ah contra, how i loved you on the GB. The highlight of the game was when you do a back flip when you die. Most memorable was when your hero would fall down a hole and die, but when he dies, he backflips back out of the hole.
This is my favorite of all the contra games. I could easily beat this every night before bed and listen to the end credits. lol. to be 12yrs old again.....
Very good combination of the first and second titles of Contra, I also liked the adaptation of the Soundtrack, very faithful to the original and with its own touch.
9/10. A solid addition to its 2 classic predecessors. It's true to form with cool and creepy surprises, while living up to the hype of its cutting-edge commercial. Another level and a 2-player adapter would have been nice, though. 👍
I used to play this SO MUCH on my original GB. I got it in one of those illegal 10-in-1 type cartridges, however it was a 5-in-1 which came with: Robocop, Castlevania 2: Belmont's Revenge, Batman and Double Dragon!!! :)
This made me remember something completely dorky, but I don't care; my brother and I discovered that Megadeth's "Rust in Peace" is the perfect soundtrack to Super C. Start the game up, mute it, one play one track per stage, fits perfectly. As long as you skip Dawn Patrol...
I think the Homing broke the difficulty completely. Like it wasn't enough the game had small Game Boy resolution, but also it was firing the bullets like the Spread Gun. Good thing this weapon got nerfed in Contra III.
I use to own both operation c and Contra alien wars on game boy. this game is exactly the same as Super C but slightly different levels and has same 10 live code like Super C. The Ha released Super Contra has 30 lives code instead of 10. I even played game boy advance Contra Advance alien wars minus the bomb, 2 weapons, and motorcycle mode with helicopter shooting it's missle. I think it has 2 player mode too but not sure. Contra 3 Japanese version has 30 lives code but not for USA and pal release. I haven't played Contra 4 for DS. Castlevania 1, 2, 3 and 4 are my favorites. there's even a game boy version to Castlevania 1 &2 for nes. Castlevania Symphony of the night for ps1 is everyone's favorite. There's even a Sega Saturn port titled Dracula X in Japan. the English version came to USA for PSP and PlayStation Network for PS3 and PS Vita. Dracula X is exactly the Same as Ps1 version with 2 extra characters. ps1 you had to beat the game to play the other character. for Sega Saturn version there's a female character included not found on ps1 version.
I only have 6 minutes of gameplay left for operation C on Gameboy from Contra anniversary it feels way easier than the tough as nails 1987 arcade feature 😂🤣😁
I just beat this game for the first time ever!! 2014!! yay! back in 1991 i only heard of this game then when i was a kid. Now i have beat all the old-school Contrra games. i don't care what anyone says this game is frustrating but fun! :-P look out shattered soldiers and Hard Corps in coming for you next!!
I love: 1st stage 1st boss 2nd boss What is it about the design of the 1st stage, 1st stage boss, & 2nd stage boss in: This game and Super C for NES?? They're just...
This was one of those games that MADE the GameBoy for me... Castlevania never quite had a good GB game, same with Gradius, but Konami managed to put out a couple great Contra games on it!
From the past Gb has Made And A lot of games are good like Pokémon emerald or else and now this 2020 future has come and phone has made so no one use gb anymore but me I’m still have my 2009 gb and it’s still alive hehe, thanks for the game Gb your the best
Boy, the final boss was really, really, really HARD, right? In theory, you could still jump in the hole b4 you, and some people prolly did so, expecting to find a secret area or something. 🤣 I loved Contra for the obvious "Aliens" references. The Alien inspired levels were the best.
