Galveston would be considered our home cruise port as we live a few hours away in Texas. So we end up taking cruises out of Galveston pretty regularly. In this video we go over our favorite hotel that we stay at before our cruises out of Galveston and we go through some of the things that we like to do before and after our cruises.

My husband and I cruised out of Galveston on Allure last January 2023. We flew out four days early and stayed at a lovely Airbnb. It gave us time to tour around Galveston while spending less money on our accommodation plus cooking our own meals.

AirBNB is a good idea, especially if it was one of the cool houses on 25th street. What was your favorite thing to do on Galveston?

Thank goodness I live in Houston that I don’t have to worry about flying or hotel for a cruise out of Galveston

We stay in Seabrook, it's less expensive and is still close to Galveston.. NASA in also there if you have time to visit it. The parking situation at the port leaves a bit to be desired compared to other ports. Be aware that the shuttle people do not deal with getting your bags to a porter, they take them off the shuttle and leave them on the walkway for you to handle getting them the rest of the way to the port..

Some really good advice and feed back, thank you. We drive down from DFW so we like to stay on the island, makes it feel more like a vacation than more of the same by staying in Texas city or places around there. NASA is pretty awesome as well.

@@letsgetwanderlost We drive from OKC and like to get past the Houston traffic.. I have looked sat staying on the island, but it is usually more expensive and since we are only there to stay the night before the cruise. it doesn't really matter.. We also cruise from New Orleans quite a bit. Good times..
