Galaxy Watch 4 Classic Long Term Review 

It's crazy to me that a watch has more RAM than a vast majority of Home Computers had in the early 2000's.

Even though battery life is the common complaint in smart watches you really have to look at the big picture. These things have higher specs than home desktop computers had in the early 2000s. The fact that they can even go up to two days without a charge is genuinely impressive especially considering I have to charge my cellphone about every one to two days.

Good review, thanks! I actually love the battery life on my watch 4 Classic. I run always on display and tilt to wake, and it lasts a full day with like 20% to spare at the end of the night. That's with a 4 mile run at the start of the day. So that's good enough for me. I can use it to its fullest. I charge it every night like my phone, no big deal for me. Never tried to do multiple days, though!

I have been thinking about getting this to go with my fold3, missed out on the new offer of a free watch4 when you buy the fold3, I did get £200 cashback which was nice. I think I will pick on of these watches up after this video, very I formative man. Keep it up

Love this watch so far - I have had it for a week now. It detects my physical exertion while cleaning the yard and garage and counts it as "other workout" including heart rate and calories, which is helpful in counting all of my daily strenuous activity, even if it is not technically "exercise".

Thanks for your review. Just curious how the battery life has held up a yr later. Read some reviews that battery life reduced to 4-6 hrs. Does it currently still give you 1 to 2 days of use without charging?

Is there any durability issues with the rotating bezels why did Samsung remove them from the newer versions. They won't restock the classic going forward i can't even find the sliver 46mm on At&t

Seriously, Samsung's watch is unmatched. I still have the Galaxy Watch 2 (2014) and it works perfectly. That was before we could use the phone independent of the phone so that's the only down side of it. I just got the 4 so I guess I will keep this for almost 10 years lol.

Hello, I am planning to change from Huawei watch GT 2 sport to Galaxy watch 4 classic 46mm. I am very afraid from the battery time. Huawei could take 8 days with full usage and 14 days with light usage. My question would be, if I will turn everything off on galaxy watch 4 classic 46mm, just only the night sleep mode on and maybe measure the blood pressure at every 10 minutes ( so bluetooth OFF, Wifi OFF, ECG OFF, Always on display OFF, hands up turn on mode OFF. ) What will be the real usage time without charging? 1 or 2 or 3 days maybe? Anybody has experience on that?

great review unfortunately i had to return my galaxy watch 4 classic. had the LTE version (tmobile) as soon as my watch got disconnected from the bluetooth my watch started to overheat i thought it was just me but many users have the same problem on phone calls.. also no samsung email so i wasn't able to get all my emails the only option was outlook and that was hit or miss. maybe the bluetooth only version works better. the new technology is great but it doesn't fit my needs as i have the old galaxy watch i use every day without issues. once again great review.

Any sign of Google assistant update not keen on Bixby or whatever Samsung call it.

Quick question, I have a Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 Classic - Wi-Fi version (not LTE) and I was told that if my phone and watch lose Bluetooth connectivity and my watch is still connected to Wi-Fi I would be able to make calls from my watch via my Wi-Fi connection. This feature is not working! I'm very frustrated, is this or is it not a thing?

ROTATING BEZEL? Everyone blogs about the wonderful rotating bezel as if it is a good thing. I was one of the first to get the new GW4 Classic. Loved the concept of the rotating bezel and the hefty look of the GW4 Classic at the time, but be aware that the bezel is a magnet for dust, soap, sweat, debris. I first noticed bezel problems from sawdust when cutting a 2x4 and then from flour baking over the holidays and also after dirt biking in the desert. When the satisfying rotating bezel stops rotating it is a game changer. I quickly went from loving the watch to hating it. One more thing to consider is that in most cases the classic bezel requires two finger operation (unless it is silky smooth which doesn't last). As you can expect, Samsung doesn't consider this issue a warranty claim and also emphasized that the bezel is NOT removable. After much disappointment I was ready to toss it in the trash. I decided I had nothing to lose so I attempted to remove the bezel to see what was causing the horrible resistance. I'm happy to say that the bezel is removable. It is a simple design. There are no wires or complicated parts that need calibration. Just clean it and put it back the way you it and clicks back into place. This process requires extreme care (small delicate parts) so only attempt at your own risk. Using a razor blade from a box cutter or a guitar pick may also work, I pried up the bezel. Underneath is a delicate plastic ring (remember what side is up when you remove the plastic ring). The plastic ring is not a complete circle...it has a break in it, but it is not broken so don't freak out. Next there are four of the smallest ball bearings you will ever see each sitting in small holes under the bezel and they are loose so prepare a good work area and don't tilt the watch if you can help it to prevent losing them. A white work surface is best to see them better. The ball bearings are the size of the head of a pin. I put the ball bearings and plastic ring in a safe place and started cleaning everything with toothpicks, Q tips rubbing alcohol and canned air (watch those ball bearings when using the canned air). There was very little obvious gunk...hardly any, but I cleaned it as if there was. reassembled it by putting the plastic ring in the bezel first then holding it over the watch and clicking it into place pressing down evenly not to lose the ball bearings. It clicking into place easily and the bezel now working again. It saved the watch from going in the trash. Still with the bezel finally rotating smoothly, It still takes two fingers to rotate (annoying to me) and I feel the bezel will likely build resistance again eventually. I decided to trade in my Classic for the GW4. There are great promotions going on now that allow me to get a new watch with a fresh battery for almost an even swap with trade-in. Sleeker design, lighter, resists crap better, fewer moving parts and one finger bezel operation is something to consider. Some may not have any issues with their bezels, but in everyday life I found it hard to avoid and I don't want to leave it at home. Just want to let you know. Still love the watch just and use it daily.

If you're looking at this watch in December 2022, eBay sellers has them for like $109+ as refurb! In my opinion, the Samsung Watch 5 pro is NOT worth it since they removed the mechanical bezel and it's basically the same exact watch! So why pay much more for something that isn't better?

Hm, 48 hours is good for a modern smart watch... The real problem is whether it actually has 48 hours....

as much as i want to buy this watch, seeing huawei watches lasting 2weeks battery life made me decide to buy it instead. having not to worry your watch running low on battery is waaaaay better than having all those features and charging it daily.

My note 9 got ran over on jagged rocks and that was the end of that. Bought a S22 Ultra and a Galaxy Watch 4 classic. Thats enough spending for the next 2 years sheesh this stuff is expensive.

My watch charges fine on my generic charging stand with a spot for the watch, phone and buds.

Its better than a watch has only one day battery life so you can remember to charge it everyday. I had one that lasted 14 days and I would always forget to charge it.

Is it better than the apple watch though?

I like the watch, but the battery life is not so good. I think its because its just to much hardware for such a small battery. Also auto workout detection doesn't always work.

My Galaxy Watch 4 Classic got wet in the swimming pool. Even though I bought the watch in November 2021, Samsung said that because it got wet it is NOT under Warranty and I need to pay $198 to repair it. I said no. My watch is being returned to me WITHOUT it being fixed. IP 68 and swim proof is only good as long as the watch does not get wet inside. I am NEVER going to buy another Galaxy Watch again.

My biggest complaint and the reason i am retuning the classic is very WEAK vibration! It does not wake me if i use it as an alarm and in a deep sleep. My galaxy watch active (3yrs old) has a stronger vibration. Back to my 3yr old watch! Hopefully the Galaxy 5 is better, if so ill upgtade then.

Need reboot.. need software update.. not so great battery life.. bla bla bla..

The purchase of the Galaxy Watch 4 or in my case the Classic became a necessity for the reason that the Galaxy Watch Tizen is now obsolete as it is not able to be paired for either making or receiving calls... The LTE feature is pointless for all of us who carry our phones everywhere we go - instinctively!

It's crazy... only 24 to 48 hours???....... I can remember when the first real handheld cell phones came out... they had batteries as big as 4 of the classic 44mm and you hardly got a day out of them..
