Dany burning children to death proves that Varys was right for trying to betray and eliminate her. She had the red keep in her sights but for whatever reason decided to stall attacking Cersei and instead, murder thousands of innocent people. I know she’s been through a lot of grief and everything but there’s no way you could stand by her actions this episode.

I truly loved her character for the first 6 seasons and will forever be bothered about the way they butchered her entire personality in the end. But you can’t possibly justify her behavior of deliberately killing innocents simply because she felt betrayed and it “affected her.” I blame the writing first and foremost, but canonically, Dany was wrong and Varys was right. Idk how many children of King’s Landing have to be terrorized and butchered by Danaerys for her unconditionally loyal fanbase to admit that her character was wrong and beyond redemption in the end.

Agreed it was a slow burn from the start. From her being sold off to be married to Drogon then loving him only to lose him, then her baby, people trying to assassinate her, to all the people who have betrayed her, losing two dragons after trying to help everyone in the north, losing Missandre, John betraying her trust, Varies betraying her, no one accepting her after all she's done, I'm probably forgetting things, but it was one thing after another throughout the whole series, and burning the city was horrible but I totally get it, I'd say Fu@k it too! 😂

I respect your opinion, but I see it differently. Jon story had meaning. Jon gathered mobilized the armies against the night king. Jon also killed Daenerys to stop her from concurring the world. I don’t like how quickly the writers pushed Daenerys to madness, but it was always coming.

The writers said so themselves..they literally changed things at the last minute. Dany was tough when she need to be. Perfect? Absolutely not. But it’s Game of thrones, she did what she THOUGHT was right most of the time, which everyone does until someone tells them they’re wrong. Jon’s story literally woulda have stayed the same if he was just a stark lol. Jon would’ve still united the armies and killed Dany, no matter what.

It was the catalyst to Dany going mad and him having to kill her. Which is why I think he was brought back, because he was the only one the dragon wouldn't kill, sensing the Targaryen in him.

Telling the audience something makes since with your dialogue while not supporting it with the characters actions is what they did a lot of. Also I think hearing Emilia say she was completely suprised at the turn of the character shows the major flaw of the showrunners: your actors breath life into the characters. You can’t have a real thread or seed of a story arc and NOT tell the actor where it’s headed if that turn is something inside the character and effects her choices. You have to trust them. That’s why the “Mad Queen” doesn’t hold water with us, because it was never created by the person embodying the role

Plus Jon was the rightful heir not Danny so technically if anyone committed treason it was Danny haha. I know people love Danny I did as well…but she turned out to be a terrible person in the end. It’s ok to accept the truth and move on. If you love Danny that’s fine lots of people love and blindly support evil tyrants and over look all of their atrocities it’s kind of a recurring theme in human history. Look at Hitler there are still Nazis in this day in age. Sure Dany‘s plans to kill everyone who wasn’t her army or Jon weren’t motivated by bigotry but she was still a pretty awful person at the end of the day. I know I know Dany “lost everyone” even though she had pretty much everyone on her side helping her take the throne…and even though many other characters lost everyone they loved and cared about as well. But she still decided she would abandon her ideals and morals from season 1-up till this episode and was planning to kill and burn everything…meanwhile the Starks, Jon, and so many other characters lost everyone and everything they cared about minus a few people just like Dany and none of them wanted to exterminate everyone. Say if after Jon lost Ygritte or after winterfell got destroyed by the Night King or after Rickon died in front of him…and Jon snapped and decided he was going to kill everyone on “earth” and start over that would be pretty out of character and he would be a terrible person right? So why is it ok for Dany to do it because her father was an sadistic psycho too? Or because her loss of a servant was more important? Or because it wasn’t out of character for her to enjoy murdering innocent people women and children included? All of those i feel are bs reasons. Oh and let’s not forget that the reason Missandei got captured was because Danny wouldn’t listen to anyone and just ran full speed ahead into Euron to get one of her dragons killed which she had minimal reactions to (another example of the bs writing) and Missandei becoming a hostage. I have tried many times to wrap my head around Dany in the last few episodes of the series but the more I looked into it the more frustrated I was by the rushed nonsensical writing especially when it came to her character.
