Tolkien canon is pretty easy outside of edge cases like Christopher editing the published Sil. If it's written by Tolkien it's canon, if he didn't it's not. It may contain contradictory versions, but that's just how many mythologies are. There's no internally consistent version of Tolkien's Legendarium that doesn't omit most of what he wrote.
HotD 2 was pretty good,Rings of Power 2 was okay...but Galadriel forgot...that she told Adar that he would be just handing his army over to Sauron...so she just HANDS OVER the nine rings to Adar's schlub of a "son"...ugh,a bad school play
I'm actually suprised about this take on RoP because... RoP S1&2 are both as badly written, if not worse, than GoT S8. Worse dialog, more inconsistencies, no logic, breaking its own Canon, nonsensical decisions, rough acting added to that... I've not seen or heard anyone calling S2 better than S1 either, so I'm kinda suprised to here it hear of all places first.
@OfficialRedTeamReview yep. this was probably just an answer to the video title when i first started watching. Kind of a "comment to make sure I comment " sort of thing
Rings of Power was drastically better this season - turns out due to long pandemic delay, season 1 was written before Amazon shifted away from the binge model, so it was paced like a long movie…then released AFTER they shifted to episodic release. Compare the Boys Season 1 to season 2 release. But Rings season 2 was written KNOWING it would be released episodically, so it was paced accordingly.
Ahhhh…. I don’t agree at all. This season was abject nonsense from beginning to end. Especially with Sauron’s plan being as mind bogglingly stupid as it is with relying on blind luck or on the character’s around him being either stupid or contradictory to their personality for every single point. It also doesn’t really understand how utterly balked the ending was and how badly it ruins galadriels character even more thoroughly than she started. No character escapes without damage from the remarkably poorly structured plot. I would say the pacing was worse than season one because it doesn’t seem to understand the rules of time and space. I honestly don’t understand why anybody could like this show. There’s no good element in it. If you want to do a live discussion sometime I’d love to chat since I’d really like to understand your perspective.
That explains it Season 1 was painfully dull and slow. This one was pretty eventful. Except for the Numenor scenes, which are still a bit of a chore to watch. I think Yoystan said Numenor should have only been introduced in S3 and there's something in that.
