The Galfond Challenge is in the home stretch as Phil Galfond is now down -$233k vs VeniVedi after being down -$900k. This is a 25,000 hand challenge of Pot Limit Omaha being played on Run It Once Poker. The player up the most amount of money at the end of the match will also win a sidebet. I talk Pot Limit Omaha aka The Great Game strategy in this video.

Joe, thanks for the great commentary with the best hype music of all time! I think Veni got a little married to his straight flush draw at 6:54, you didn't mention the straight flush draw it but I think it probably played into his decision. Of course he was drawing to only 2 outs (actually 1, unknown to him), especially if he acknowledges that Galfond virtually always has a full house on the turn. I'm sure many of us, even solid pros, have become strongly attached to a big draw at the worst possible time. Keep up the good work!

So Galfond takes some "time off" to "regroup" and after a couple weeks they return on his website and now all of a sudden the man can't lose. On the website he runs, where they play poker. Gotcha.

It's pretty easy to understand his comeback. When he took the break from the challenge, guess what he did??? He went through the hand history and analyzed how venivedi plays and ran with it. I saw this coming from a mile away.
