The other reason why they can’t resurrect characters all the time is because according to Thoros, he’s simply saying the prayers, and it’s the Lord of Light who CHOOSES whether or not to resurrect the corpse being prayed over. So it’s likely that Thoros or the Red Woman wouldn’t even be able to resurrect every random person they wanted to: only significant figures who have some important part to play in upcoming events.
Both Thoros and Melissandre were at a point where they'd both already lost their faith in the Lord of Light the first time they performed this rite. The Lord of Light resurrected Berric Dondarrion and Jon Snow but also resurrected Thoros and Melissandre's faith in Him.
@@cassandramcbride7007 Don't forget they sacrificed Shireen for a great victory. Edit: Actually never mind. Beric always came back withouth any sacrifice. The red woman doesn't even have the abillty to do this. In the books it's probably Lady Stoneheart who revives Jon.
@@BhBc8f8ell I think the sacrifice is actually Thoros life force keeps getting split or pieces taken and given to beric so your sacrifice theory could still work imo.
The title of the episode is a reference to several characters returning or beginning a journey to their homes: Bran visits Winterfell in a vision; Theon and Eurdon Greyjoy returning to the iron Isles; Arya is allowed to return to the house of Black and White.
I think we were all waiting for your reaction to this episode! Lol I promise you the season just gets better and better as each episode is dropped. I enjoyed your reaction and commentary before and after the episode. Next episode is a banger as well!
not really. it was predictable. i'm more interested in other episodes: 4 5 7 9 10.....9 and 10 and the final episodes and every one can expect them to be interesting. The other ones have just short moments i'm waiting for but i'm excited....moments comparable not with Jon's resurrection but with the biggest highlights of this episode in my opinion: Ramsay killing his father.
"I would've taken you all the way to the wall. I would've died to get you there." If that doesn't redeem Theon and make you love him, I don't know what will.
You wouldn't believe the number of people who think that Tyrion lets the dragons out of the pyramid. Despite not opening the door. Ten house points to MovieFusion.
The (book) fans of this series won't agree, mostly, and that still doesn't change my mind. This season gives us some of the best content in television history, even if it veers from source content. I've also been told that since I liked season 6 so much, that i deserved season 8! 😂 😂 😂
Vviscerion and Rhaegal didn't kill the little girl but were imprisoned for what Drogon did and then they couldnt find him so he's flying around somewhere and his brothers are locked up. There are some who question genders of dragons and if only females can lay eggs, but all of Dany's dragons are all male.
I don’t know whether this would’ve worked or not but when the High Sparrow said together, we can overthrow an empire Jamie should’ve put him immediately under arrest. We have heard them (including the High Sparrow) say numerous times that the Crown and the Faith are the twin pillars that holds society together and that the Crown must accept the laws and judgment of the Faith. Well that should work vice versa that the Faith would have to be subject to the laws and judgment of the Crown. And, making threats to overthrow the King is a crime, and the High Sparrow should’ve been arrested and put on trial. He made the same threat to Lady Olena. If the High Sparrow is truly as holy and ethical as he claims, he would recognize himself he must obey the Crown’s laws and willingly surrender and undergo the Crown’s trial if he expects members of the Crown to be subjugated to the Faith’s laws and rules.
For the record, Hodor doesn't actually have giant's blood. That was Benjen being facetious. He is the Grandson of a legendary knight named Ser Duncan the Tall, "Dunk," who we will meet in the upcoming HBO prequel series about him and his squire, "Egg." The working title of the show is "A Knight Of The Seven Kingdoms." It is worthy of noting that Brienne of Tarth is also Dunk's great granddaughter, and her and Pods story together is written as a reflection of Dunk and Egg's.
@@mamakat114 Old Nan is Hodor's grandmother. In one of Bran's visions he sees a young Nan kissing a very tall young knight. This knight was Ser Duncan the Tall on his visit to Winterfell, which we hope to read someday in "She Wolves of Winterfell," a Dunk and Egg story GRRM has been promising for some time. Id be satisfied to see it adapted for the bew series.
Remember the guy who sold Tyrion & Jorah as slaves (he was Adabisi on Oz). He said a Dwarfs c@ck had magic powers....i wonder, if that is true...maybe the dragons sensed something special in him??
The rules around blood magic are very specific; if Melisandre hadn't burned Shireen, she wouldnt have been able to bring Jon back. Just as Dany wouldn't have her dragons if she hadn't ritually sacrificed Mirri.
@@HuntingViolets I based my assumption upon the phrase we've heard several times, spoken by different characters- only death can pay for life. While it's true that we haven't seen the deaths that paid for Beric's life, we do know that Thoros used to fight with a flaming sword. It's mentioned when discussing the first Ironborn rebellion. It's conceivable that Thoros killed people by fire in this way. This is all conjecture on my part of course. But I don't believe it's all that questionable.
If you see that Gif you were talking about in the future on this show, please let us know what it was. I think one reason why bringing Jon back to life in this show works is because so many other characters they didn't do it for. That shows you it's very rare and Jon is special.
Why should you not be on the side of the Wildlings? They are normal people with our traditions. The only problem is that they live at the wrong part of the Wall (according to the Westerosi).
@@HuntingViolets And? The Westerosi have bad people in their armys, too. You can't condemn a whole folk because of some bad people. Not to forget the Dothraki and their traditions...
I don't think that was a baby; I think it was a little girl, perhaps four. What you were saying made me think about something in the books, though. I recommend reading them when you're done with your watch.
This is where game of thrones and the walking dead differed, the walking dead did piss of viewers by killing glenn then bringing him back just to kill him again lol.
I'm going to tell you about the gender of dragons because it's just plain info from the books. Dragons, it is thought, are sortof gender neutral. It says they can switch genders to lay eggs. But I actually don't love that theory. To me, these three are male, because Danerys named them after her husband and her brothers.
So...Jon is a warg! He went into Ghost, when HE was a ghost, for his second life, like Orell did with his Eagle. And so, when Melissandre came and said those words, boom, healed body and Jon Snow is back in his own body. And that little indication that Ghost did was because Jon, said, "Ok bro, I'll see you in a second." Damn. I've been holding that in all season.
Lol, I don't know if you're being serious, but if so, I have to disagree with you. I know all the Starks have warging abilities in the books, but no one but Brandon has them in the show. Besides, don't you have to be alive to warg? Orell only warged into the eagle as he was dying...once Jon said you were right the whole time, he immediately warged so he could get his last licks in on Jon. I think Ghost moves like that because he senses Jon is about to wake up. Direwolves are very connected to their owners...but that's the extent of it, I'm afraid.
I don’t know, I really don’t like how they revived Jon Snow. GoT was THE show about consequences. I get that he had to come back because he‘s too important for the story, but like that? The Red Women just has to mumble some words and it’s done? Where’s the consequent show I fell in love with? If at least Ghost had to die or something to pay for his life, but like that it just feels lazy and lame
@@BhBc8f8 it’s not really about if it’s consistent with the laws of the world. GoT has very very very soft world building, a lot is potentially possible. So the problem is not that. In the case of Beric it’s simply part of his character that he always comes back, he was introduced like that, while Jon is an established main character for five seasons and gets killed in one of the biggest cliffhangers ever and then they resolve it like that. And I think that’s lazy and lame 🤷♂️
