Galaxy S24 Ultra vs OnePlus 12 Speed Test - In this episode, we compare the 2 of the fastest Android Phones of 2024 in a variety of tests, share your thoughts, and your pick! Enjoy the showdown!
The OnePlus 12 just looks such a great package for the money. I really think they have knocked it out of the park this time around, probably the best OnePlus since the 7T pro IMO
I have to agree but the op7p was really the best phone at the time. The op12 feels like a top tier phone but isn't night and day better than the competition or vice versa. I do think they win in term of value.
Sad, every smartphjone company has fallen since the time of the 7tPro. The complete display and insane features and the Greated of all time OxygenOS for a small price was unbeieveievlievble.
Got my OnePlus 12 delivered y'day..using OnePlus again after 6 years..wow pleasantly surprised with the display, performance, features, battery life, charging speeds, heat management and especially the smoothness/fluidity is next level. Features wise and the experience feels like it's a combination of an iPhone and Galaxy. It offers so much for the price. Congrats OnePlus!! The 'flagship killer' is back.
I feel as though app opening is not a huge deal especially since most phones are fast AF. I believe that in app performance is the real test, how well the app works while it’s open and being used is more important. Just like the iPhone having a 6 core cpu is able to beat out most phone it’s because the work well in app also they are very well optimized now days. I feel like the overall experience is a better way to show the speed of a phone. Great videos Nick love your unbiased opinions on our gadgets!
Let me tell you. Once you used oneplus brand. You will never plan to switch to other brand. I am samsung fans before but when i got oneplus 7+ back 2019 . I never tried any other brand anymore... I used samsung, iphone, xiaomi but never impressed than ONEPLUS.. Mark my word.. Oneplus is the BEAST.
I use iphone 5 switch to one plus 3 but it broke I dropped it in less than a year and switched to tablet s4 and I use iPhone 14 Pro Max now I regret it I wish I compared it to other phones and bought one plus instead just half the price 😢
I used S9 + S10. + S21 ultra + S22 ultra and now i bought the one plus.. what shocked me most is how fast this phone charges its battery.. its amazing fast and it comes with a charger that can charge my laptop too .. Samsung ripped me off so many times but never more.. goodbye samsung.
You won't notice that on real life .. my old oppo A9.2020 usage was so heavy.. i ise it on charger 5/6hrs in day by playing games mainly pubg .. that still give me 1 whole day battery on normal usage
I would say One Plus 12 so far is the best Value phone of the year so far. But S24 Ultra is the Best Android phone so far due to the better cameras, more features like SPen and AI stuff, better software support etc
@@Cad7TB your probably right but I think you have to factor price , Porche doesn't always win car of the year even though it usually is because value is definitely a trait and factor , s24 ultra is double the price in most areas of the world , that said if both phones were equal price I would imagine s24 ultra would be the pick
@@Dx-so7jm if that's the case then based on price the S24+ with the SD 8Gen3 should be the proper comparison ($800 vs $1000). And S24+ might be a better deal cuz better software support, better ecosystem, better resell value, more compatible with Carriers, more features and arguably better camera.
Ive been going into developer settings onto my android phones for year's now, and turning ALL my different animation speeds on my phone at 0.5. Makes everything CRAZY snappy. Opens IMMEDIETLY without the animation lag.
@ulysses4989 I dont think so. On my S24Ultra. It looks GORGEOUS on regular speed. Looks exactly as gorgeous on .5x speed! Except INSANELY snappier and nicer too use!
@mayankmarshall samsung did open faster, and It loaded more than oneplus. We don't talk about animation. It's just the same and almost no effect performance
Dont forget the price difference from samsung, the vapor chamber, charging speed, battery lifespan, being able to cooldown while playing in a specific game scenario and brightness.Ofcourse samsung has a better camera and more features but in my opinion oneplus is worth every penny compared to samsung
There are settings adjustments you can play with on OnePlus like increasing animation speed or turning off the animation.. You can speed up animations, refresh rate, set a higher performance mode etc.. Personally I like to turn the fingerprint animation off. I barely see the animation anyway and it makes it slightly faster
I had an OP8T and let me tell you it had more lags, stuttering and bugs than any samsung I have ever used. On top of that the overheating was insanly concerning.
Can you compare the smoothness of the system, Interface, stability, in the next video. Because I think OnePlus has better smoothness than other phones🤔🤷
The colors on the OnePlus look better in games and it looks clearer. There seems to be more clarity with the OnePlus and the colors are a bit more dull.
I think speed tests are silly, I would rather see how the software experience is different for each, camera experience, file management experience, photo management experience and features, texting experience, phone call experience, and features, and multi-tasking experience and features. Software support and experience is very important, and separates popular and established companies vs underdogs.
I've had 4 OnePlus phones in my life and never have I had one this impressive. The speeds insane. The whole user experience is great. And it looks gorgeous. Very happy with the phone. And buying the phone at launch and trading in my old OnePlus 8 I got 320 dollars off for the 16gb ram , 512gb storage model.
you can also Make faster Animations in Samsung By going to developer options , BTW Samsung Also has more Features and S Pen . It also has Maximum Performance Mode Option in Setting you must have to turn it on . Love Samsung S24 ultra😍
I just got OnePlus 12 today. I upgraded from S22 Ultra Exynos. I also had Note 20 Ultra before S22. And yeah, all I can say is that Samsung is overpriced and Exynos chips have a lot of problems. I can't believe how OnePlus feels so smooth compared to my S22.
I can play call of duty mobile on Max graphics max frames run discord have my Xbox controller hooked up and my earbuds and my phone does not get hot it gets warm not hot I bet you can't say that about the 24 ultra The OnePlus 12 is an absolute beast I don't need AI on my phone I need a phone that works but just does what it's supposed to do and the OnePlus 12 is that phone
It depends on which OS one likes or is used to or prefers. Cant go wrong with either one. Me personally I like Samsung's OS and went ahead with S24 Ultra. Been using Samsung mobiles for decades and I dont want to change that. App opening and closing and how long the apps are open doesnt matter to the average customer like us only tech reviewers like doing that. If your whatsapp opens faster Samsung phone then it doesnt mean that Oneplus is bad. In the end it doesnt matter just buy what you LIKE
I ordered the OnePlus 12 today since my OnePlus 7 Pro is breaking down and entering obsolescence. Despite OnePlus's problems, they still make some of the best phones out there. I've had Galaxys before and it was a nightmare using those phones.
I really wanted the S24 Ultra for the rectangular screen but for the price, I decided to pre-order the OnePlus 12 as I feel it offers the better value!
I've had s22 ultra for 2 years as soon as I got op10t I haven't used 22 ultra also never used the s pen and the op charges speed is insane I'm getting 12
im debating between the two. On one end, the op12 is a really strong phone, but on the other, after using the oneplus 7 pro for awhile, there are some things about it that I hope is fixed in the oneplus 12. I guess I'll have to wait to see how both perform after a few months
Beautiful smartphones but I go with the S24 ultra or S24 plus. The price of the one plus 12 is really tempting but it has its reasons for being cheaper compare to the S24 ultra or S24 Plus. With the S24 ultra or S24 Plus you are getting the best of the best in a smartphone in 2024 in every aspect.
no there is no high performance mode on the s24 ultra . because samsung have secretly enabled it in the background and disbaled that option in the front end . cheap tricks to show tht it is faster than oneplus 12
Hello Sir kindly reply. Just bought OnePlus 12 512gb variant. They claimed battery last for 1-2 days. My sot is 7hrs. How come? Medium usage. No gaming,. social media and RU-vid, with minimal camera operation. What settings to keep off, or on?
I have the s24 ultra. But im very curious about the oneplus 12. Normally, I get the ultra , use for a few weeks, and then get the oneplus as buttery smooth is paramount for me. This year is a bit more difficult as the s24 ultra is a lot smooter than the past. Let's hope it stays this way
The S24U is faster. But is it $500 faster? I don't think so. How about that screen on the OP? So much nicer looking than the S24u. At least, in this video. And the battery! OP12 charges faster wirelessly than S24u does plugged in.
The s24 ultra reloaded all the apps after jetpack joyride. It is just so quick but they did reload. (I own the ultra and it is a bit aggressive on the killing side)
It's not reloading. It's just that Samsung's animations suck really bad. There's a solid white/black splash screen making it look like an app reloaded. But all apps were exactly where Nick left off.
I recently came across your channel, great content. Thanks for the videos on actual apps users use consistently, (calc, clock, weather, socials, amazon, etc). You sold me on the OP12. Was gonna get the S24U but I'm trading in my S22U and getting the OP for $600 with the trade in value. Couldn't pass it up. I know I'm giving up amazing build quality, flat display and better cameras on the S24U, but OP really did an amazing job. IMO I would use the phone better than I would use the S24. Plus, $600 after trade in vs $1000 after trade in is a no brainer 🙂
9:41 YES the oneplus 12 has the first cryo velocity vapour chamber ( just a fancy way to say a HUGE copper based cooling chamber infact the biggest in any phone as of now )
Not sure if any one noticed, every time the Samsung was faster, Nick's finger was fraction of a second quicker to launch the app. Otherwise, when it was exactly the same time, they launched the same.
s24 ultra ain't worth 1300. Samsung tries to be like apple but doesn't own the OS. To me their pricing is out of line when every company makes an android phone.
It's the Samsung interface that annoys you over a period of time. It boots late and once you unlock it still takes time. It sucks with network as well.
Overall the S24 Ultra is a better phone, however for the dollar for value, the OnePlus 12 is a better phone. Both are just great. This is coming from an iPhone user. Thinking of switching again.
The Pixel 8 Pro been real quiet since OnePlus 12 dropped. C'mon Nick, give us a Pixel 8 Pro vs OnePlus 12 video. Just one video that isn't focused on Pixel 8 Pro camera.
The OP 12 throttled on Geekbench and the S24U throttled on Antutu because u dident let the phones cool down before These Tests. Usually they would have much closer results on both Tests.
no resale value for one plus after 2 years....Samsung and apple commands more than 90% market share, rest is shared by google, Motorola and all these....even with 16gb ram and low price, its still not a phone to buy.
I've owned a oneplus 9, at first .. the phone was amazing. Then the real issues came out, it was like it was deteriorating as i was using it. They were also banned from benchmarks for trying to manipulate the speed tests. I was tempted with the oneplus 12, but remebering the struggles of constant over heating, when basically doing nothing. Restarts would happen almost every other day and bluetooth would cut out at short ranges. There spec sheet says alot also, but its hard to really trust anything they do anymore. I got a fold 4 now, traded it in for 24 ultra. I had the 21 fe after the oneplus 9 and that was even a upgrade for just how consistently the phone worked.
@Alextrino it wasn't like I just gave up instantly on the phone, I used it for 6 months. People still have the random restarts on the oneplus. When you got multiple apps open and trying to send out a crucial email or text and that happens... yikes. Oneplus 12 design is amazing but the actual software and added features won't hold up.
@@Ilovecrumble I mean, never happened to me, but that might be because I use my phone lightly. I agree it may not be the best OS available, but it for sure is better than some other
I have the 8pro and the software is a catastrophe. the list of those details that are annoying is just endless. now the phone wants to keep the display on forever when I get a notification, or randomly I lights up and stays lighted forever. but it doesn't matter, the next problem will be there in short time anyway.
The S24 ultra has an advantage with its 8 gen 3 processor for Galaxy, unlike the Oneplus 12, but they are still almost equal, I love how it manages heating better, the Oneplus does it a lot Better I love its fast charging. It seems to me that Oneplus is doing quite well compared to Samsung, they are very on par, thanks for the test👋🏻
I was aware of the Samsung having virtual RAM expansion, but not of OnePlus having this feature (it must be post 7t Pro McLaren that had 12gb of RAM; that was the model I used to have).
Honestly, unless it's 5 seconds of the delay, majority of users won't care about the 0.001 second difference in opening an app. Especially with the price difference.
Oneplus phones are fast & smooth no doubt ..it's not like the s24 is slow But that's their specialty ...you can't blame galaxy s24 ultra for the 0.5 second of slow
You can get fast speeds opening anything initially....let the phones game on max graphics and FPS settings and the sammy will hands down be the first to roast your already warm hands. Especially in a room thats 80°F without air conditioning. The OP12 has the best heat management period... scientific fact. Look into it. One plus camera is phenomenal....Hasselblad , enough said. Plus 2GB RAM more and SuperVOOC charging with the OnePlus12?! Done! OP12 eats Sammy for lunch.
I really wish oneplus went away from the curved screen. Because if it wasn’t for that, I would have upgraded by now. But the curved screen on my 7t pro is honestly my least favorite feature.
