Remember, the sword that Jaime gave Brienne was made from the melted down Ice, so Brienne is defending Sansa with the Stark's ancient Valyrian Steel.

I was so impressed by Jaime in this episode. He lost his ability to be a great warrior but has become quite a military strategist. When he saw that he could not discuss with Edmure cause Edmure only saw him as the monster that he used to be, Jaime used that perception to scare the living Hell out of Edmure for him to do what he wanted. Whereas Tywin would have torched the whole place, Jaime took it without any loss of life(except Black Fish).

THANK YOU! So few see this. Most are like "Oh, Jaime's back to being evil again." No. He was not going to kill Edmure's child - he bluffed and knew Edmure would fall for it because, as you said, he sees Jaime as a monster, and he just saw Jaime lecture the Freys about never to make idle threats.

The movies just wanted us to hate Jamie again, which, 🖕. But it hit me later, wait, if his army attacked, Brienne would have had to fight. So he was trying to get in without fighting.

26:20 Yall are right about how Trial by Combat is designed to allow knights and lords and royals to get away with crimes in trials with simply fighting. Though if you're not a great fighter yourself and you're going up against the crown you will need someone who truly believes in your cause to fight for you as a king or a lord can summon most of the greatest kingsguards/knights a their champion. So to succeed you will need a worthy fighter that believes your cause to be just. However the fact that this is only for knights and nobles shows how this is discriminatory to lowborn and easily manipulated for the strong, powerful, and influential to commit crimes on the weak and powerless.

The point of not showing her landing is cause we are suppsoed to think they have breached the pyramid. It obviously misses the mark because how would they be on top of it vs coming up from the bottom, but that was the intention, showing tyrion gasp in fear, walk slowly towards the door w the guards at the ready...which admittedly theynstill.could have done w carters directorial debut and just tyrion would be the only one worried...but they wanted us to worry w him.

So a trial by combat only occurs if there isn't really conclusive evidence. There's plenty of times in the books where no trial is given at all. Not everyone always has a right to trial.

Jaime cunningly spared the lives of thousands of soldiers. He took the castle without bloodshed. He kept his promise and let the Tully soldiers leave. Edmure was Frey's prisoner and Jaime did not promise him his freedom. The Blackfish, on the other hand, didn't give a shit about anyone other than his own stubborn pride. He must have realized that there was no winning. Sooner or later, the Freys/Lannisters would have taken the castle, either by force or until the Tullys were starved out. He was given the opportunity to get everybody out and go put his army to good use helping his niece regain the North, but no.

The Chosen would be a great show for y’all to watch and react to. It’s a free show and amazing in my opinion. There are 4 seasons out now, 5 is on the way and 6 and 7 hasn’t been filmed yet. Great story and cinema, episode 4 is when the show really takes off :) Hope y’all check it out and enjoy.

I believe through season 5, the show was its strongest. After season 6 they don't have the books to go off of anymore, so it's a creative process between GRRM and the showrunners. GRRM said in an interview, he wanted the show to go to 10 seasons minimum (really 13) to close out the show right and to not rush things.

24:32 Jaime is not Lord of Casterly rock due to kingsguard not being able to inherit (yeah Jaime’s not kingsguard anymore, but it’s a grey area, and Tywin died before he was fired anyway). Cersei is lady of casterly rock, but I guess since she’s more acting in a capacity as Queen mother and Kevan is pretty entrenched in the power structure of the Westerlands, he’s got some grip on their activity. The show is less clear on it than the books, as with a lot of things.

"One of our favorite series of all time" is sweet and all, but doesn't carry a lot of weight when you haven't watched most mainstream series even 😅

season 6 sucks because they are the stepping stones for plot armor and bad story writing in the upcoming seasons. Also makes no sense the faith military just runs away because 1 zombie, they are fanatics if their leader demands cercei they will bring her even if all of them die, isn´t that what was making them manecing over the past episodes that they don´t care for the lives because they are many and now they tell me one zombie is enough and you have them under controll. It´s stupid and makes no sense, you don´t see it now but with more and more bullshit like this happening more often your eyes will be open by the ammount of stupidtiy that happens in the later seasons
