You need to do an update to this video as the software "File Explorer FTP Server" is no longer available. Or if there is a new work around, please post it.
Just found a work around to get this app on watch by going to the play store on my pc. If youre logged in it should give you the option of what devices you want it downloaded to, and boom work perfect. Thanks for this vid bro, I just got a 6 and been wrestling with how to get my own notifications on here for a few days. 💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼
Ringtones seem to be hit and miss. I have some that are still available on my Watch 4 as leftover from the previous method pre-patch, using myWear File Explorer. They even show up on the Galaxy Wearables app on my phone, and they work fine when I select them (used to be the app would crash when selecting a non-stock file). I tried moving some new ringtones into the folder, and restarting the watch so they show up, just like how the previous method used to work. Some files show up, others don't. When selecting them, sometimes they work, and randomly stop working and the watch resets to a stock ringtone. Sometimes they disappear from the menu, but a restart of the watch brings them "back" and the cycle continues. The interesting thing is that my four custom ringtones pre-patch all work perfectly fine. The watch doesn't eventually switch to a default one like it does with any new file I place, but its just with those four... Maybe a bug in the software flagged those files as stock? Maybe the watch has a limit, whether it be file type, codec, length, bitrate.... whatever.
Thank you. Thank you. I was able to do all steps per your direction, But on the last step of pasting into the internal storage I am getting error: “transfer fail” (all premotions given) ?
What's the purpose of ringtone sync? (Under connections on phone) Ringtone sync Use your phone's ringtone when you get calls on connected Bluetooth devices.
As of today, October 23, the File Explorer FTP Server app is not available in the Play Store. And as such, unfortunately, your recomendation does not work yet. Hopefully, Samsung will make the Fire Explorer FTP Server app available again in the near future.
No, it's not. I just tried looking for it. I get the other 2 and then everything else, not even close to a File Explorer. It doesn't matter much enyway. I just keep it on vibrate so I don't disturb people at work. Thank you for the tip anyway, I did make sure automatically update was turned off.
App is gone from the store on the watch. But, if you go on from a pc/laptop you can go to the play store and download it to your watch from there. It didn't work the first time I tried, but turned on adb and usb debugging and plugged phone into my laptop and it worked!!! Just transfered a few as a test and set as my notifications. Hope this helps, if you haven't figured it out yet.
@@peaceofmind3132 Thanks for this tip. I tried but it said "This app isn't available for your device because it was made for an older version of Android" ☹
So, I just tried it with another file explorer and followed your steps and it works, but not for notifications but for ringtones 😅 restart your phone after you copy your music over.
You used to be able to add custom ringtones for the Galaxy Watch 4 and 5 but the Watch 6 does not allow permissions for the file managers for some reason.
