I had this game as a kid and I was so excited to finally beat it. One thing I was always curious about was being able to stop Mr. Freeze from escaping at the end of the fight. I remember reading the manual and it teased being able to catch him. I remember trying everything I could to see if it was possible to stop him, but I guess he was always meant to escape.
Not sure why there is so much hate for this game in the comments. It was pretty good for what it was at the time I reckon, aside from the ridiculous Harley Quinn fight.
Boss List: Boss 1: Mr. Freeze 5:05 Boss 2: The Joker & Harley Quinn 13:14 Boss 3: Roxy Rocket 17:16 Boss 4: Poison Ivy 22:42 Boss 5: Bane 30:50 Boss 6: Dual-Beam Lazar Cannon 34:46 Final Boss: Two-Face 37:49
Good god.... the final boss is directly lifted from the Penguin boss fight in the SNES game. Exact same mechanics with Two Face swapped in for Penguin. Admittedly, it's cooler than the Two-Face fight by far.
Does anyone who played the game know if Joker does anything during the battle with him and Harley ? I just find it weird he's up there dancing and juggling but not doing much else.
The sound cuts out at 36:43 till the end of the video. Isn't the point of this video is that its supposed to capture the full gameplay experience? That's lazy and deceptive.
If you're talking about the cutscene and credits lacking any sort of music, that's because they do. Noone has cut out sound - there just wasn't any sound to begin with.
Agreeing with the comments. Not a very good game, but I've seen worse. The music is something horrid (and so repetitious), it's hard to tell if your punches are even connecting, and at the end of the stage it seems like it takes a few seconds before it closes out and moves you to the next.
Didn't even know of the existence of this game based on Batman TAS and it'd have been better if I remained ignorant. It looks like they had really good artists at hand (some animations are really great, but on the other hand some cutscenes look semi-amateurish), but other than that, it's clearly a cheaply produced licensed game, evident especially in the sparse and terrible sound. At least Roxy Rocket and Bane make appearances.
Well, the part about the good artists involved is true... if we're talking about the ones at Konami who did the graphics for the SNES version of The Adventures of Batman and Robin, because most assets, sprites and animations displayed on Chaos in Gotham are directly stolen from that one. They even repurposed Catwoman's running and jumping animations and used it for Batgirl.
Looks like they were gonna put the animated series theme over that intro and probably the publisher didn't want to pay for it so they left it silent... shame because the pixel art is good!
