Oh, this shit will keep you busy for awhile. I'm itching for the Jaguar CD support. Really wanna' try Battlemorph, Primal Rage and - yes - even Highlander.
Was temporarily turned off by the price but then I considered how much the best games like raiden and zool 2 and realized that what an amazing deal it is. I'm totally going to buy one when it comes out
Everdrive's tend to be pricey, yes, but it *does* save consumers a fair amount. Games like Rayman, Atari Karts, Defender 2000, even some of the more common titles like Alien vs. Predator and Tempest 2000, are all climbing in price. It's nuts! As it is now, this can save players an easy grand. Once the Jaguar CD functionality is perfected, you double the savings. Imagine being able to play the CD titles *without* the add-on? It's gonna' be killer!
Been loving the Jag reviews this month. Thanks for the entertaining content Andy, videogame talk makes the dark times more tolerable. Btw, what's the name of that groovy song at the end of the review?
DUDE! Always good to see a comment from you. How have you been? Good, I hope. I know these days are a bit rough. The song's a copyright free track provided by RU-vid. I'll look up the name in a bit. Hang tight.
@@MasterCastTV cool, thanks for looking it up. Looking forward to more ..plus I have a few reviews to catch up on. Being a felllow Sega fanboy, did you check out Street of Rage 4? I haven't yet, but it looks awesome.
I haven't gotten 'round to Streets of Rage 4 yet. I've taken on so many projects that I've kind of sworn off new games until I get some shit accomplished. It looks promising, but I need get back into fighting form with the channel.
@@MasterCastTV The Jaguar coverage is great though. I am a sucker for good old fashioned cartridge based consoles. Much like the 32x it's a maligned system with awesome showcase gems and amazing untapped potential (which your reviews clearly sing). On a side tangent... T-mek would've been a cool Jag port, being released at that time. Oh and an Atari developed game and all (arcade division was a separate Atari, but hell...it should've happened).
Yeah, aside from the "wet" comment. Hahaha! It *is* a sweet device though. Not having to flash a ROM constantly is a time saver. Especially when you have someone sending you "homework" in need of testing. That, and I'm a sucker for the menu/marquee setup. Makes it feel legit as fuck.
Great to see this flash cart has come to fruition. Now fans of the jaguar have a alternative for playing games on it,without having to spend a fortune on games.Speaking of price it reminds of the SD2SNES for snes/sfc in that regards.Funny you should mention krikzz, everdrive line of flash carts. Now he's coming out with the mega everdrive pro which can play genesis,32x and sega-cd etc.Sure there's all ready the megasd by terraonion but krikzz flash cart will be cheaper in price.
@@MasterCastTV but its a master piece and showcasr for the jaguar, i was so close to buying the console just for it. You said so yourself!.... Or i could of had to much loopy juice and now cant tell my arsehole from my elbow now 😂
Just wanted to let you know bro that this channel is one of my favorite game review channels. I really hope you decide to do more of them. Thanks for your work MCTV 👍 👍
your pre-order has probably been canceled. I would E-mail the sales team. I was pretty much told it was canceled and to order it from atari age, which is also not available and more expensive than the pre-order. Not sure if this is all due to Covid or poor management but it's a few weeks from being a year and pretty sure we were lied to. Glad some people got it but ya I think they made a hundred or so and called it quits.
This is *not* a scam. In the beginning this was a one man operation. One man making 'em, one man selling 'em, and one man marketing them. That was it. There's no "sales team". What he didn't anticipate was the demand. Jaguar's a niche group. In addition to developing this cart, he's also producing a GD cart for the Lynx and one other product I'm unfamiliar with. So he was overwhelmed with orders, workload became too great, so something had to give. Rather than do *everything* himself he's working with AtariAge to sell the GD here in the US, and one other distributor for the EU. He'll handle UK orders himself. As for the delay in receiving, that's the post office. The pandemic is wrecking havoc on overseas shipping. Hardly his fault. If you wanna' stay up to date, follow the link below.... atariage.com/forums/topic/254003-upcoming-jaguar-game-drive-cartridge/page/143/#comments
@@MasterCastTV Never said it was a scam nor did I imply it. All I clearly stated was "Not sure if this is all due to Covid or poor management" Based on the information you provided it sounds like both. I totally understand how hard it is to be a one-man operation, however, updating your user base should be priority one. Either update people or throw in the towel and update people. The problem I have with the situation is 9 months without a word. I Email RetroHQ & was told that my pre-order was canceled and to go somewhere else but that an update would be sent via Email to me in a couple of weeks. 2 months after my initial E-mail still have heard nothing. At any rate i appreciate the forum link.
How the hell were you shooting like that on raidon?is there a auto fire option on that game I don’t know about? It’s a awesome version of that game!! This cart is a must have... does it come with games on it?
I'm just that fast. Had to make do for many years without 'auto-fire'. It's that reason I was able to save Meryl from Shadow Moses. LOL! The Game Drive does *not* come with games on it. If I remember correctly, you'll have to supply your own Micro SD card and load your own ROM images. However, there's links for freebie Reboot titles on the Retro HQ product page for the cart, and there's TONS of AtariST conversions available for absolutely nothing.
Thank you! I appreciate it. I've been focusing on moviemaking as of late, though I will be making more gaming videos very soon. Got my hands on a NUON - of all things - and I gotta' talk about it. It's kind of interesting.
I love that homebrew creators are selling a "just the ROM" option now. On that note, you should give Organism for the C64 a go. It's essentially an "Alien" survival horror game without the branding.
@@MasterCastTV I wanted a Lynx so hard back then, but in Germany they were not easy to find... so I got a Game Gear and have it still today. Lynx (II) came about 10 years ago. Still want the first one. Maybe I put wheels on it and make it a Skateboard ;)
Oh, it's so fuckin' sweet. It's great being able to invest time into Rayman without worrying about bank switching with the Skunk. Once the Jaguar CD functionality is in place, this thing's gonna' be essential. Seriously, who wants to spend $800+ on an add-on that only works when it feels like it?
I pre-ordered one of these almost a year ago but I have all the games which really interested me. That meant I cancelled my pre-order, an idiotic decision which I now regret!
I feel ya'. I was going to wait for the initial rush of orders to subside and I'd pick one up then, but Retro HQ had to put things on hold. Then, outta' nowhere, Lawrence was like, "Congratulations!" Fast forward six months later and here we are. Really wouldn't regret too much. Prices on these games are only going up. Even if you were to under-sell them by $20-$30, you slap it toward a Game Drive.
I have a question, does the flash cart contain the ability to cheat? I would love to have some cheats for these games as we never really had them before.
@@MasterCastTV Well, I'll always appreciate your kindness and thoughtfulness and your great autograph but I gotta repair my Jag before I can suffer through the same shit gameplay that you did lol!
@@MasterCastTV It's a power issue, plug it in and it stays on. Think a shitty 3rd party power supply messed with it. Had these 2 things bookmarked for a while but fixing it has been on the backburner of things: scpcd.free.fr/jag/jag.htm#Repair atariage.com/forums/topic/204629-jaguar-won%C2%B4t-power-off/
Yeah, I was lucky. Lawrence ordered me a copy as a wedding gift with the intention of it showing up BEFORE I got hitched. It didn't work out that way. Hahaha! However, it's here now, and it's fucking awesome.
@@MasterCastTV wow that was very nice of him. I wish I had access to get this instead of waiting for the name to come up. It's rough not knowing the # on the list I even am
Also when you showed the update then you had ROMs and marquees. Did you hear to ad all those yourself or did it come with a memory card that hard them on it?
Your pre-order has probably been canceled. I would E-mail the sales team. I was pretty much told it was canceled and to order it from atari age, which is also not available and more expensive than the pre-order.
I hear ya', man. I wanna' hold onto my favorites like Alien vs. Predator, Tempest 2000, Rebooteroids, Doom, Iron Soldier, Zero 5, etc. However, don't think I'll be clinging to Club Drive, or both copies of Theme Park. LOL!
@@derekdash2179 That I do. However, since I've collected my footage, I'm inclined to sell it. It's a good game and all, but - fuck! It's hard as shit, and I really don't see myself playing it a lot.
Thank you! I appreciate it. I'd say it's definitely worth it. Being able to move from game to game without losing score and/or progress is a tremendous benefit to me. That, and just how fast it loads. Shit's crazy! Admittedly, I'll miss the light show whenever I'd flash my Skunk. Still, fair trade.
All good things, bro. It will take time, yes, but it *will* be worth it. I mean, damn! As much as I'd like a righteous copy of Atari Karts, I find it hard to justify spending that much for one game.
your pre-order has probably been canceled. I would E-mail the sales team. I was pretty much told it was canceled and to order it from atari age, which is also not available and more expensive than the pre-order.
My coworkers still tease me for that shit. Here my manager's in her 50's, yet she's got this fancy ass smart phone and see's my "archaic" piece of tech, "Well, beam me up, Scotty!" LOL!
Thank you for the kind words. However, in the Jaguar community, many will pay for homebrew ROM images. Retail releases like Alien vs. Predator, Doom, Raiden? No. Homebrew? Yes. The community's getting some solid content, and they want it to keep coming. There *are* some good folks that want to support good work. Besides, if the developers incorporate the copy protection available from Retro HQ, consumers may not have much of choice.
@@MasterCastTV For me, Emulation is less about "Oh boy! free games!" and more about having the games available on a device I actually own. Its why I'm cash in hand every time Konami releases one of those excellent anniversary collections. If the games are made available to me at a reasonable price, I'm on it like a shot! Even though I own the unofficial Doom source port on mobile, I gladly ponied up the money for the official port, because I want Bethesda to release more old games on mobile.
Oh, I'm sure if Rebellion released a "special edition" of Alien vs. Predator for Jag, or if even Bethesda did an expanded 6MB ROM of Wolfenstein 3D, folks would pay. I simply included the retail releases here because none of those titles are bringing revenue for their respective developers/publishers right now.
