I use it as a work phone still and yeah straight up beast still holds up with the best can do absolutely everything new phones can do i recommend that phone to anyone who has midrange phones like i tell them you need to get s7 off amazon or ebay its soo cheap now such a good deal for what you get really
@@BlazingIndica I've had my Samsung Galaxy S7 for almost 3 years now and I don't have my screen burn in. I use this thing EVERY single day for hours, I've taken it on road trips and even went to Mexico and back twice and this phone still holds up. There's obviously some issues like battery and some bugs on apps like Instagram and RU-vid but that's not something I can really fix and the battery still has decent life after daily use.
@@BlazingIndica I'd also like to note that I live in a very hot place (avergae summer days are between 85 to 100+ degrees farenheit) and I keep my phone in my pocket when I'm out and about so the heat adds up but luckily this phone still works like a charm.
+JerryRigEverything If they use some tech on their electronics, like the P2i liquid repellent solution, it doesn't matter if the back comes off a little. But who knows... Anyway, too bad its back scratches so easily.
4 Years later and I'm still using my S7 Edge though it did cost me $200 for replacement battery and screen about a year ago, Samsung service centre insisted I replace both even though the battery life was fine. Still loving the camera and screen with no plans to change it anytime soon.
Haris Gr If the microfiber cloth is dirty (dust, sand and so on) it is possible to scratch the surface of the fingerprint sensor. My Nexus 4 display got scratched to death from what looked like dust, but they were tiny sand particles in there. (Locker in gym)
can't believe i've been having this phone without edge for almost 4 yrs now and it dropped at least 50times, never shattered i'm gonna get a new one next month but it was cool to watch this. def one of the best galaxies
It's 2023,and I'm still rocking the old S7. After all,why not? It does everything i need it to do,and i sure as hell don't need one of these new fancy phones with all the bells and whistles. And plus, for an older phone,i think it's still stellar, even by today's standards. The camera is excellent. It's plenty fast enough for me(i know their are phones that are 4 Times faster and the camera is a 100 times better) But all that stuff doesn't matter to me. Still takes great pictures, and i don't really care that i can't download a movie in 7 seconds. I can wait the extra time.
I have the S7 Edge myself, amazing phone. I had it since launch (March 11) and I have only spotted one very small mark on the front glass. Back is perfectly fine, even without a case I did not get any noticable scratches/marks. Very happy with the phone
+JerryRigEverything Possible explanation to your burn tests... AMOLED displays utilizes thin film technology, so you could imagine each pixel to be it's own mini LED. The semiconducting material used is sensitive to heat in such that heat will permanently alter the conducting characteristics of the material thus damaging them forever. IPS LCD displays on the other hand uses crystals in a slushie substrate. The crystal material is sensitive to magnetic fields such that the orientation can be changed through induced electromagnetic fields. The crystal material has a curie temperature (the temperature which magnetism no longer affects the material) and when heated to the curie temp the crystals are no longer influenced by electromagnetic forces and the pixels turn black because no light is being directed out. But once the crystal temperature begins to drop they regain their magnetic properties and they realign with the electromagnetic field and the display return to normal.
+Matheus Caixista Great question, So behind and infront of the liquid crystal layer is several layers of thin plastic light films that bend and direct the light evenly across the screen. My assumption would be that the layer just outside the liquid crystal has been heated too much, either the color filter or one of the conducting films that help point the crystals and now the crystals are stuck in the "on" position so that is why it is white in that spot instead of turning back normal.
I watched a few of your videos and all I can say is that I hate you for abusing all those brand new phones. On the other hand it's good to know that my S7 Edge is fairly unbendable, so keep up the good work
You would also do a scratch test of the fingerprint sensor on these devices. Some, like the Nexus 5X and 6P are made out of plastic, while others are made out of glass, even sapphire like the iPhone.
Hey! Quick question. What is the type of glass used for the camera lens? Is there a specific name for it? doing this for a school project. Thanks for the help!
It only broke at the sides because you were putting and extreme amount of pressure on it. It's not unique, every phone breaks. There is no such thing as industructable - in Day-to-day terms.
A visit from the future, i have next to me the galaxy s10 and oneplus 8 pro, and at midnight i use my old galaxy s7 edge to watch some videos and i can say i loved my old phone much more after this video
well all i need to just it just one word this guys is crazier not only those phone expensive it also very difficult and impossible you can buy this phone so new just launching in market in US this guys only 2 day he can show us awesome video that how tough that phone could handling thanks for your very value video to us for totally unknown all everything including your recently releasing iPhone 7
Zack I feel like I need to let you know, I dropped my s22 ultra on the floor face down and it completely shattered, I sent it to samsung for repairs. I had to put my old s7 edge back into service but first had to watch your durability test.
that's impressive. i like samsung more and more from generation to generation but i can't get over their design. exept for the design they do very many things right! thanks for the video! looking forward to the teardown!
+Marvin Klein Really ? that is weird because everybody loves the new premium design, its the general belief that Samsung has the best looking phones on the planet especially the edge deviced
Allister Vyphuis nah, hated the design eversince. i don't like the idea of a pressable home button and i'm annoyed by the back- and recents-key being in the "wrong" order (google intends for the back button to be on the left). the round corners i find particularly ugly and that the s7 is more rounded in general does not please me at all to be honest. i have the oneplus 2 and i find the fingerprint sensor in the form of a samsung-home-button very ugly. with the 2 i like that i am able to change the order of the hardware back- and recents-key to which i prefer. hardware-wise the new samsung devices are top notch though
You got your hands on one very fast! :) Thank you for the video. I preordered mine already. The video I am waiting for is a bend test of the LG G5.... especially at the "modular connection"... I have a feeling that thing will snap off with barely any effort...
wow, I'm pretty impressed with the scratch test! Go Samsung! I'm really glad this phone is pretty durable all around, as I am a bit hard on phones. Being that it is almost entirely encased in glass (and that I am clumsy), I bought an Otterbox case immediately. It isn't a guarantee since the force of an impact or direct weight on the phone can still shatter the glass (especially the unprotected screen), but it is definitely a necessary precaution against small falls from your pocket. I have dropped mine several times in the month I have had it without any noticeable difference. But, definitely try to *prevent* it from dropping when you can, as I felt some kind of component/s vibrate slightly when I was absent mindedly tapping my phone on my thigh the other day.
