Interesting review, Stephen. Re the Field Notes book in the pen case, the solution is to slot it in and work through it writing on right-hand pages only. When you reach the end, remove it, turn it upside-down and slot in again. The blank pages will now be on the right-hand side for you to write comfortably on.

Also a passport fits perfectly even if there is a notebook inside the pouch. With the pens, notebook and the passport combination, it becomes very useful for travel.

Stephen great review and really appreciate it. Having dealt with Galen Leather when purchasing the 5 pen pouch, one of the things that I appreciated about them was that they kept me informed as to all the stages my order was in. That is super helpful and really great communication.

Good review. I have a couple of traveler's notebooks made by Galen leather and their quality is stellar.

I recently bought Galan’s 10 pen case from their Etsy site. Great quality, reasonable price, and I like that it’s a small, family business. I got their black leather case in a smooth finish, unlike the rustic leather Dr. Brown reviews here, and it’s quite dressy. I particularly like the elastic pen loops, they hold less girthy (think Visconti Van Gogh 2019 edition or Pelikan 600) pens quite well in addition to Dr. Brown’s monster size pens.

I really like Galen Leather products! I have a B5 portfolio that fits a Leuchtturm composition B5 perfectly, also in crazy horse leather. I have their 10-slot pen pouch, and that is fantastic - it's only a little bigger than the one you have since it has pens on both sides and adds felt flaps to each side. The 3rd thing is a wooden 3-slot pen rest that is a great size for smaller diameter lens like the Pilot C74 OR CH91. I think the wooden stuff may be made by someone else as it has a different stamp on it, but it's made in Istanbul also. Highly recommend their leather products!

I bought a writing box from Galen leather last year and had a terrible experience with them. The product was expensive, but the wood was badly warped leaving an opening when it was closed. The interior leather was also of poor quality with lots of scratches and damage, and was not well secured to the box. When I contacted them, they ignored me. I tried a number of other means of communication, all ignored. The reviews on their website (at least at the time, I haven't been back to check) would indicate that many people had similar problems with them. I will never buy from Galen leather again. As always though, I appreciate the videos, Stephen.

Hey, I know you mainly review fountain pens themselves (your Jinhao X750 review helped me a lot) but I have a slightly different request: I'd be interested in what you think about this fountain pen search: fpfinder.com I like the idea of having a search that isn't connected to specific shops because this might allow it to have a bigger selection.

Just write on the righthand pages and when all those pages are full then turn the notebook 180 degrees and put it back in the sleeve and write on the righthand pages again....

Does the opera master fit in it?

Will it comfortably fit a Pilot Custom 823?

I cannot see the utility of this wallet at all, the pen pouch is nice though.

Before purchasing any item from Galen Leather please make sure you are aware of the shipping costs. Despite my invoice including the cost of shipping, the delivery company UPS requested a further £30 English pounds before I was allowed my parcel. Make sure you make enquiries before purchasing! I was advised by Yusuf that this is mentioned on their website. Clearly I had missed that section. I advise you to be careful. The product I purchased is lovely. It is a shame that it has been ruined for me paying a lot more money than expected. I will make it my mission to ensure that everyone is aware on all social platforms. I know I can’t be the first to suffer from this!
