I did a ton of fishing off of the ones on Bolivar, back in the 80s and 90s. We always called them jetties. I bet you've got a video about that cool old bunker out there on Bolivar too, huh. If not, you should.

Most, if not all barrier islands are younger than 8/10 thousand years old. They started forming after sea level stopped raising after the last glacial maximum
