Two great singers,Galina Vishnevskaya and Sergei Lemeshev, duet from the last act of "Traviata",Boris Haikin cond. Studio recording in 1964. (They recorded the highlights of "Traviata" and "Werther".)
About Lemeshev: In his mature years, the voice and the singing are far better than many others in their "fresh" years. Galina is bright and expressive.
@@ViktorOstafeychuk indeed they are an uneven mix. But the whole role of Violeta pose that problem: an agile coloratura soprano for the first act and then... well, drama unleashed. I confess I've never heard the full role by Galina. As much as I like Lemeshev, YOU can imagine who I'd prefer here ;-)))
@ViktorOstafeychuk absolutely no. She has light voice that suites Traviata very well. Traviata is a role that almost every soprano with right technique should be able to sing; with different dramatic effect, but almost every soprano. Listen to Virginia Zeani singing Violetta - she is much darker and heavier, but still one of the best Traviata in the 20th century
