I don't even like the Sherman, but that "They built 50,000 of this baby" line is something I can get behind. We tank enthusiasts take such pride and love in vehicles most of us have never even sat inside.
@@travis9458German tanks are the mechanical equivalent of prima donnas, in just hard numbers one on one the German tanks could destroy a Sherman the problem is that most when the German tank would break down It would not only need to be fixed by an expert but There was a good chance that it would need to be sent behind the lines to a factory in order to get repaired, meanwhile the German tankers who were issued captured. Shermans actually liked them for much the same reason the Americans and British did, they were reliable, they were comfortable, they were easy to use, and when it broke down most American farm boys could use the knowledge he gained fixing a tractor to fix the majority of problems with the engine, meaning that your average German mechanic, who probably knew more about an engine than the farmboy could fix it quicker and just as easily, meaning that the Allied armies, had more reliable armor support one tank in the right place at the right time at is worth an entire battalion that happens to be back at the factory getting fixed. Personally, I’m of the opinion that if the Germans had just standardized to the panzer IV and modified the gun to fit Various needs, they would’ve done much better in the war.
It was an open secret by this point Oorai wasn't performing, but since much of the show was from Miho's point of view we never filled in on the details until later against Pravda. Also, Ooarai's Tank Club had been inactive for sometime so that should've been the first sign.
Pretty much, everything Arisa is saying is completely accurate at least, only thing thing poorly translated was the bit where she was saying "they're supposed to abolished soon anyway", the line was supposed to saying that their school (Ooarai, the ones chasing Arisa's tank) was going to shut-down/closed.
"ichi-koro" is the toughest word to translate. (They'd be out in one hit, too) It can be easily and directly translated to "one-kill but "koro" also sounds like something stumbles and flips over. And it's quite often used for depicting the death of a cockroach by one blow of insecticide spray. By and large, Ooarai's tanks are very much as being treated like quite small unimportant creatures or something there.
I don't like............ Sherman runners usally they don't fled unless there 10 to 11 panzers on their ass. Sherman can't destroy 9 and 5 or more panzer if the gunner is great at it.
My best guess is that it frees up better tanks for use in combat. It's admittedly been a while since I saw this episode but weren't they also hiding the flag tank in a forest?
