I've never felt another series of let's plays so dense with gold. This dynamic was the best at the time, and everything that came after still doesn't reach the constant highs.
It’s moments like this one that makes me legitimately miss Jon being on GameGrumps. Nobody had a personality quite like his, and GameGrumps brought out the absolute best of his humor.
Oh my god, watch 21:13 at .5 speed, it sounds like they're high af and it's hilarious In fact watch the whole god damn video at half speed it's amazing
he didn't bash anyone, he just stated a fact. you can make racist jokes without being racist yaknow? also did you call game grumps a serious video? lol
Holy shit you guys are the most amazing 3 AM assholes I've ever listened to XD (meaning you're being that special kind of funny where you've been up all night and just fucking EVERYTHING is funny)
Every time I watch it, I'm convinced that I'll just get desensitized to how funny it is, but no. I always, without fail, laugh until my abs hurt. Gotta love those two.
Johnathon Shakovits It's just how hilariously horrible the game's physics are, and how Sonic just looks like a complete clown going up the hill like that
The snowboard doesn't control like a snowboard. It controls like regular Sonic, which is to say, you press a direction, he instantly moves in that direction at top speed without any build-up. Because the game never left the Alpha stage, so they never actually got around to programming proper controls. Yet they still released it on time because anniversary.
The joke at 9:41 really made me think about how Jon´s humour has changed, not in a bad way more just he used to make fun of things that were within a smaller niche community whereas his audience is much bigger now making that kind of joke not hit with most people
It went from just two guys hanging out to a show, and even though I still love a lot of what Arin and Dan do, there was a magic for the first couple years, even the first year with Dan, that was just lost after they got popular.
@@xenos_n. Dan was at his best when he had ross to bounce off of,same with Jon and arin. Now it feels less genuine and more "manufactured" if that makes any sense.
@@bearandthebull2372 doesn’t help that they have a whole office and staff to produce the videos that used to be made by just Arin, Jon and Barry. Are there more videos than before? Not really. Are they funnier? No. So why hire a whole team of editors when none of them add anything? I believe it all has a lot to do with Arins huge ego and Jon was never included in his plans IMO. Arin wants to build a brand and till this day Jon is still just making content that is for the fans.
Dan is just a yes man who is only there to make money. He couldn't care less if the company he works for abuses employees (cough Ding Dong and Julian cough) as long as he gets that lazy, easy paycheck. He has no morals.
Chris Noble I don't laugh as much when I see it since I've seen it so much, but when I first saw it I swear to god I couldn't see for five straight minutes because I was hysterics laughing my ass off.
I would describe this era of Grumps as "unsupervised". Lord it was fun. Arin was the mature one between him and Jon. Compare to the dynamic between him and Danny. Fun, but in a different way.
10:50 omg is literally how the mickey mouscapade voice came about. I'm not joking the type of guy they are talking about is fuckin real. And then with Mickey mouscapade. It just makes sense
oh my god....all these years and I've never been able to make sense of what they were saying there. I always just assumed he trailed off into some kind of gibberish. Thanks for clearing that up for me.
@@Insomnolant1335 guarantee you they like arin more than his co-hosts. And they watch jellopocalypse. Probably. I'm trying to insult them. I think. Idk
Not to ruin anyone's good mood, but its sad to listen to this and then think they aren't even friends anymore. I can't imagine sharing so many amazing laughs with someone and getting to a point later on where I would literally say "we're not really friends anymore" (barring actual romantic relationships that fall apart).

I come back to these Jon compilations of Game Grumps every now and then. I don’t even think about what I’m doing; I’m browsing RU-vid and the next thing I know, I’m watching this. I don’t think I’ll ever not miss Jon on the show. Admittedly, I stopped watching shortly after Jon left. I watched it with Danny and Arin for some time and don’t get me wrong, I liked them(Danny is a hoot), but I just preferred the dynamic between Jon and Arin more.
Arin and Dan were asked about that at a panel a few years ago. They reiterated that there's no bad blood between them and Jon, but given his then-recent controversial remarks about immigration, they didn't feel comfortable inviting him on as a guest star anytime soon. (Given that Dan's dad is an Israeli immigrant, you can imagine how a remark like that would hit.)
@@jbwarner8626 which we know is an excuse, as anyone who has watched Arin for a long time knows that he also has a history of being racist and isn't offended by such things. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-OyaFLqob9Vc.html
@@Mechagodzilla128 Arin's publicly apologized for the racist jokes he used in the early years of Game Grumps. He was no different than any other loud obnoxious 20-something on RU-vid back then, saying outrageous things just for shock value, but people grow up. Arin and Dan have vowed not to do those kinds of jokes anymore, and they've kept their word, so I say good for them.
Luke Faber it was a very particular joke in that series. They were looking at a list of something that they didn't want to be known so as he counted he just said asses off the top of his head.
Jon is one of my favorite RU-vidrs. He's hilarious and his editing is top-notch. That being said, I still prefer the chill energy that Dan brings to the show.
