my most memorable game of Galaxy Trucker was winning with an overall negative score. I think we had some of the random events from the expansions and everyone's ships fell apart so much and it was just a case of who did least bad. But so chaotic and hilarious that it still made it great fun.
Yay, we like this game too. I think we have the newer edition, cards seem more readable than what I see here, might be worth upgrading. The ship building we take it with a pinch of salt to make sure everyone has a good time, we help out the last player who can't put their tiles right, and love when our mates lose have of their ships to haemorrhoids. Quality fun that is. Like the other stuff. 🎉
Just building the ships is a pain. In. The. Arse. However, since the point is to watch helplessly as all the ships are torn apart, and it doesn't take long, the setup is forgivable. This one is fun because it's the opposite of the typical master strategist/ power gamer mentality most modern games seem to be shooting for. It's pure silly fun for everyone and ultimately just hilarious if you win with a little hunk of junk.
Good review thank you. I have been looking at this for a few years and decided it is not something I can get to the table on a regular basis. But using the tablet version might work for me to play solo.
Brings memories that one, one of the first games in my second, more intentional board game collecting sprees. In a way, it was quite ahead of its time - being essentially both physical and mental dexterity game, simultaneous for the large part and (although cheesy) a rulebook that dared to be written in a different way - so many elements combined in a game that works well, for what it is. Had a good laugh from the review, well done mate. Seriously. No, seriously. Wink, wink, nudge, nudge.
Galaxy Trucker is great and the artwork of the 2nd edition is also way less "this game was clearly made in the nineties" (even if it was published in 2007), which is great! Not a lot of fun to play against very competitive players though ;)
OoO also got The Game Of Life from 1986 at Goodwill pay like around $6 for it and I think all the pieces there might be missing few insurance and a few of them are ripped other then that I think it was a great deal
Just staring the video you fuck'n ball breaker. I love this game. One of my all time favorites. Totally unique, totally hectic, and totally fun. You better sing it's praises! I will not tolerate some guy across the ocean slagging one of my top 5 games! EDIT: Good. Good good you like it. I don't have to call BOLLOCKS on you. I just looked up the 2nd edition. The art is for sure updated, but I think I still like the 1st edition more art more. The 2nd edition art looks... Kind of like everything else looks these days? Something about the more "retro" art style of the 1st still appeals to me more.
I have the 2nd edition and want to get the expansion and the old edition with expansion but should play the damn games I have now. Just added Qwirkle Cubes, Monopoly TMNT Mutant Mayhem, Monopoly Champion, Monopoly Speed, Monopoly Go Green, Blokus, Jenga Quake and a knock off of Trouble called Pop N' Drop Penguin witch i got for free kind like it better then Trouble little more umm character to it I think.
I haven't tried it yet. It's in the closet. I would have to go into the closet, grab it, and then come out of the closet. There's a first time for everything, and maybe I'll play the game too.
The anal of board gaming eh.... So is Galaxy Trucker also easier if you spit on it and never to played after a kebab? Cheers Mr T.... I actually found this video useful, as ive never even looked at this game before, but it looks like it might actually be a one for my family. They'd probably like this.
