True True... but it wouldn't be so bad if they actually knew what they were talking about. So many just spew regurgitated false opinions that it's a problem for those who are not tech savvy . It's only natural wanting to know about your tech, devices you own.

Probably should have mentioned after setting the slider to where you want it, you can turn back on the two controls that were turned off and the new vividness remains.
Turn off the eye shields. Adjust vividness. Re-enable eye shields. Vividness stays as set. Seems to be the case for me. I am using shields with increased vividness, as I want.
Worth noting if you have the mulitport samsung superfast charging brick, you only get 2.0 charging if you have one wire plugged in. Adding other wires to the brick bumps you down
There is 3 types of "Jimmy Charging" I've used the past 10 years. 1. I used to only charge at night before i went to bed. This way, it would reach 100%, I unplug and keep it at bed side. 2. Last year, I had maximum protection charging on and had it go to the 80% or 85% and it stopped. 3. With the S24U, I'm trying their new features of adaptive charging. So when I go to bed, plug in. It goes to 80% and stays til about 1hr before I wake up and gets to 100% by the time i take it off.

Come form a Pixel and when I plugged at night, if I have and alarm set up, it indicated that the charge would be complete before it triggers, which I really liked. Simple and efficient. With the S24U tried and doesnt work the same if I have adaptive setup and alarm.
Hey Jimmy, thanks a ton for your videos, am having the same issue with the adaptive battery protection feature...tried the Wipe Cache Partition thing as you said...still having the same issue,it's charging upto 100 percent and staying there, is there some other setting on the phone which is interfering with this? I use my laptop to charge my phone, and it, along with my cable, does support 2.0. Although, I have battery protection on on my laptop so my laptop won't allow super fast charging till I turn it off. Keep all of these factors in mind. Sadly, it's not the 90s, and electronics are more complicated than they used to be.
Any opinions if I should wait and see if they do give updates to my s22 ultra and not dog us off or just buy a s24 or wait for the s25? Thanks in advance
I know this is kinda different from the primary features. The always on display brightness slider isn't there. I thought that Samsung would give the brightness slider back for the always on display. Always on display is too dim in the dark room. Before all you would have to do is tap twice on the clock of the always on display and the brightness slider would appear. No such luck on the s24 ultra. In my use case the always on display served as a replacement for a digital clock. Any suggestions welcomed from anyone who may even know a work around. Thank you in advance for the response.
I cant believe you suddenly answered the question I'm asking to Samsung Support last week. And no one can give a straight confident answer. I'm asking if the usb-c cable included in the box is already compatible for 45W charger.
If 5a is not stamped on the silver part of the usbc connector it's not 45 watt compatible...this has been known for years. You must be new to smartphones & cables 🤔
they advertised it that u can get 0 to 65 in 30 minutes of charge but today i happened to have 'the chance' to test it and nope it is 0 to 60 in 30 minutes i am using 45w charger and with super fast charging 2.0 so jimmy can u test that one out on camera? i know 5% is not that big deal but does this consider false advertising?
The Battery life is amazing. I suggest users reset the phone to factory defaults, to have a fresh and clean experience and also suggest not to transfer files from previous devices as this makes the new phone in my opinion boring.
Anyone know to get your SOT since last charge information back? Now it only give us those numbers for a certain day, and it's annoying. Preferably without downloading a third party app.
The fingerprint reader is great. Works as if it wasn't there. The protector and case is always listed in all my video descriptions towards top for easy to find.
I used that option before the update. Don't know if it affects the new display update. I left it as is. Even with the display update, my s20 still looks better. The new update slightly improves colors.its better than nothing. I actually liked the natural colors. It grew on me
Why are y'all so good at tinkering with options you clearly shouldn't be tinkering at your respective lvls? If you have to ask, then just revert it back to normal if already adjusted. Pls, you don't need to do everything you see on reddit or online.

You can charge it with a 65 Watt charger, but your S24 Ultra can only draw 45 Watts maximum, and this is all it will draw from your 65 Watt charger. It is perfectly safe to this, and your device won't overheat or anything. All is good for you.
You use false cabel or charger, buy 50 bucks original charger then you see, there is no drain of battery, vivid option can change display, the update is better from where you buy s24 ultra, my is from EU, yours ????
Nope. No issue at all. The charger that is 65W I'm sure is GAN and has PD (power delivery) which means it knows how much to send out without overpowering.
Following the installation of the Vivid update, I did not perceive a significant enhancement in the feature. If users are required to repeatedly adjust the vividness slider and question whether a noticeable difference has occurred, the update's impact may be deemed insufficient. It would be beneficial to expand the customization options for vividness beyond the current limitations in a future update.
Regarding "fast charging" (of any type, or wattage), I see some recommendations out there that 'Fast Charging' in general isn't as good for long-term battery life as slower charging would be. What's the consensus from the knowledgeable folks here?
It's all rubbish. Has no effect, the faster the better. The only reason you'll have a worse battery is if you keep your phone battery at 80% or higher or 30% and under for very long periods. A regular phone user will see no difference of impact to their battery life over time whether it be fast charged or not, excepting for the conditions I mentioned.

@festerofest4374 freedom of choice I guess. Or perhaps there's a scenario where your fast charger is dodgy and it does not charge correctly when enabled.
fast charging wears the battery moreso than standard charging rate. it produces more heat. charging the battery to 100% will shorten it's lifetime and produce more wear as well. if you want to maximize the battery life, limit charging to 85% and don't use super fast charging. i get more than enough battery life to get through the day charging my s23 ultra to 85%, and this will significantly lengthen the useful life of the battery.
@ensom completely false information bar the charge above 85%. A slow charger will heat your battery for a longer duration and their peak temperatures will be about the same. However the duration at which this occurs is so short that the degradation is very minimal. The issue isn't the heat, it's the voltage the battery is sitting at. If it stays above or below specific voltages for long periods, it will degrade the battery faster than usual (worst case 10%/year).
This video is very useful, but i still have a doubt about battery charging with my device. When I charge the battery of my S24 Ultra with a 45W Samsung charger, the smartphone only charges if it is turned on. If I turn off the S24 Ultra and try to charge the battery with the same 45W charger, it gives a moisture warning message in the USB-C port (with an image of a drop of water, pointing towards the USB-C input) and it simply doesn't work. If I use a 15W charger I can charge the smartphone when turned off, it's just not possible with the 45W charger (and yes, with a 5 Amp cable for super fastr charging). Has anyone tried charging the Galaxy S24 Ultra with a 45W charger (from Samsung or other brand), with the device turned off? And does it work (charge the battery) or do you also have the problem I described above? I wonder if the super fast charging function only works when the device is turned on and that's why it doesn't charge and shows that (weird) humidity message when I try to charge it when it's turned off. That's interesting. I know when it's on or off, super fast charging and super fast charging 2.0 should work on both. I know when it off, it takes maybe 5 seconds to show its charging. Green ring with 1 bolt is fast charging. Blue ring with 2 bolts is super fast charging 2.0. If any issues with charging happens, usually it's the cable. Who knows, maybe the brick is going out somehow if you've owned it for years.
@@jimmyispromo That is true. My Samsung 45W charger is about 4 years old, but I've used it little or nothing. Can I test with a 100W Baseus charger, which I have here, without damaging the S24 Ultra? At least I would like to check if the problem is with the Samsung charger. Before the update I had my screen set to highest contrast in developer sections and I forgot were to look in DS to see the contrast settings. What I want to do is set the contrast back to default 1 cause I have the vividness slider now.
Got the update yesterday. This morning trying to charge the phone and it's going slow as heck. It took an hour to go from 6% to 26% only. And tried 2 different chargers, a 25W and 45W and neither is charging correctly, Before the update it charges fully in just under an hour with the 45W. It says superfast charging 2.0 but isnt going that fast. Even went back to just use the 25W and so far now its been little over hour and a half and only ay 63% Any ideas? Had no charging issues before the update
@@TonyBarger I had the phone off at first since they tend to charge bit faster off, Did restart it once but nothing different. Whole charge took just shy of 2 hours.
Clear cache the whole phone and repair the apps! How to do that turn phone completely off then hold up volume botton and power button at the same time! U should see wipe cache and repair apps
Anyone here having brightness issues with the S24 Ultra? Mine seems darker than my S23 Ultra under the sun. Also my adaptive battery protection is not working as intended. Not staying at 85%, it goes directly to 100% at midnight.
please talk about the camera update. it is WORSE than before the update.. colors are washed away now, take a picture of a building with for exmaple a green object infront of it. now the entire building is green ish. ffs
Other than the fact that I don't see any noticeable change in vividness selection slider. All of the rest of these problems mentioned I don't see. Everything is working just fine on my S24 Ultra after the upgrade. My battery life is fantastic.

There are countless reports of being having phones with screens that never went through the OLED calibration usual for uniform brightness among subpixels, which is something that countless hours of research and expertise have gone into over the last 10 years, ensuring that this kind of "grain" problem, also known as OLED mura, doesn't have to exist on modern OLEDs. Yet here we are, with a sizeable amount of people reporting that they have the issues to varying degrees, including myself on my device. It's just not acceptable. If your device doesn't have it, that's so great for you, but we who paid a small fortune for what's supposed to best Samsung has to offer while getting a garbage, uncalibrated display deserve to be upset and have the damn thing replaced, if not refunded.
@Isaax absolutely, but it doesn't detract from how good the phone actually is in a normal model. I understand it's frustrating getting a faulty unit, you live long enough we all experience this at some point with electronics. I'm not trying to diminish your right to complain, just need to be real about what the phone actually is.
I did nit have any if thise optiin in and had no vivid slider or advance option so I went to settings and typed in reset and use the RESET ALL SETTING and everything was there after

Can't find the vivid slider as Samsung hasn't released the update in New Zealand yet. Useless! Its the 25th Feb here already when the update came out on the 22nd. Samsung starting to become crap.
Same has always done "Rolling Updates" rather then push and go. This way if there is an issue, it hits a smaller percentage than EVERYONE (like apple). Rolling is based on region and then carrier.
@jimmyispromo Fair. The issue is they said the 22nd Feb. NZ is ahead of the rest of the world in time zone and it's already the 25th here. Samsung didn't think about that fact did they. It makes us customers here feel a bit annoyed. I'll rethink Samsung for my next phone. So far their customer support has been junk.
hating my new S24+ after the update I can no longer voice to text. I want to break my phone and I've only had it a day. Why did I switch? I hated my pixel but it had voice to text and the icon never vanished after an update
