I wish that I knew what it was like to have a gameboy as a kid. I only have 2 memories of ever playing a gameboy. The first was at my cousins house. One of my cousins just had an original gameboy. I dont even remember what games were on it. The other memory was also at my cousins house. It was my cousins birthday and he had gotten a Gameboy Advance SP. We played mario on it. I dont know what mario game it was though. But I remember that we were so bad at games that we couldn't even get through the first level 😂

I really wanted this to come to North America. I am usually a late purchaser for new systems, but had a good collection of original GameBoy games at the time. I would have gladly bought this and waited until later for the Color.

it took nintendo 7 years to put 2 and 2 together and put a front light in their mainstream video game console (the gba sp ags 001) in 2003. imagine how cool it would have been to have the front light come on the original GBA. or the GBC. smh nintendo was slacking lol

It's still such a let down that the Game Boy Light can't play Game Boy Colour games, although I know it released before the GBC. I feel that they should've taken the backlight & reused it in Game Boy Colour models, but clearly Nintendo didn't see the point. Also, I believe the reason Nintendo didn't release the Light outside of Japan is because by the time it hit shelves in Japan, it was very close to the GBC's release, therefore they figured there was no point bringing it to the west because it would be overshadowed by the new system with colours. I can't guarantee that's what happened, but I have a feeling that they were making the Light, then started making the Colour & both ended up having release dates too close to each other, but since they had already finished the Light they decided to release it strictly in Japan so they wouldn't have to change information & ship consoles to other countries, & so that they could still make a somewhat profit off of this otherwise 'useless' system in Nintendo's eyes.

I had Game Boy - original one - when I was young at 90s . And Yes I remember the light was a problem and Also I got the external third party lens with light . The game boy light is great improvement but we never know about it at that time !

Love your contents, the effort in the angles, camera works and editing are really appreciable but your voice in your videos are very low and the background music is while you are speaking is also a bit louder. I was gonna pick one up but modern tech blows this out of the water. Thinking back to those dark times and the worm lights or my game gear which at night caused eye strain sonic 2 damn those where horrid times it's funny as a kid I said I bet one day we will have powerful handhelds almost or even as good as home machines like the 3ds I was taken back by the gba and pap when they came out even the ds. This light I can tell even by the video it's not a very good backlight looks like it barley lights up the screen still.
