WILL THE WHOLE WORLD KNOW YOUR NAME WHEN WE DANCE WITH DESTINY I'VE BEEN THERE AND I'VE SEEN IT I'M NEVER GONNA STOP BELIEVIN' YOU'LL FIND YOUR FLAME #gamegrumps #gamegrumpscompilation
12:09 Arin: "See, this is the thing...about Sonic games that really bother me-" Dan: "You're not good at them?" This has brought me an insane amount of unbridled joy. Get his ass, Dan.
I love the fact you can see dan just slowly fall in love with the game. To the point he even kinda tells arin to ease up on the jokes by the end cuz he's just genuinely invested in the story.
They thought the game was decent, not great, but the Internet has real problems with opinions between total hate and total love. Dan was very generous to this game to try to calm people down.
@@MegaZeta”Dan was very generous to this game to try and calm people down” wow, I sure am glad that you specifically know why he was being nice about the game, despite him never saying that’s why he was doing it. Definitely couldn’t just be because he started to feel invested, impossible.
This playthrough genuinely made me realize that i love sonic games. Especially with Dan talking about being hyped at the boss fights. Like, it crossed over from ironic to real somewhere in these 20 episodes
The only sonic game I've ever played was the first Sonic, but on that gamecube Sonic mega collection version. And I've just never been interested in the games after that.Their playthrough brought up some clips of Giganto from other people and God damn, I instantly fell in love. I think Frontiers has started my descent into the Sonic rabbit hole 😂😂
Well this was the best original Sonic game in a LONG time. Like not a remake or 2D game. Just a good modern Sonic game in a lot of ways. It had some flaws of course, but was a big step forward after several steps back every 3D game
I mean for one thing, this is by FAR the best original 3D Sonic game in A WHILE. Maybe the best one period. Like the team who made the game actually put in work and tried to take it seriously as they could with Sonic. While it's no where near perfect or the best Sonic game out there, it's one of the best ones in awhile
Best part about this is probably Arin realizing the song at the end is Sage talking to her dad and laughing like a madman while Dan just sounds crestfallen and feels the loss.
You can almost hear in every emotional or heavy story section that Danny is intently listening and keeping quips to a minimum to understand what's going on while Arin is listening for the next piece of dialogue he can twist into a joke while throwing everything else aside. Arin trying to force a joke through after sage died only for Danny to disappointingly go "arin..." was a bit cathartic.
@@David-sj4fkyeah, but it gets a little tiring over time watching arin deliberately ignore major game mechanics and story points bc he’d rather make a joke and not take it even remotely seriously. he can be funny without being… kind of an ass about it.
@@orlandogarcia7084 i didn’t say it was serious. i said it was tiring watching something you enjoy get shit on over and over again. use your reading comprehension skills next time, pls n thx.
Honestly, I was disappointed they never mentioned or commented on the fact Nathan Sharp did the Hard mode end credits (the one that replaces Vandalize; "One Way Dream" which by the by is my absolute new favorite Sonic AND Nathan Sharp song), considering I recall him being mentioned before during Sonic Forces since Arin did the rap lyrics of Infinite's theme for the cover. My man Nate has grown HUGE in the past decade and I've been hyped up seeing him go so far.
01:08:17 "I keep messing it up, *I'm so bad at this!"* Not seeing enough comments giving Arin credit for this, haha. One of the few times in a game, much less a Sonic game, where he's admitted he's just not good at it instead of blaming it on the mechanics 😅 The first step is admitting you have a problem.
@@jackdiddles4304 Haha you're barking up the wrong tree man. I'm not a Arin hater personally, hence why I tried to make that comment to give him credit without also getting hate myself. 👍
I think what I like about Game Grumps in particular is there will be a joke that is funny but I don’t laugh at, but then Arin will laugh at it and the two elements combine to make me laugh anyway. I think this is a great way to describe a lot of GG humor imo
It was great to consume this game thru game grumps to appreciate just how truly insane a plot point it is to make Eggman of all people the center point of the “experience the joy and pains of parenting and losing a child”
I'm not going to lie, them. Enjoying this game for the music made me get it and now I have the boss music songs on my gym workout playlist. So by proxy this is music to gain to
I’m so sad they didn’t buy any egg memo’s when fishing but that’s alright. Such a perfect compilation. I had completely forgotten about the plane/ borialis joke XD.
They did, once, the game just does literally nothing to tell you "Read them in the fish-o-pedia". So unless you REALLY wanna know more about FISH, you'll never know where to actually read them.
You really expected them to dive into ANY lore when it came to a Sonic game? A game with "butt rock" music, disgusting fanfiction that gives the rest of the fan base a bad rep, and isn't Nintendo? I wasn't shocked in the slightest.
Man, I’d love for Dan to go through MGR Revengeance so he can experience the raw, unparalleled KING of boss fight buttrock and all the dumb bullshit that happens in that masterpiece.
@@willdean2573 this is an oxymoron, if “no one” realises it’s insulting, then what makes you think they are using the term appropriately. I see the point you’re trying to make but you kinda answered your own question there.
@@Stachebro12 alright smart-ass. "Butt rock" is a term that people who lie about being Sonic fans have no idea is insulting. There, does that make more sense? Undefeatable is metal or metal core, not rock that sounds like ass.
They change all the voices, so Sonic has a deeper tone, Amy is more grown up, Knuckles is just Samuel Jackson... :P Tails is the only non-changed voice and is just like "WHAT IS HAPPENING TO EVERYONE!?" Also, fun fact, when Tails says "I think I need to go my own way", he did actually have a small spin-off game on the PC called "Tails Adventures".
Gosh, just cannot get enough of Arin calling amazing music "butt rock." And it carries so much weight too, coming from somebody who enjoys such "quality" musicians as Ke$ha and Jamiroquai.
34:13 It's moments like these that remind me that Dan is in his freaking 40's Edit: For context, my mom is in her 50's and she used to sing that a lot when I was a kid
Seeing them enjoy the titan fights this much, you'd think they'd have played a bunch of Platinum games at some point. But I can't remember if they have. Then again, a bunch of those depend on you knowing what you're doing and that might be a dealbreaker.
