I was able to see the first half love it. The Runners are making a name for themselves being the newcomers in the AAC. 5-0 keep up the great work.

Beating the losers at the bottom of the barrel is not being a winner. nUTSAck only has 1 win vs a team with a winning record this year. And zero top 25 or bowl wins in program history.

Well this week I was somewhat disappointed in Eric's press conference. As you noted he did mention taking a deep dive into defense...and his finding was 'aggression'.(?). That's it?? Somewhat general my sense. Appears he's protecting his staff frankly. That's fine. It's his world and staff choice. I don't mind consistency with explosive run busts.. frankly it's a consistent given we have a talent gap in lineman and linebackers. However I do believe we're pressing when we should be zoning...and zoning when we should be blitzing at key moments after turnovers, or near red zone situations. DC should be on the hotseat next year. We'll see if that exposes itself today. Other than that I like everything else Eric states in his news conference and post game. One point y'all (media) forgot to stress...he did make a comment about "fast scoring" etc.. and the fact he needs to rethink that. Sooo..... I'm hoping his clock management mantra substantially improves. There are several moments in games when it's dumb to fast score, but work the clock then score . We need to better manage clock at end of quarters, halftime, and after turnovers. Regarding SMU today.... I'm not that impressed as I was with them last year. Preston's not as good as Mordecai, the receivers aren't as good, but they have a better running game. Thier D has definitely improved. And the normal Veto annual mantra..."whoa is me it's SMU God selected this talent and size and speed across the board we're 1-400 in series we are not worthy"...not buying THAT as usual... Our Interest in series records should only be relevant within 21st century , since return to FBS and SMU wanted to play. I think our series average win rate is around 20%>> Obviously that needs to go up Charlotte, ECU, and Rice all had their chances to win against SMU..., but turnovers killed a few...and Rice flat out made some decisions that cost them the game. All 3 gave SMU a good challenge. Consequently, I don't see SMU as formidable this year. And add the fact that Tulane, UTSA, and Memphis are just as good or better.. and we battled. It appears we won't have problems with elements with either wind or rain, so both team's offenses should put some numbers on the board. The only thing that scares me is SMU running game. They're better at clock management, so that will be a challenge. I expect our normal busts in that respect. What's interesting is that this game schedule will dictate a very small turnout, with a bit of some creepy weather... and who the hell schedules 8pm games?!? On a Friday eve?!?! Oh yeah PAC12 😂. Ain't nobody want to drive home from a college game at midnight! And I'm DAMN sure not putting ANY money in SMUs pocket with tickets, parking, or concessions! Consequently I think low turnout may force two things...low energy on SMU sidelines...and more quiet focus on the field. You couple that with a potential Preston Stone concussion sitout...and we may have a chance... Also, their backup QB is a much better athlete, so I wouldn't be surprised to see him bust some huge yards RUNNING, and potentially give them a game winning TD bootleg to win a close game! Either case this game will be fun, and pisses me off. As I've mentioned before there is no way SMU would want to be in the same conference as UNT(even back to 2004 CUSA discussion)...and ALL media said no, not a chance they'll leave to P5...yet looky what happened. Another 'told ya so'. I think this game will be closer than we think, however I see this game being won with a backup QB running the hell out of ball around the edges. 48-36 SMU GMG!

Lmao y’all say this every year. You don’t know him so how would you know? I’ve talked to family friends of his when he was supposed to extend and they’d say he’s more than happy in San Antonio mainly because the culture. And it’s not the nasty CULTure going on at A&M.
