanna ask. if you"re saying that the s24+ exynos might be the best flagship phone at this 1st quarter of the year 2024, why compare it to last years 8gen2 xperia? why not compare it to s24+ 8gen3 or THE Ultra 8gen3? I mean you're talking about the "trio s24 series" right? just asking. 😏
Here you go, the first like for the video is from me. To gain more subscribers try reviewing mid ranges phones with less quality reviews. Many models are only covered by people speaking half Hindi half English. Pro tip don't pay for Adobe Premiere, Davinchi resolve is free even for business use.
I wrote exactly this on another page. I got my S24 plus yesterday and hate the speaker quality. It sounds muffled. Why on earth would they put a tiny slit there? It should be bigger to let more volume out. It's no bigger than the charging port. It's also overheating with minimal usage and the colours are washed out. Many customers have been returning theirs because of the poor colour gamut. Older versions like the S10 look much better. There is a video on RU-vid regarding this colour issue. You can try yourself. Try changing display from vibrant to normal and vice versa and see if you can detect a change. Think I'm returning mine Monday as I don't see any updates resolving this.
8:39 this looks just bad, nothing is really in focus here and edges of snowberries look just wrong (it's not a bokeh effect despite in background we do have bokeh). I would say it's one of those rare examples on RU-vid showing how defective camera affects photos. Pay attention to tiny leaf-like thing in the middle of the fruit (calyx) - it's under milky overlay. One can say it looks "artistic", but it's just degradation of quality. Visible, because we have contrast on those parts (white/creamy fruit vs dark brown calyx). You encounter exactly same problem when taking photos of documents, text - it's blurry. And in case of document photos, it doesn't look "artistic" any longer, it's just making text to be not readable on some areas of the picture (only focused areas stays sharp, but some other parts of picture - do not). If you want to know more about this, look for issue named "banana-gate", it's something Samsung didn't fix on S23/S23+ (Ultra models do not have this problem) and apparently it's now on S24/S24+. I would like to see more photos taken by this unit, but I'm pretty sure we're talking about banana-gate here.
Also, when checking this - use Pro mode and manual focus, print A4 page full of text in small font, then try taking a photo of it. Green highlight will help you to spot out-of-focus areas (areas, which get the focus too early or too late compared to rest of the frame)
@techmo2020 Thank you for replying. Great to hear that, because I was cornered about the exynos chip so thought I would get the 23+ but feel relive hearing it's better at least to the base 23
Me too. Got mine yesterday and it performs just like the S23 regular I got rid of. Also, the colours look washed out. Not as vibrant as the older ones. Many people are sending them back because of this colour issue. You can try changing vibrant to normal and see for yourself. There is a video on RU-vid. All the S24 models apparently are having this issue. Personally I'm really concerned about the exynos chip as my phone does get hot through minimal use. Never had this problem with my S23 regular with the 8gen2 in it. Was thinking about getting the ultra for piece of mind with the 8gen3 but with people returning theirs may just cancel everything. How crap is this 😐
@@Facu1ty1855 Interesting. Ultra also has a washed-out color issue apparently, it seems like a software bug that is affecting all S24 phones. Tomorrow I will test S24 vs S23 to see how hot S24 gets.
@@Facu1ty1855Üstadım hakikaten normal kullanımda da ısınıyor öyle mi? Bende plus almayı düşünüyorum bu dediğinden sonra almam. Samsung Exynos ile intihar etti resmen! Çok saçma bu.
@@techmo2020 I just realized that the s24+ doesnt have the macro photography unlike the ultra. The picture you tookl probably from the main wide lens (1x) not from the ultra wide lens (.6x)
@niklaussalvador2157 it could be very well be. I'm gonna try to compare ultra and S24+ in another video, will be more careful next time to see which lens I used.
Should I upgrade my iphone 13 mini to s24 Plus? But here I can only buy the Exynos version. So I am a bit confused because my iphone's battery is ridiculously terrible now :(
bro when you are recording selfie walking at the park, hear the quality of the record, sounds really bad, as if the microphone had a defect , i have the same problem with my s24 plus, record various videos and you can hear how the smartphone record bad the sound sometimes. do you know if there will be a software fix or if the problem is hardware?
The park is next to the autobbahn and there was a crazy wind. My guess is that they are using AI noise cancellation on the S24 series. That's why it sounds a bit robotic. Not sure if it's a bug or a feature to be honest haha
I found out that the VIDEO microphone quality is bad if you record with HEVC format. It's instead good if you record H.264 videos or if you use the microphone in any other app. It's "only" a software issue, luckily.
It heavily depends on the deal. I upgrade every 2 - 4 years, mostly because of updates. My wife gets the old one. Usually she doesn't even want to upgrade and is still using my old S9+ and the only reason why she wants my 22 Ultra are the cameras. I have the S24+ now and it performs like the S22U and the overall experience is the same. The difference for me, and the main reason to upgrade, it is lighter, which is important for cycling mounts and the corners are round and the screen is flat. That makes it perfectly protectable in combination with the lower weight. For my needs and the possibility to pass on the old device in my family, and get lower carrier fees, which I had to negotiate, it was a good deal for me. If it is the same for your situation, you are the only one who can answer the question. From a pure technical view, even a 4 year old flagship will still do the job perfectly.
Worst battery life with rubbish exynos chip don't buy waste of money.. lousy exynos chip battery draining the way alot faster than snapdragon chip.. SAMSUNG STOP GIVING YOUR RUBBISH CHIP TO US .. !
I would love to have the option to get s24+ with snapdragon and not that exynos...it eats battery more and its hotter...it would be ok if it was on lower price than the snapdragon one but since its on the same price its not worth it for lesser performence.
Benchmarks not going to show anything real if that hardware is new, real stuff will show after several months to a year, SD8 Gen 2 has already proven itself.
To be honest I made this review before I did a through tests on Exynos. Originally I bought this device to keep it and I was very excited, as you probably notice from my tone in the review. After my own tests results and test results from GSMArena, I realized the Exynos variant having serious thermal and battery issues, and S24+ lasts less than S23+ which is insane considering the larger battery it has. To me Exynos on S24+ is better than S24, S24+ is bigger and has a larger capacity of battery, hence you won't notice the difference as much as you would notice between S24 and S23. I am very conflicted on S24+ right now, I can just tell you personally I sold my unit and I kept S24 Ultra :) If you have access to S24+ Snapdragon, that's another story and it would be an instant buy for me.
@@techmo2020 I'm thinking to invest in a galaxy device with the intention to use it for at least 5 years, I'm confused if I should go for the S24+ or the S24 ultra
I should do a more through test, I'm currently taking more pictures and comparing it to S23, will publish a new video soon. The 3X sensor in S24 is new and the quality is visibly different than S23, but not necessarily for the better... I still think there are not many cameras that perform better than S24 except iPhone Pro Max and Galaxy Ultra.
@@techmo2020 please check zoom on Old Good Huawei p30 :) you will be shocked, how Good it was. I can't get used to my s24, zoom is not that Good, macro not that Good. Only selfies and videos are mayor upgrade in my case
USA and China have snapdragon in each model, rest of the world is f...d up with exynos in base models...and prices are the same in Us and Europe. In Europe we get the same price as US but in place of snapdragon we get the shitty exynos once again...I guess s23 was just a test run...EU should demand equal products or ban on the market, either everyone gets the same product world wide or ban, selling worse product for the same money is not right.
