I'd never heard of any of these guys before today. This is world class stuff, all the way around, in my opinion. I watch drumming videos nearly every day, and I've never run across this guy, before. I just love this guy!

Gálvez llegó a un nivel en que dejas de pensar que está tocando un bajo, el instrumento pasa a un segundo plano y lo único q importa es la música. Un clase mundial.
Por la misma regla de tres la misma regla se deberia aplicar a las guitarras baritonos, las de siete y ocho cuerdas, los pianos de 88 teclas, los saxos barítono, y un largo etc. Y ya ni te hablo del midi, los productores y un largo etc. Vamos que nos perderíamos un gran elenco de sonidos.
El bajo ha dejado de ser un instrumento de ritmo para convertirse en el protagonista de la armonía y la melodía . Felicitaciones al trío , muy buena propuesta .
This trio is wicked sick! I love the visual interactions between both players and drummer. Three-quarters of the way through the time signature changes and the escalation of the drummers soloing is astonishing.tight,tighter,tightest! Bravo!
Espectacular , soy nuevo en escuche jazz. Ayer tuve el privilegio de verlo tocar en el teatro de la universidad de Concepción en el 17 festival de jazz . Quedé maravillado

Im a bass player and thought this guy was a guitar player at first. But he is playing 6 string bass the likes of which Ive never seen before. This may piss off some guitarist. He is that good!

Hola, Bionini, el preparador físico del cuerpo técnico de Bielsa, cuando estuvieron dirigiendo en Chile acostumbraba a visitar club de jazz en Santiago y decía que acá escuchaba mejor y más variado jazz que en Buenos Aires. (El loco falleció de un cancer, se enamoró de una chilena y se quedó acá y era fanático del jazz) Acá hay también muy buenos bluseros
I get the sensation that many of the "critics" here didn't actually listen to the whole track; there's a whole section in the middle where Christian plays only in the bass register. Solos in the upper register of a bass are nothing new, guys! But not everyone has Christian's taste and melodic sense.
Saw Mr Galvez playing with Billy Cobham in Italy a couple of years ago, I was totally amazed by his playing! Bass guitar reinvented once again after Mr Pastorius! Keep up with this amazing stuff!

Inmenso !!! Musicalidad, sensibilidad, buen gusto, que maravilla, gracias por su musica maestro !!! Si no es molestia me gustaria saber como se saca ese sonido tan similar a la guitarra, aunque he visto que usa afinación B E A D G C, el sonido es bastante mas agudo, gracias.
Jesus Flores Zaya con gusto contestare tu pregunta ya que soy fan desde siempre de Galvez, primero el usa un bajo pasivo de caja con 30 frets, usa cuerdas flat, y en su pedalboard tiene un EQ que como el dice lo usa para des-equalizar el bajo, le quita graves y le sube mucho los medios, actualmente usa uñas acrilicas para tocar, El se caracteriza por la tecnica del Cordmelody que ha desarrollo con una maestria que nadie mas a hecho hasta el momento, tanto asi que el puede improvisar con esa tecnica del cordmelody, si te das cuenta en el video usa 2 amplificadores Roland Jazz chorus que son para guitarra.
OMG, such an instant subscribe!!! I've been a huge fan of Christian since I first saw/heard him on that "Masters of Bass" RU-vid video, like years ago. I'm old enough to remember the first time I heard a six-string bass; it was Pattitucci soloing on "Got a Match" on the first Chick Corea Electrik Band album. Like mid-1980s? I forget. But for me it was like pre-historical man seeing his first solar eclipse. Christian had absolutely the same effect on me! I was like, Oh, this guy is a jazz chord-melody genius, but on bass! What the hell is going on here??? And since then I've followed him and just love everything he does, especially the recent collaborations with the likes of said John Pattitucci (ripping over "Giant Steps," really? C'mon guys! Give we mere mortals a break! Just kidding! Keep at it! It's amazing!) Oh, and one last thing: I'm on a variety of internet "bass forums," with discussion of all things bass and what not. And I have posted multiple videos of Christian playing, all to "deaf ears," so to speak. I get the feeling that a lot of bass players hear him and say, "Oh, he's just a guitarist, but on bass."
Sorry, hit the wrong button. In any case, my response is always: Really? You don't get how cool it is that he's this complete musician? Harmony, melody, solo voice? And the thing I love about this video and this project is that it proves -- beyond a doubt -- that Christian can also function in a "traditional" bass role. His comping over the piano solo is killer! He would be a first-call bassist for that alone. And then you get Joe Pass on Bass in addition to that???
Uh, just forgot to mention how sick is Mr Shmitt’s playing.. crazy tight!!!! As a drummer myself I have to say that this is some of the sickest fusion stuff I have ever listened
