Hi Jason. I am an Indian gentleman and transport my wife in my trailer. I am planning on buying a trailer with a cage next time for her comfort.

Sounds like a good idea, you may need to consider a roof to ensure she is extra comfortable.

I bought a new Chinese tipper box trailer from a supplier. Overall besides the great price it had a crap galvanising job and crap wiring on it, The break-away switch was not the same ARK brand as the main battery controller, it was a chinese copy and did not work as the contacts did not touch. I seemed like good value even after I QA'd it and addressed the wiring issues, but it didn't end with that. The concerning issue I discovered with mine and on another mate's same trailer was the hitch bolts sheared off. I noticed mine after coming back from a job. The front two bolts had sheared and the back too had major play in them. The bolts were stamped "8.8" which is high tensile, but the nuts were cheap shit nylock style nuts, they were thin and definitely not high tensile. Obviously they do not cut the mustard and it's a MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE. My mate wrote off his car and trailer because of it, ironically 2 days after I found my issue and changed my bolts out. As an Engineer one of the issues other than a nut that will strip out could be the Galvanising Job. The Gal coating could compress and cause looseness in the bolts, in turn causing them to flog out, the other possibility is the hitch installer could have over tightened the nuts stripping the poor-quality Chinese threads. I am also sus on the bolts themselves shearing, are they really high tensile? even though marked 8:8, could they be Chinese High tensile? I have yet to go back to my old Uni to get them to test their shear strength. I urge people to check these bolts. Spend the coin and get someone competent to change those 4 bolts, nuts and washers out, it should cost under $15 for the bolts. It beggars belief that the Chinese merchants will go and save $5 and possibly kill a family. My mate wrote his trailer off and damaged his new ute canopy, If there was another car oncoming he would have been dead along with others. The other key thing on my list now is to check the wheel bearings. ****************************************************** DONT TRUST THE CHINESE WITH YOUR SAFETY *************************************************************

I am in NZ and got one a year back, I love mine its half the price of local made only difference I can see is lighter gauge steel. We live in the suburbs and I wondered if it would get enough use but it does most weeks someone in the family uses it for something. It tows well is light and easy to use. I used the front opening gate this week to pick up a flat pack small boat trailer for a sailing dinghy I just finished building I spent today assembling that, it also looks great. Don't buy one if you are a tradie but us suburban DIY guys its a good buy.

I bought one about 5 years ago , sold around a year later as I didn't need a 2 Tonne trailer anymore . Overall not a bad trailer but the 4 wheel hubs had just a smear of grease on the bearings , noticed the hubs getting hot within the first 50km ,( empty trailer ). Decided to get some grease and do a 4 hub repack before going on , wasn't too happy atvtge time... .also the hub seals are not all the same , the braked hub seals are a different size to the unbraked hubs.

Thanks for the review. The trailer looks pretty good. I'm just about to buy another galvanised trailer, but I will be paying the extra price for an Australian built trailer, as I'm in no mood to support Chinese manufacturing in this current climate concerning cold war type trade tactics from the Chinese Communist Government, over the outfall of the Chinese Covid19 virus. 😁👍🏼 (Still waiting for the QLD government to open the boarder, so I can purchase it. If they don't do it soon, I'll be buying it in NSW.)

I got an upright tyre holder for my chinese 8x5. My second job with the trailer I opened the front tailgate to cart 3m cement sheet and pasterboard. Hit the brakes they can only go as far as the trye hold the are butted up against.

Good review. For the price, there OK for light loads. Bolted are inferior to welded trailers and the 750 KG you mentioned isn't the load capacity. It would more likely to be around 400 KG maximum load capacity with the tare weight of the trailer around 350 KG. If you needed a trailer for work and heavy duty, you wouldn't want these. Cheers

Wonder what brand your’s is. Just recently got a 8x6 galvanized trailer from stonegate and well yes I think it is just Chinese crap to some degree. But I got a big tool box and spare wheel in the front so can’t even lower the front part of the trailer, might take it to a welder sometime and see if I can get the front tie down bar extended

Cheers for the review. I just purchased a similar chinese trailer my only complaint being the floor is warped. The salesman showed me all the trailers of varying different sizes he had (approx 20) and all had warped floors. I bought one and got $200 off. I think the 2.5mm floor is not thick enough and didn't like their welding system and possibly also the high heat from galvinizing.

Obviously in the galvanising process things get hot - think you will find most galvanised trailers will have floor buckling Au or Chinese built.

Just purchased a 7x5 trailer in Maryborough Queensland. Looked good but after carrying my ride on mower, approx 180 kg developed 'waves or ripples' on the floor. You can see the outline of the cross beams under the galvanised floor. The dealer said these 'ripples' were from the galvanising process? I took the trailer back to the dealer and he offered me my money back if I wanted. An inspection of all the hire trailers in his yard showed the same 'ripples or waves' on the floor,, all these hire trailers showed no sign of rust. Some of the welds on my trailer are 'only just' adequate in my opinion. The price was right, I rang a manufacturer in Brisbane and his quote for an Aussie made trailer was nearly $1000.00 more. I hate buying Chinese stuff, could not even buy a pack of Aussie undies at Big W!! Time will tell if this trailer is up to the job. Regards Peter

just buy a sheet of construction plywood 8x4 cheap and throw it on the trailer floor .rpples or not go and really put a 750 kg load on it for testing. if it shows signs of buckle ,returned as you won the case and the law is on your side ,if not then you got a bargain ,what do you think

A good quality fully hot dipped galv 7x4 trailer with a 100x50 hitch for around $2500 fitted with a 2.5mm checker floor will last 50 years. 50 years of tyres and rego would be my biggest concerns.
@yusufakbari6666
@yusufakbari6666 3 года назад
A thin metal sheet, secured at 40cm centres - or whatever the cross bar spacing is - will buckle due to the uneven contraction and expansion induced by the gal process (~450C). Would have to be uneconomically thick to avoid this and wouldn't improve at all, the load perfomance of your trailer. It is a problem though because water will pool at the low spots and rust eventually. Hard to avoid. Sheets of ply or any other water absorbing material may attract and hold water which won't help the corrosion issue. A UHMWPE or rubber liner may prolong the life, but the best is a hard wearing epoxy overcoat like CERAMALOY or something. Ripples are purely aesthetic.

Bought Nathan trailer 1997, transport my ride on, gravel, blue stone, garden waste etc....trailer rock solid, floor straight as. Every few yrs, spray paint whole trailer pressure pack paint from Bunnings, shed garaged when not in use. One time I carried a huge heavy metal press above specified weight on trailer data plate. I hit a bump, front of my car lifted off the ground. Slammed on the brakes, front end went back down again, scared the living crap out of me. Drove bloody slow after than. Unfortunately Nathan gone yrs ago.

Same thing when I bought mine. Got it home an noticed how warped it was in one area. Took it back and every trailer in the place was the same. All warped. He offered my money back but pursuaded him into $200 refund.

Did you mean at 5:45 the trailer's GVM is 750kg? This trailer is unbraked which means the total towing mass cannot exceed 750kg (legally). If the weight of the empty trailer is 250kg, for example, then the maximum weight of the payload should not exceed 500kg.

T.A.H. I"m sorry mate, but for you to say that the Quality is quite good while showing vision of extreme poor quality, appears a little confusing. If you check the hot gal on the cage closely you will notice that the have attempted to gal over the "blue" paint on the mild steel tubing, telling me that this "Hot Gal" process is of a VERY POOR QUALITY Also with only "slipper springs" and the axles mounted BELOW the springs, I would advise not loading your trailer anywhere close to its 750kg capacity. In closing I hope that you are happy with your Chinese purchase. But please support an Australian business next time, as then that might give you a job in the future.

I won't support Australian companies, that import these on mass and quadruple the price just for puting them together. Hard pressed to find quality reasonably priced Australian made these days. 80% are over priced imports, so if you can buy it yourself and cut out the importer middle man your on a winner. For eg I imported a toy hauler 6.1 offroad trailer, totalling $16k regoed in Australia. Where as patriot campers sell them for 100k plus claiming the build them, when in fact they pay the Chinese manufacturer for company logos to be stamped and import the same trailer on mass for cheaper then what I paid for 1

Hi Jason, Do you need a ramp to load your ride on mover?
@theaussiehomestead2210
@theaussiehomestead2210 2 года назад
Yes, I just purchased some from an auto store. You just need to make sure they aren't too short or you wont get the cutting deck over the edge of the trailer without catching.

@theaussiehomestead2210
@theaussiehomestead2210 2 года назад
Hi Luke, I just used a couple of steel loading ramps that you can pickup from an auto store. Wasn't that expensive, only downside is that you can't fold them and they're kind of heavy. If you do a lot of loading/unloading I'd consider a set of aluminum folding ramps

Why would you waste your money. Why don’t you buy an Australian made trailer. I bought an Aussie made one and I have had it for 25 years, it’s been up the beach to the tip multiple times. Loaded with logs, carried multiple dirt bikes, And is still the same as the day we got it. Can see that one lasting.

You lack imagination...🤣A tip trailer is easy to wash out and dries fast so will take longer to rust out, ,Leave tiped in yard so it dong collect rain... ..the front gate down makes it easier to get in and out when accessing via the frontanx does give more lenght remove tyre to give more length and put tyre on top on load so straps can be used to hold long low loads down .. .....you lack imagination...lol..
