Sophie Turner, the actress who played Sansa Stark, adopted the dog that played her Dire Wolf. Keep in mind, season 1 was filmed in 2010-2011 which was nearly 14 years ago. Her dog lived it's best life and passed away recently.
I really hope they do the histories and lore for each season after every finale. it builds the world (and characters) so much more and compliments the series perfectly.
"When it was over, he said, "Choose four men and have them take the body north. Bury her at Winterfell." "All that way?" Jory said, astonished. "All that way," Ned affirmed. "The Lannister woman shall never have this skin." -AGOT, Eddard III. At this point there's months of travel from Winterfell. Ned orders his men to take Lady's remains all the way up to the north. She gets buried at the crypts with the Stark ancestors.
@@divyajeevan69 Books. Basically anything you see in this show is expanded upon in the book, at least in the first season, the one thats most faithful.
When they said that they were on the road for a month in the first episode I couldn't believe it. I knew that the show eventually took liberties with how close together every place in Westeros was, but condensing a month of travel into a few days at most is ridiculous.
I love that you guy are writing notes! You'll def be reading them back a lot haha. Glad you're fully immersed! I suggest getting a map too, that helped me loads when reading the book and watching the show. Also rewatchin this now after all the years, man I forgot how amazing the writing was in these early seasons.
Maple you're right. During some uncomfortable to film scenes Jason was extremely attentive to Emilia making sure she felt comfortable and even tried to make her laugh as much as possible to break the tension. They still occasionally go out drinking together and remain good friends which is awesome
As Arya began her story, Ned heard the door open behind him. He glanced back and saw Vayon Poole enter with Sansa. They stood quietly at the back of the hall as Arya spoke. When she got to the part where she threw Joffrey's sword into the middle of the Trident, Renly Baratheon began to laugh. The king bristled. "Ser Barristan, escort my brother from the hall before he chokes." Lord Renly stifled his laughter. "My brother is too kind. I can find the door myself." He bowed to Joffrey. "Perchance later you'll tell me how a nine-year-old girl the size of a wet rat managed to disarm you with a broom handle and throw your sword in the river." As the door swung shut behind him, Ned heard him say, "Lion's Tooth," and guffaw once more.
Wholeheartedly agree. As divisive as the later seasons may be, for the vast majority of its run GoT was simply incredible storytelling of an epic scale. Enjoying this rewatch with Diegesis!
Heard you comment on how kind Jason MoMoa is. He’s so down to earth! Find the Graham Norton interview that Emilia gave when she told what Jason did to put her at ease during their first sex scenes. 😂😂 it’s Hilarious!!!!
A per5son who has only watched the first two episodes does not yet know if either Tyrion or Jamie will be around for even another full episode of the first season? Why would you spoil that that aspect of the show by revealing this information? For all a new viewer knows Jamie might slip on a banana peel and die in the next episode, and Tyrion might fall off the wall while taking that piss.
You really should watch the History and Lore. Its interesting, because its an editors dream, because you can upload the entire reaction w/o copyright strikes from what I'm told. I've watched a hundred reactors do them. They only flesh out and enhance the viewing experience. Please consider reacting to the History and Lore videos!
Sophie Turner adopted "Lady" after this episode. Her name was Zunni, and she lived a happy comfy life with her until she passed of old age about 6 years ago.
11:57-12:09 I knew that moment was bound to create some shock but couldn't determine exactly how disturbed Maple might of actually been by that scene. I remember hearing that Momoa wore a rather ridiculous sock during the filming of that scene in order to get a laugh out of Emilia Clarke, which I'm sure made the scene somewhat bearable.
The little quiver in Ned's face and voice when he talks about Jon's mother. George R R Martin told every character a secret about their characters that wasn't in the books, this was Ned's. A lot of people dislike Sansa in the early episodes, but try and put yourself in her position. She has to tell The King and the Queen that their son, her future husband, is a bully and a liar.
Sansa, while still young and naive, still seems to understand politics better than Arya does. Even if later events never happened, Arya was doing her damndest to make the next king hate her.
Jorah Mormont isn't an ambassador: he's the son of Jeor Mormont, Lord Commander Of The Night's Watch. He was the oldest son, so he would have inherited the Mormont territory of Bear Island, but he had a Southern wife with expensive tastes that he couldn't pay for, so he sold some poachers he caught to slavers from Essos. Slavery is considered abhorent in Westeros, so when Ned Stark found out, (The Starks are "Protectors Of The North", so they outrank other Northern houses like Mormont) he disinherited Jorah and banished him to Essos. Jeor was so ashamed that he gave up his title and took The Black (joined the Night's Watch) and soon became it's leader. Jorah can't go home to Westeros _unless_ he gets a formal pardon from either Ned or the king.
This is information that will be revealed in episodes AFTER the one under discussion. Please do not reveal information the show has not yet given the viewers at this point in the show. That is kind of dickish.
To the Editor: We might share the same brain wave or frequency, in 3:55 i thought the same exact god damned think to the point i belived i was thinking in stereo "Why im thinking and hearing the same thing at the same time? i was sure i was about to have a stroke. That was truthfully hilarious
27:56 Mormont said he had beef with Ned Stark because Ned Stark caught Mormont selling people into slavery and Ned Stark treated that like a crime (and then Viserys Targarian said that that wouldn't be a crime if he were king). So it was worse than Mormont was poaching but killing the Stark sister wasn't mentioned.
Yes, the people sold into slavery were the poachers, not Jorah. As Lord Bear Island, he was entitled to punish the poachers for hunting on his land, but slavery is illegal in the Seven Kingdoms.
You asked if the wolves are connected. And in the books they do have a connection to the Stark kids. A connection that's slightly more than an owner and a pet. It's vaguely mystical in nature and it's tied to some stuff the show won't go very much into, unfortunately.
@@LudusAurea Yes, and the multiple times they do is still not 'very much’ compared to the books. And they are not just connected to their dire wolves. One of them at one point (in the books), while temporarily blinded, sees through the eyes of a cat that just happens to be nearby.
Definitely get used to the C word, you'll be hearing it a fair bit and wanting to call someone it a lot more lol Also, Michelle Fairley (Catelyn Stark) fucking eats her scenes. Her line delivery and sencerity is so engaging
you both should write out the names of the main houses and the members of each family and the hold they from on another sheet. it will be easier to follow when the show jumps from story to story. there are too many to keep up with. also maybe for the women add their maiden name and house they used to belong to.
The biggest whiplash in reading the books after the show is the age disparity. In the show, Ned, Robert, Catelyn, and Cersei seem middle aged or older, an age appropriate for someone to be in a position of political power, but in the book they are all just 36 years old max. They are younger than any US President has ever been, and they have all been in positions of power for more than a decade.
I keep reading similar comments, but technically she didn’t adopt the dog, her parents did. She was just a child when the show started, and from what I have read, once she moved out on her own, the dog did not go with her, but remained with her parents.
REMEMBER sansa is 13, and the story is written with sansa being 11 years old ... think back when you were 11 and you was told to marry a prince and become a queen and then your super annoying sister and him fights ... she didnt expect the dog to be hurt she didnt wanted it she didnt knew what to do people are WAAAAAAAAAY to angry about a 11 (13) year old girl being in this pressure situation i think most kids would have said they had not seen anything just to not need to take a side and just get out of there
Joffrey was a very annoying teen in the first episodes of the show (mild spoiler) however he quickly grew out of it and learned empathy and responsibilities.
Jason Momoa got actually called out multiple times for being arrogant ass and having a huge ego :/ even recently for his behavior on set of the minecraft movie
If u guys do 1 episode a week it well take u guys three years i think❤ and then u already have the house of the dragon two season so add half a year more 😂❤
He did not get banned from Westeros. In fact he is wanted back in Westeros. He is under a death sentence, and is welcome back at any time to receive it.
So great to see you guys having same emotions I had! Can’t wait to monitor the Joeffrey meter (1 being not so bad and 10 being most hated TV character you’ve ever seen) as the series progresses!!😂😂
It is not so funny that people in the comments are even hinting at having any knowledge of Jamie surviving episode 3 of season 1. Its kind of a dick move.
Are people so obsessed with youtubers, that you actually have to put a disclaimer telling people why you are looking down in a video. People, get a life. Lol Next they’ll be asking “why are you breathing?”
"Why are you talking over it so much?" is always one of my favorites. IT'S LITERALLY A REACTION CHANNEL - THAT'S THEIR JOB! if you want to watch the thing in peace then, y'know, just _go and watch it_ ...
I'm sure they'll be able to work that out themselves. Remember they're learning these characters with no knowledge. Comments like this are meant well but are approaching mild spoiler terriroty in my opinion.
I always thought after Ned saw they killed the butchers boy I woulda said that was more then enough the wolf didn’t have to die anymore! Or atleast raise hell that the lannisters just killed the boy in my home without the kings word
@@brendanmetivier511 there not in winterfell when he was told he has to kill the wolf? Even if the kings road I don’t think Robert would have said to kill the boy without atleast speaking to Ned first, lannisters just killed the boy without kings word idk how that was just over looked plus still killed the wolf..
Anyone or anything that harms a Prince will be severely punished in this world. Of course the worse the family is like the Lannisters in this case, the less common sense, decency or context enters the equations. It's fear above all else. It would make no difference, the wolf would still die.
@@bboy95ify They are at least halfway fro Winterfell to King’s Landing. And the Hound, Sandor Clean, is Prince Joffrey Baratheon’s personal bodyguard. Joffrey told everyone that he was the one attacked, and attacking the heir to the throne is and act of treason. So Sandor Clegane apprehended and killed an accused traitor. This is not a world where people accused by the son of the King can expect a fair trial, or even any trial. Arya was spared not so much because of any lack of evidence against her, but because as the daughter of Ned Stark, the lord of Winterfell, she is a very privileged person. I mean, how much of a trial did Ned Stark give to the boy he beheaded in episode one? He even told Bran that the guy was a “madman.” So this is a world where the good guys execute, without any kind of trial, people they themselves believe to be mentally ill.
@@faybancollins Arya is definitely a G, but she's also a kid with no filter, so thats to be expected. Sansa is in her boy crazy phase. I probably would have defended Joffrey too at that age if he was a hot goth girl/princess who was giving me attention lol
