Less than 500subs? That's a shame. Well constructed video, well presented information. Opposing Metroid 2 to Sonic 1 is a bit far fetched... BUT, keep at it man! I hope your channel picks up! All the while, i'll check your other videos!!!
Yeah, the whole gimmick of this series is that I talk about each game in release order. Metroid II and Sonic 1 don't actually have a lot in common, but they happened to be the first portable games on my list and were in sequence, so that made for nice theming for the video. The title and thumbnail is just a bit of showboating for the sake of the algorithm, lol. I appreciate the sub, and thanks for checking out my other videos!
2nd comment: Yeah, Metroid tile set makes it easy to get lost, but also the fact that they reused layout at several place, making several room the exact same is also aggravating. AND, Sonic 1 GG is on Sonic Origins Plus...
Interesting perspectives. I'd agree the game gear doesn't have any "Important" games. However thats not to say it didn't have some great games. Ports like Jurassic park, and Mortal Kombat 2 were Solid as well as some great originals like Super Columns and sports games. Sadly ports, 2nd place puzzlers and sports games rarely recieve the recognition they deserve.
Yeah, it's unfortunate. A few friends and I really racked our brains trying to think of any Game Gear games we'd consider significant, and we just couldn't come up with any that were truly noteworthy, at least not any that were exclusive to the console. I'm not into puzzle or sports games, and I generally try to avoid licensed games unless they're absolutely exceptional. I like fighting games, but I'm not actually very good at them and so I own very few (and Mortal Kombat's just never been my cup of tea anyway). It's nothing against those games, of course; this series is just very catered around my specific tastes (and occasionally my co-writer's, as was the case with F-Zero).
