Great content. I have the watch4 44mm. With the 5pro update it got, it performs like a beast. And I'm getting 60 hours of use off a single charge with the power saving turned on
I'm one of those weirdos who went from the Galaxy Watch 4 Classic to the Pixel Watch... and I absolutely prefer Google's version of WearOS over Samsung's, especially the fit of the watch itself and with the way notifications are handled. I'm interested to see where Samsung takes the lineup later this year. And I sincerely hope they bring back some kind of physical element, whether it be a rotating bezel or a rotating crown. If they could do that, and ditch the tile style notifications for a traditional list like on other WearOS watches, I'd absolutely be interested in trying a Galaxy watch again.
I'm using watch 5 Pro with always on display and touch to wake function (lift to wake disabled). Even with daily running, boxing exercises and sleep tracking, watch 5 Pro has enough juice to run 2 full days in a single charge. I never used previous Classic versions. So, the absence of physical rotating bazzel is never an issue.
@@rbroccoli_ the point was you had a problem with charging every 1-2days so if you can charge your phone everyday why not your watch every 2days? Fenix 5x is old the oneplus watch can last 14days
I think the reason you need a galaxy device to use all features was because when Samsung got the certification, for example, for the ECG, it was based on them using a galaxy device.
I don't understand the negative that putting notifications on the left is a problem and how is it any different to putting notifications at the bottom anyway? You swipe left instead of swiping up. It's the same. Odd complaint.
I realized that there are not really any good options yet. I have an almost 10 year old original Huawei Watch and all of what is available today looks so so much worse. It also has a true sapphire OLED, almost zero bezel, and hardened anodized stainless steel. It still looks new, screen flawless, body and metal mesh band just tiny scratches, after 10 years of wearing it. The GW5 also seems like it has a bunch of drawbacks. When you're saying it's smooth you can see it lag on screen :) The Apple Watch seems the most advances but only has a day battery life, it's rectangular (just not as good) and it only works with iPhones, which I can't take the home screens and software on. I tried, a few times. It's terrible once you're used to Pixels and customized Samsungs. It seems I still have longer to wait. Maybe in the meantime a Fitbit will fill the gap, just to see notifications, etc, but they're even suffering from paywalls, feature elimination and software delays and huge bugs. Any other suggestions, even if they cost more?
Pixel watch was a huge disappiontment for me and after using Xiaomi S1 Active for couple of months (when some things like apps, sos, calling etc.) stopped working, I've bought Galaxy Watch 5 Pro. Even if it's processor is worse than Snapdragon in TicWatch 3 (not mentioning new generation of Snapdragons).
Not really. I had the Watch 5 Pro and sold it when I got the Pixel Watch. Heart rate tracking is significantly better on the Pixel Watch, it's much more comfortable, has better haptics and smoother performance, and I just think it looks nicer, though that's personal preference.
@@madrobothd It does not have smooth a performance. Did you even watch this video? Samsung watch has a smoother performance. It's noticeable and when it comes to haptics Samsung watch is superior and especially superior in health tracking. Plus it doesn't require you to pay £9 a month for Fitbit
On Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 Pro - if you could just add a section to the app that lets you switch on and off the interactive bezel and allows you to remove the vibration option - to be able to select the bezel speed - so it could be slow, medium of fast when your finger spins the bezel. At the moment, I find spinning the touch bezel far too fast and it's easy to skip options. If I could slow the selection speed down, that would be great! You says that the GW 5 glass is good right on take that watch and drop its on a hard ground or wears it and bump into something and sees if you don't sees no Scratch marks on it. then I would like for you to test the ALPHA GEAR ⌚️ watch and do the same thing. I like my GW 5 44mm but I still would put on a full screen cover protector on it you never knows what might happens that's just opinion it's just like your phone 📱 ppls drops there phone 📱 all the time
I wished Samsung backed their products instead of weaseling out of their warranties. No joke an update that caused issues with the watch and Samsung claims they have to charge money for it because of a non related issue, like a scratch on the side or say it's water damaged when it's a 3 month old device and only exposed to fresh water. They tried to charge me the money I saved from a trade in for a repair that was a software issue.
Man, I hate to break it to ya. But they literally know when there is water damage on a product. Electronics have a type of adhesive that changes color when water touches it. So, if the adhesive is clear, no water damage. If it turns pink, it means water seeped in somehow

@TheNewBlood Dan idk man. My phone was out of warranty as it is two years old. The LCD display went bad somehow with no damage. Despite it being out if warranty. Samsung fixed it free if charge and even sent me a free charger. This was less than a month ago. Idk what to tell ya
I have 3 the GW 5 44MM I LIKE THIS WATCH ⌚ the wristwatch i don't feel it while sleeping 😴 and when the alarm goes off on my phone i use the watch to turn it off not have to touch my phone anymore but iam trying to figer out how to put RU-vid on this good watch and maybe later on iam going to buy the GW 6 Classic to i just wish that Samsung would have put the rotating bezel on all of there's watches ⌚️⌚️⌚️⌚️⌚️ i find that to be way more easy then using your finger all the time or they might gets even smarter where you can jus tak into it for everything .. just like that classic tv show called GETS SMART agent 99 do you remember 👍🏾👌🏾💯🏆🙏🏾👐🏾
Got a free watch 5 for switching to verizon, so I’m kind of excited to try it out. Samsung and fossil are the only two brands making smartwatches I’ve ever liked the look of.
After only a month, I found that the voice functions required me to shout very loudly. The cause was found to be the microphone hole packed full of dirt. A round toothpick works well for cleaning it, but I don't know the risk of damaging it.
An alternative to a toothpick to clean out the mic is using a sewing needle which is a lot smaller than a toothpick, carefully put the needle point in and pick out the dirt being careful to not go too deep into the hole or scratch the watch housing.
Def waiting for those new ones. I'm still on my 2.5 year old Honor Magic Watch 2 (Huawei GT2) and I can't believe how only at best 2 days of charge is the best it gets still. Still! Vs 2 freakin WEEKS on mine. As I'm typing this, I've only just charged my watch for the 2nd time since 2022 FFS! Not saying I even need that much but if it can go that long with like 90%+ of the functionality as WearOS can't somebody offer 100% of the functionality with something even close to 90% of that battery life? I seriously don't understand why there's such a massive gap other than Google's assistant and apps sap battery all day beaming data or something. But then mine's a Huawei built device... isn't it beaming my data directly to Xi's desk 😆?
I also don't understand why. Considering galaxy watch eats a lot of battery even on idle it seems like really bad design choice. I own myself watch 4 and I bought huawei gt 2 pro to my younger brother. I was surprised thata Huawei performs so well and the OS is good. You can install additional apps if you need. If they added function to answer your chats then I cannot thing of anything else that samsung watch can stand out with.
I have a galaxy watch5 lte (40mm) expected to be delivered today. I have AT&T as my cellular provider. My question is do I need to set it up with the lte service immediately, or can I do that at a later date, using it with BT only for a while? Also, (not sure if you can answer this), will AT&T easily switch my service from a stand-alone Galaxy Tab E tablet to my galaxy watch?
Great point on the Samsung underhanded attempts at lock-in and the less than ideal Play store content (shady indeed). In the need for a smartwatch this year, I felt the Pro 5 was really my only option (battery life, google integration and a watch that didn't look like a toy were my biggest requirements). That said, I try to avoid Samsung due to their underhanded tactics, if you make the best device, you shouldn't have to resort to preventing capabilities for no other reason than product tie-ins (we'd come willingly if we weren't forced). Between that and not having alternative messaging apps at our disposal (Signal, Telegram, Skype, Teams) there are some annoyances (they still grate on my nerves but not bad enough to switch yet). They're only doing what Apple does. I'd agree if it wasn't for the fact Samsung make the best Android phones. Blaming Samsung for third party app developers not developing messaging apps for WearOS is an odd thing to do. I'd like WhatsApp because no one users SMS still outside of North America. Google Messages is solid though and Gmail/Google Calendar are better. I've got the Pro 5. It's great. 3.5 days better with AOD and Heart rating monitoring off. I had the OG Galaxy Watch but Tizen made it not very useful. Its much better on WearOS.
@@bradavon Hello Bradavon, I totally agree on your Apple comment (that is why I am relieved to say we don't have an Apple ecosystem, it only gets worse over time when you can no longer afford to leave). As for WhatsApp, I also agree but when fb took over, I was concerned that my work phone contacts would be linked to fb contacts over time. Signal has a lot of promise (as does Telegram), they both allow me to use them as messenger apps and have international calls to my family in the US, colleagues across EU or staff further east (even on a PC vs a phone). There is no doubt that Samsung currently makes the best kit, I am just saying that just because Apple is doing it, doesn't make it right, and in this case, we should be cautious.
Samsung and google should start thinking about fixing the aod digital clock overlay "feature" that nobody asked for or wants🤣 Ive noticed that when i have the AOD on and i get a notification, the screen gets all blurry and a digital clock comes over it and it makes the AOD function useless. Wear os 3.5 on the watch 5 pro

Always disconnects the message n call notification but says it's connected to my phone.. alot of money for a watch to just do 1 job it can't do.. restart phone n watch n see it connect get mate to text n call still nothing on watch..
It needs a better way to lock the screen so it stops changing, the faces on its own this is my only annoyance with the watch. Also auto detect is really frustrating, do not wear this whole gameing it will auto detect with alot of games.
I have the option of getting the watch 4 44mm or the watch 5 44mm for just 64usd more, should I pay the extra price to get the Watch 5? Please help me.
Just bought one for $140 black smart 5 bluetooth/wifi. 44mm....lightweight,works great. The strap comfortable, but will wear out soon, too soft for silicone to last long,,,might change it to leather. Well let see, first smart watch I have gotten so far. Newest advanced in softwear,so why not spend that $64more
Here a bit late but I have one. Battery is about a week with 1 hour of exercise tracking a day with aod on for the duration, permanent hr monitoring and average use. Not many apps though via the Huawei store. Plenty of watch faces though
Super annoying to find out that features are locked behind having a Samsung phone. Fortunately I have a Samsung phone, but I really hate the practice... Almost as much as Google locking a bunch of their features behind a subscription paywall. 😩

Pixel Watch putting pressure to Galaxy Watch 4/5? Smaller screen, hilariously bad battery, a ton of basic missing features even Android Wear at 2015 had, slower and older chip than Galaxy Watch, proprietary bands. Right now Huawei Watch GT2, Moto 360, Galaxy Watch 4/5 and Apple Watch 7 are recommendable.
My pixel watch lasts longer than my previous 44mm galaxy watch 4 (I get 1.5 day with the pixel watch), and I kind of like the smaller form factor + it's snappier than the galaxy watch 4 so far and the band système is easier for quick swap. I'm not sure that you actually used the pixel watch
The software is NOT buttery smooth all the time. Example: opening up any app after turning the device on there is noticeable lag that last for a bit. The ticwatch pro 3 is WAY smoother and that watch is a few years old
i'm having a hard time watching this. Im not sure if it's the mic or what but the bass is too loud and the sound is not clear. Almost like you're in a really echoey room
@@TheCodeda it largely depends on what you want. If you have a Samsung phone an like all the Samsung stuff then the watch 5 is not a bad watch by any means. The pixel watch behaves like the pixel phone.. underpowered (in benchmarks) and not as featured next to Samsung flagships, but more smooth and consistent in daily use. It's a no fuss or frills realiable experience.
I find my pixel watch does stutter a lot, has significant lags and will require a full force shut down during updates as it freezes. I'm really quite frustrated with it! I wish I had a smooth performance like you describe, since it's certainly a nicer looking watch than both Apple and Samsung.
this product is totally useless when it comes to google maps, the map doesn't rotate as you follow the map, it stays fixed and its very hard to navigate that way
I hope that's a joke. 30FPS watch is good enough/will save battery a lot. We are not watching anything on the watch. And mostly to use it for 10-20 minutes max/day only, I dont want prices to rise for these useless features like 120Hz.

This broke my brain🤯 I never knew or would've believed it if I didn't experience it myself. Strangely enough, I however do have Mr Hey Google on my mobile.🤨 So yeah, I spent muchos money on my ~double ""upgrade"" and it didn't even give me a little tweeny bit of the absolute organic Bliss that I have expected. Big Bitter Pil to swallow😔 😪 🤧 😢 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 💥💥💥💥💥There's more than quite a few things that us as 💥💥💥💥💥💥Samsung users in this country 🧌《South-Africa🧌》 can not get access to. Galaxy shop, aswell as Playsore. Some applications are not lincenced here!!!!! It's extremely upsetting, and confusing because the personalisation choices of Samsung devices is why I've been ONLY USING SAMSUNG for almost 20years.
