a huge thank you for this video which called me great memories. I can no longer ride a horse since an accident and thanks to you I can gallop again in nature thank you very much
Is galloping scary at all? I never learned to gallop a horse, I’ve only cantered. My Thoroughbred has a pretty fast canter and I’m a bit scared of how fast his gallop would be.
It can be pretty scary if your on a very open field, because sometimes they don’t stop, but just a tip if a horse ever bolts with you, think right I just started galloping on purpose, I’m going to stop now and slow down, hold their mane to try and keep you on, try to keep your stirips, but try not to tighten your reigns because the horse will automatically fight against them. Also if you have a leather round your horses neck that’s helpful. Also remember to lean back. So yes when you feel ready to gallop let your reins go a bit lean back, try not to be scared, be in a smaller field so you can stop! 😃
It depends on the horse and your riding experience, as well as the situation. It’s pretty exhilarating, especially when you first do it, but I wasn’t scared my first time because I was ready and had already ridden tons of forward horses at the canter. Thoroughbreds tend to be a bit scarier, since that’s what they’re bred for and they get overly excited about it, sometimes to the point of bucking, and it goes without saying that they’re very fast. My Thoroughbred mare is 24 and can still run like the wind. Ideally, you want to learn how to gallop in a lesson when the horse is intentionally being asked for it. Thoroughbreds have a habit of taking off galloping with little to no warning, so if you own one, it might be a good idea to ask your lesson instructor to teach you how to gallop in a lesson before it happens outside of one.
Truely the best feeling ever. My boy used to do this, he wasn't everly fast but it was always thrilling...right up until he'd shy at a branch and I'd hit the ground :)
1, the fact that jam went from a walk to a full on gallop in a matter of seconds, and 2, the fact Jam didn't buck u off there, cause if I were to do this on my pony, I would of been either on the ground and out of control!! Well done
You are such a good rider I am 13 and I am currently learning to ride but rn I am going through my nervous stage do you have any advice or tips to give to me but yeah you are so good at riding!!!!!!!!
