Een korte introductie op een verborgen juweel in Den Haag. Prins Willem V van Oranje-Nassau liet de zaal in 1774 bouwen om er zijn indrukwekkende schilderijenverzameling tentoon te stellen. De wanden hingen er bomvol, zodat de rijkdom van zijn verzameling goed te zien was.
De schilderijenverzameling van de Prins vormde de basis voor de collectie van het Mauritshuis. Ruim 150 oude meesters uit die collectie zijn te zien in de Galerij.
