When Rogue first kissed Gambit, she drained him and put him in a coma. His powers didn't do anything. The Reason rogue can now touch Gambit, or anyone else she wants, is because her inability was psychological the entire time and she has been gaining control over it. Rogues ability is triggered by stress. It works in combat because combat is always stressful, but there is more to it than that. Cody was her first kiss. She was nervous and stressed about it, so her power first triggered. She associate the ability with touch, so touching people would cause her to stress, which would triggers her power, reaffirming that she couldn't touch people, in a self-perpetuating cycle. This is also why people would some times touch her, but the effect only kicked in after she realized they were doing it. 1- Tough Rogue. 2- Rouge screams something like "NOOOOO!" 3- Power triggers. 4- Person passes out. Xavier helped her with the mental issue and that is why she can now touch people, as long as she doesn't get stressed.

@@KaosKrusher There was a point where gambit eventually learned to chare the air around him lips to kiss her, but that was late on and short lived. For the most part, you are correct and he couldn't.

Hey there. Worlds biggest Gambit fan here. Great video but to finish it up, he and Rogue can now touch. Not from anything Gambit can do but because professor X finally discovered how Rogue can control her absorption powers. Rogue can actually touch several x men without injuring them and temporarily use them simultaneously.
That gambit short movie made by Nick Bateman was the shit! He had the look and swagger of gambit. Definitely wanted another short film or web series from him

Remy (Gambit) Lebeau has always been one of my favorite mutants but last time I checked Rogue couldn't touch anyone especially Gambit it's too bad we never got to see him in live action especially with Rogue. I'm aware of the "Wolverine" Gambit with Taylor Kitsch but he doesn't really count they didn't do much with him.
Fun facts- the armor is from Mojo world, the stipes on the legs indicate rank among thieves guild, alternate versions are capable of destroying Superman like characters at risk of own life, originally created to infiltrate the X-Men from within and take them out one by one, even spiderman once came to a draw in a quick tussle yet he left the Avengers on there butts when they tried to stop him from saving a friend, his power is strong enough to punch a hole in a Hulk, and to keep this short in space his power increases,....also he uses card not only for trademark purposes but charging metal is more lethal and he only kills if he has too

It's a real shame that Gambit has become such an afterthought over the years in the comics as well as media, prolly 2nd most popular mutant/X-Men behind Wolverine but gets thrown to the wayside by the writers unless Rogue is involved in his story. What has annoyed me about him n Rogue over the years is that the writers will put Rogue in other stories without Gambit and play a big role in said story but Gambit has to have Rogue in his stories in order for him to get any screen time, hopefully he plays a big role in the Fall of X storyline along with Apocalypse but not holding my breath, especially with the writers of today 🤦♂️
A couple of guesses why this is: 1) In a male dominated industry its the sexy ladies that will get the readers buying. Gals love Gambit (like me). Romantics love Rogue and Gambit together and guys who love Gambit may wish to be like him... and get the sexy lady! So Gambit solo only appeals to 1 out of the 3 groups. And 2) Cos there are a bunch of die hard romantics rooting for Gambit and Rogue they complain if Gambit charms other women. And solo Gambit loving gals, like me, wanna see Gambit doing his charming! Although personally I like it even better when he charms women who are not Rogue! But this is hard for Marvel to do without making Gambit a cheat or sleaze bag. So I'm happier when they are broken up! And that's not cos I don't like Rogue. Its just cos the chase is the best bit and that's been done to death!
@@Crimsonsdream 1000% agree that the Gambit n Rogue on again off again love story is beyond stale now, he can't even get any decent time to shine unless she's involved in the story somehow whereas she can be in other stories without him at all. It's like writers just see Gambit as Rogues husband n that's it when he was his own character way before that, i would've like to have seen Gambit n X-23 become a couple during that lil partnership, something different for once but nope the poor guy is forever tied to Rogue n it's cuz of the writers over the years who wrote them that way 🤦♂️
To be fair he did get a solo comic a year or two back, that's more than a lot of mutants can get. Not to mention he's been a mainstay in things like Excalibur and he might be one of the main guys in Dark X-Men right now.
I LOVED Rogue and Gambit as a duo until she did him dirty for Magneto in X-Men '97 and now I'm like F* her/that! Gambit deserves better. I'm a hardcore Romy fan and I just cannot understand why they had to do him/them like that.
Rogue is my favorite character in x-men tbh to the point that if she isn't in the story I don't enjoy it. Gambit is a great character too but he just adds to her story and character arcs.
Gambit did have his full powers restored when he fought against New Son, his alternate version. He didn't need to touch anything to convert a object's energy and want limited to inorganic objects. Theoretically, his powers are opposite to Bobby's. Bobby aka Iceman removes heat energy from particles down to subatomic, which is the real definition of freezing. At its peak, all motion stops or stopping time. Gambit causes particles to move possibly by adding energy, which changes the resting state aka potential energy to active - kinetic energy. At its max, explosion if the bonds break or keeping the atomic bonds together and accelerate through time. He is very much Omega Level.
The only team needed is Gambit Deadpool domino and rouge. Vs Superman? Deadpool and rogue with the distraction, Gambit and domino with perfectly placed explosive kryptonite.. vs batman? Same but with any explosive 🤷🏻♂️. No omega villain either, magneto? No chance, sinistro? Thanos? Wolverine? Deadpool Gambit domino rogue 😎
Also he has used his eyes to charge objects as well as hand in his 1st appearance with child storm.. and the energy signature was green.. Not sure how you missed this
I've noticed Gambit getting a lot of attention lately from younger fans. Makes a lot of sense when you think about the types of characters ppl are into now. Everything from the way he talk, his powers, his design. He's growing in popularity lately. I really hope they didn't kill him off permanently in 97.
People don't realize how powerful his full power form is. Is alternate universe Gambit beat the Phoenix then main Gambit who got his full powers back beat him. He has enhanced speed , strength and agility and because of his powers never gets tired. Essentially like Wonder man continuous kinetic and potential energy so he doesn't get old and can heal. Has concussive blasts. Can charge anything by just looking and how powerful the blast is also can stop and control people and things like a form of telekinesis also flying. His powers because of his constant energy makes him immune to touch based powers and telepathy even from those as powerful as jean, professor x or emma. They can't get into his head at all. Full powered Gambit is definitely omega level.
Rogue made peace with herself over what she did to Ms . marvel and learn3d that she can turn her powers on and off this took her 20 plus years as marvel taught us we are what we tell ourselves through rogue.....rhane Sinclair of the new mutants as well
His regular kinetic charge at full power is crazy because he could actually charge people and things without actually touching them he can do it from a distance.
Gambit is my #1 favorite hero. Of all time. Hes just so cool. And i really badly want a Gambit Movie. And i hope it doesnt wind up like Green Lantern (my #2 favorite hero)
50 in May here and going strong, Sir your advice is spot on... lower body strength and mobility along with grip strength is the most important things....our heart health and I know the hip joints and knees and feet have to remain strong and Mobil...like I tell the guys at work .a tree grows from the grown up and the roots of your power must not be ignored.
Excellent video! Gambit is my favorite superhero, i love the guy. One thing about him always bugged me though. His hypnotic charm ability is stupid. Gambit should be suave/persuasive because of his personality/ ilver tongue. Not because of some cheap trick.
Rogue can just use those power dampening collars they have to turn off her powers when she wants to get touchy feely with gambit or any manner of device that takes away powers, forge could easily create something

There was a comic where a Gambit from a universe where he DID reach Omega level broke into the main universe of that comic. I don't remember exactly, but that Gambit was nearly unstoppable. Glowing blue and naked like Mr. Manhattan.
He usually can't unless Roge is wearing a supresion collar. Roge also wears a lot of clothing to keep accidental contact from happening. Remmy is very careful not to make skin contact.
Since I'm a big fan of both of them, I've thought about this for a while. :D Rogue absorbs on the psionic level. Her powers would have to be controlled or lowered enough to touch him and not pull him in. Remember the 'Reunion' episode on the X-Men 90's cartoon? Sinister cut their powers off and Gambit was able to kiss Rogue? Ta Dah! Or... another way to do it, I remember reading in a comic a long time ago that Jean couldn't read Gambit. Now how could that be? She was the Phoenix after all. Gambit has a hidden power where he can mentally dampen like a telepath. Marvel never explored that. :o So therefore, if that power is brought out and trained, he could block Rogue. Which I think is far more interesting because I don't know how things are now because I haven't collected in quite a while; but back when I was collecting, only Women had telepathy. :o ;) :) PS: For CRYING OUT LOUD! CAN THEY NOT GET HIS EYES RIGHT?!

Rogue at different times in the comics could touch people in the first volume of Uncanny Avengers she could touch people tell she touches Wonder Man and her powers go out of whack . The whole Krakoa Era she can touch and she is or was a part of the 5 . Oops i read that wrong lol Gambit has Mr Sinister DNA i think that maybe why he was still alive in Bishop's time .

This video is waaaaay longer that he needs to be. I love Gambit but theres way too much fluff for every section. Some of it is fine because it gives context but 50% of its is video padding and comments that add nothing.
