I know it is out of time but you really helped me out here. I was about to throw away the phone when the local repair store told me it needs the logic board to be replaced and told me that the cost is too high for that. Hi Man, thank you so much for your inspirational guide :) Only a suggestion, if I can: I was more comfortable by using a suction cup to rise the cover on the middle side of the edge of the phone instead of the cutter: I've warmed the s7 edge cover by the phon and in the meanwhile I've lift the edge by the suction cup as much as I could insert the plectrum (or a card); after I've continued warming the edge as long as I was gently advancing with the pick, all along the edge of the phone, without haste. The hardest task for me is to open the cover without breaking it! Many thanks and great job, guy!

Hello...Because my s7 edge is little bit modificied (there are some additional wires connected with the screen) the service told me that there is risk that maybe the touch may not work if they change the motherboard..What do you think should i try to change it, cause i see that this is so easy..Thanks and the tutorial is awesome...

Some of it will be yes. If you have a external memory card on it then some of it will be stored on that.

stupid question.....sooo i have 2 s7 edges one will work with my new phone plan and its unlocked its a verizon but is shattered....my other is in mint condition but is sprint can i just swap out mother boards and what not from the verizon one to my sprint not broken one to make it a working verizon phone or is there more to it

Not a dumb question at all. As far as I know that should work to just swap the two boards. The main thing is if you open them up and compare your boards side-by-side as long as all the places it connects to things are in the same location same size connector same shape board etc. it should work.

How and where did you get the motherboard? The technicians know its the motherboard. I have the duos version. Will it matter if I get a motherboard thats from a different model?

the duos mobo is a bit expensive, about $250 . If you are not installing self , technician charges $80 for install. For now , I downgraded to a samsung J7 2017 and plan to take my Duos to India and fix there. labor is alot cheaper. That said, Im really impressed with the J7 specs You can hardly tell the difference on processor speed. The Ram is 1GB less and internal hard drive 32GB less, but most my data is on cloud so i dont care for storage space.

It should be pretty good if you re-seal it properly. Chances are it won’t be as perfect as from the factory though.

Very clear video. My S7 edge recently wont on/off I tried to reset but still no- Take it to repair shop, battery ok, power button ok, charging port ok. Will all my contacts and data work on the new phone or is there something else I need to switch also ? And my phone is on ATT, if I buy a sprint or Verizon s7 edge will that matter ? Yeah the motherboard should be all you need to swap. The only thing I’m not sure about is if there’s any difference between the att and Verizon Verizon in terms of how it fits. I can’t say for sure on that part. You could maybe do some research on that part of in doubt maybe you can find another att one.

I have 2 S7 Edge phones, one of them is hard bricked, absolutely nothing comes up no matter what combination of buttons I press, or if I connect it to a PC or a charger. I even bought an USB Jig to try to fix the phone with that but it didn't help either. I have another S7 Edge which has a damaged digitizer, the top of the screen is sometimes visible, the lower two third of the screen is just lines of whiteish greenish colors flickering all the time. If I remove the motherboard from the bricked phone and replace it with the one from the other phone, that should result in 1 working S7, right? Or am I missing something?

My S7 Edge has a broken lcd connector (nothing on display but phone functions like normal. I am able to unlock with fingerprint and also using passkey). I've had it diagnosed and replacement of motherboard is the solution that the repair guy came up with. Will motherboard replacement solve the issue?

Smart Easy Repair yes there is a crack in the motherboard with the broken LCD connector. The service guy told me that there's a very less chance of phone working with the connector replaced but will definitely work with the motherboard replaced. Your thoughts?

My S7 Edge is completely frozen after a boot loop. There's one blue lcd light on all the time but the phone doesn't react to anything, soft/hard reset/ I've tried all possible key combo's but the phone remaines unresponsive. I've also tried going back to factory settings, but alas ... Could this be a motherboard issue aswel?

No. The data is on the motherboard. So if you put in another one your data won't be there.

Do you have any on an external card? I believe yes if the motherboard is damaged and you can’t start the phone then whatever is on the board is not recoverable.

Hi, I do have a phone which is actually blocked by a carrier, I tried looking online who can give me a code but upon checking the IMEI I was informed that the phone was blocked and reported. It's a samsung galaxy S7 edge. I rang a phone tech they do not have the codes to unblocked the phone either. The only way to make the phone working with a simcard is to replace the mother board I was told. They were charging for 500 dollars. By the looks of your video seemed to be easy since I've changed few ipad digitisers. If I change the mother board will the phone be unblocked? and able to use to other simcard?

I believe the phone is 64 GB... so when you mentioned right carrier is that mean the motherboard has a carrier? Sorry bro I'm new to this phone solution.

+Don BOSS The motherboard determines what carrier it works on and how many gigabyte memory sizes on it and it carries that Imei serial number too so make sure that it to clean serial number.

+Kinjal Gaur yes it'll change your IMEI if you change the board. Not sure if there is another fix for bootloop. You could try disconnecting the battery and reconnecting and see if that helps first.

i installed from play store spotify, and then the app crashed and my phone died. i can't boot up, even in safe mode or force reboot. How can i fix this? Maybe its the logic board?

Smart Easy Repair My s7 edge got error like unfortunately google play service has stopped, RU-vid has stopped, and it will restart and get struck on Samsung logo screen. Service ppl are saying that they will replace the motherboard. Is it fine to do that ? Because my s7 edge is just 3 months old. Am scared

So I dropped my s7 edge in the pool and took it for repair and the guy told me the logic board doesn't work and needed to be replace and it is expensive (removed insurance months before. I know, lesson learned). My question is: My wife has the same phone but her glass and lcd are broken. Can I move her logic board to my phone? My phone was in perfect like new conditions so maybe she can take advantage of that?

i broke my sim card when my sim card tray broke in the phone i took out the pieces and inserted my sim card but it didnt work should i install a new sim card reader or buy a new logic board

+jmoneyent9 It might be worth removing the logic board in checking the contacts on the board for the Sim card make sure they're not bent or anything.

My old phone is broken, it took a hit which broke the screen, and now it wont even charge to be used blindly, ie: so I can get my stuff off there. I have a a TONNE of important memos, screenshots, photos, and recordings... If I buy another model, and swap the motherboard like this, will it essentially be like a new phone with all my stuff still on it? Please advise, I'm REALLY at a loss here 😢🙏🏼

Yes if you get an identical phone I think you should be able to swap it over and access your info. I don’t remember if these have microSD cards if so, some of your info might be on that too.

Thank you brother. I followed your guide, and felt like a surgeon! 😝 Unfortunately, my board was still just dead in the other phone 😂😭 So im assuming its that which is the issue..? Damn... Really needed this.. was still worth a try tho. Thanks again man

Hi Mate - My S7 is currently stuck in a loop where it keeps rebooting, the phone turns on okay but can't really get past the lock screen due unresponsiveness and then it just reboots again. I have photos that I want to get off the phone but currently cannot connect to the PC. Will replacing the motherboard delete all my photos?
