Finally!!!! If you didn’t see any of our messages on the community tab or Twitter (@NikkiSteveReact) we had some major technical difficulties with the export of this video. This has nothing to do with a schedule change, video was ready for publish at 2am Pacific Time. I had to export at a different setting so if something is off, that is likely why. It’s a long one but here it is, enjoy!!!!!

@spacemonkeyentertainment6413
@spacemonkeyentertainment6413 5 лет назад
Yes, but it wasn't as calculated as that explanation might make it sound. The tension was rising in the NIght's Watch from the beginning with two distinct groups being at each others throats constantly. The way i see it Jon was pissed, like really really pissed. He became Lord Commander and was still despised by his own men who took every possible occasion to speak up against him, because they thought he'd just take it. He tried to be diplomatic and give Ser Allisar Thorn a high position to appease the faction, yet had to remove the loudest mouth - Janos Slynt. A brilliant move to take back control of the situation. So when Janos ran his mouth again, because that's what the little shit always does, despite basically been given the mercy of "let's forget about what happened and get you to be useful for a change", all that frustration came boiling up just like it did for Robb previously. Also i am not sure as to how much Jon was aware of Slynt's involvement with Ned's death, since i haven't read the books and afaik the show is ambiguous on that issue. If he was, that would be a big reason to hold a personal grudge. Kit Harington played the shit out of that scene imo. You can almost feel the anger and the relief the beheading gave him. I just love it.

I always kinda thought that Danny thought of herself as a slave when vis was alive. She was sold off without her permission and even before that, she never had a say in anything pertaining to her own life. So she really identifies with the slaves she sees. Or maybe I'm dead wrong, that's what's great about GOT, it is so open to interpretation

You're not wrong; she begins her story as property, essentially. But for Drogo falling in love with her, she'd be a "slave in all but name" still. She couldn't abide it when the Dothraki took slaves & she hasn't changed. I also like to think Daenerys is smart enough to know what she doesn't know. The show aged her up but she's only about 20 at this point.

You can't blame Jon Snow. Also, remember, Janos Slynt played a part in Ned's death in season 1. He turned his city guards against Ned and his men when Ned tried to make Cersei and Joffrey step down from the throne. If Jon was aware of this, I don't blame him for cutting off Slynt's head, on top of his insubordination.
@dwnkaomwn3953
@dwnkaomwn3953 5 лет назад
And he also killed Robert Baratheon's illegitimate children. The youngest one of them was still an infant. Killed right in front of her mother. Jon Snow avenged those deaths.
@UTU49
@UTU49 5 лет назад
I think the only other option Jon had was to give Janos Slynt a 2nd chance... but then he would have to make an example of the next insubordinate, to remind everyone that the Night's Watch duties are not optional. He would then lose THAT man... and still have Slynt around. It might be the better option to make the statement immediately, and only lose a dead weight jackass like Slynt. If you believe in a medieval society that uses capital punishment, then I think Jon employed it sensibly.
@Ryder-ye9fo
@Ryder-ye9fo 5 лет назад
guys...jon had no other choice! Slynt refuse his comand, so he must die. So are the rules. The other reason why he have to do that is because he must show his strenght as the commander. Tyrion thought of Shae when the prostitute accepted to go with him. He is like many other guys after a breakup. He still loves her and is unable to get over his pass relation with a prostitute. Often men will even sacrifice what they love the most because it's only reminding them of their pain. It's like even after her death, he wanted to be faithful to her, to his feeling. Also he probably knows that prostitute are prostitute, if someone offer them more money, then they'll leave you. The story could easily repeat itself.

I do think Tyrion was thinking about Shae when he reconsidered sleeping with the brothel woman. He was in love with Shae and was heartbroken over her betrayal and the fact that he had to kill her. He just hadn't realized the depth of his despair until this moment. As for Sansa, poor girl is always put in these horrid situations. But she plays the game well, I love how you guys see that and acknowledge her. Too many overlook her strength. It's subtle, but it's there. Her courtesy is her armor.

21:45 "This is wrong, Jon thought. "Stop." Emmett turned back, frowning. "My lord?" "I will not hang him," said Jon. "Bring him here." "Oh, Seven save us," he heard Bowen Marsh cry out. The smile that Lord Janos Slynt smiled then had all the sweetness of rancid butter. Until Jon said, "Edd, fetch me a block," and unsheathed Longclaw. [...] Janos Slynt twisted his neck around to stare up at him. "Please, my lord. Mercy. I'll ... I'll go, I will, I ..." No, thought Jon. You closed that door. Longclaw descended. "Can I have his boots?" asked Owen the Oaf, as Janos Slynt's head went rolling across the muddy ground. "They're almost new, those boots. Lined with fur." Jon glanced back at Stannis. For an instant their eyes met. Then the king nodded and went back inside his tower." THIS. IS. FUCKING. GOLD. Stannis and Jon clearly share a bond, but neither want to say it out loud. Even Mel says that they have more in common than they would like to admit; both live in the shadow of their older brothers, etc. It's like Jon is the son Stannis always wanted. Well, Jon is the son everyone always wanted; Benjen, Jeor, Qhorin, Donal Noye, Mance, etc. This nod says everything, though. A defining moment for both characters. "Frog-faced Lord Slynt sat at the end of the council table wearing a black velvet doublet and a shiny cloth-of-gold cape, nodding with approval every time the king pronounced a sentence. Sansa stared hard at his ugly face, remembering how he had thrown down her father for Ser Ilyn to behead, wishing she could hurt him, wishing that some hero would throw him down and cut off his head. But a voice inside her whispered, There are no heroes…" (AGOT, Sansa VI)

Mathias Eriksson This line just shows what Nikki and Steven said about Stannis at 17:29. Davos is the one that goes smoothly, but Stannis just say his deals to the face. That's why they are a good duo though. Also, Davos is one of the few that don't flatter him, that's why Stannis chose him to be his hand.

Richard Lucas "Stannis had never learned to soften his speech, to dissemble or flatter; he said what he thought, and those that did not like it could be damned." - Maester Cressen Exactly. The reason Davos was made lord was because of his qualities as a man, not the matter of his birth. Davos would never have become Lord and Hand of the King under any other king than Stannis. I like that Stannis says what he likes. Davos was raised high for the exact same reason, he tells Stannis the truth. The hard truth. “For your onions and fish, I made you a knight once. For this, I am of a mind to raise you to lord.” This? Davos was lost. “I am content to be your knight, Your Grace. I would not know how to begin being lordly.” “Good. To be lordly is to be false. I have learned that lesson hard. Now, kneel. Your king commands.” This is the passage where Davos is made Lord and HotK.

Steven, one of the main reasons Daenerys stayed and ruled Meereen is because she cares about her people. Since the death of Drogo she has been trying everything to save the people around her - first the Dothrakis, then slaves of Astapor, Yunkai, and now those of Meereen. We as audience have seen Westeros and are deeply invested in their stories. But to Daenerys Westeros is still an abstract idea. She has never been there. So no matter how much she hears about how she is the rightful heir to the Iron Throne, that is less important when she sees actual slaves and children suffering. Saving them validates her identity and drive, so she decided to stay in Meereen and rule.

I find Jon Snow to be incredibly good listener and learner. He pays attention to what he is being told, friend or foe, he collects this pieces of advice and uses them for his personal growth. And in the execution scene, you can recognize influence from several different people, Ned Stark - whoever pass the sentence, should swing the sword, Stannis - keep your enemies far, and even Ser Alliser - "Do you know what leadership means, Lord Snow? It means that the person in charge gets second guessed by every clever little twat with a mouth. But if he starts second guessing himself, that's the end. For him, for the clever little twats, for everyone.". And what Janos Slynt did was basically second guessing. Plus, it's kind of poetic justice for Ned Stark as well, although Jon probably wasn't aware of that. There are few more examples of this "Jon Snow the learner" observation of mine not related to today's episode. For example, I think he wasn't offended by word bastard, not even once, after Tyrion's "Never forget what you are. The rest of the world will not. Wear it like armor, and it can never be used to hurt you”.

I totally understand the argument that Dany should get out of Mereen (and at this point in the series, I kind of side with that argument) but I do understand the other side too which is that she feels like she needs to prove that she can handle ONE city before she tries to handle SEVEN kingdoms. And at this point what we're seeing is that she's not a perfect ruler and has a lot to learn. Maybe learning in Mereen and making mistakes in Mereen is worth it, whereas a mistake trying to take the seven kingdoms could mean her end. I also feel that she has a fire in her to get rid of slavery (since she WAS a slave ).
@naosou921
@naosou921 5 лет назад
The thing is that she wants to change the entire culture of that one city, while in the Seven Kingdoms it wouldn't be so. Although, if she tried to start changing the culture of the Seven Kingdoms she would find even more push back since she wouldn't be dealing with slaves using daggers and spears, but with lords that have fully equipped armies.

Now that you're 5 seasons in, it may be instructive for you two to revisit the pilot episode (especially the cold open) and watch it through your enlightened perspective. It'll inform you a bit about the practices and procedures of the Night's Watch and fill in some blanks about the White Walkers and wights. You'll also be amazed at how different the scenes will feel when viewing it with 5 seasons worth of frames of reference. It'll seem like a completely different show than you remembered. It's not just that Dany wants to be a ruler, it's that Dany wants to be a GOOD ruler. This is the whole reason she won't just leave for Westeros even though it delays her ultimate goal.

To answer your question at the start. 1) Her character structure does not allow her to leave. Everything that makes Daenerys such a likable character to her fans is what is driving her to stay and help these people. Her empathy and compassion. 2) You are correct, in the larger narrative, it is also about adding a leadership quality to her character that she has never really had to use. Up to this point she has been a conqueror. Whether it was conquering/overcoming her situation with her brother and her marriage with Drogo, dealing with people who wished to use her, or quite literally being a badass and taking cities she has always overcome these obstacles by deconstructing the situation and adapting. Tearing down what is traditional and conquering the moment. Now she has to deal with the difficulties of having her choices questioned. It is easy to destroy, it is far more difficult to rebuild and unite what is left after you have torn apart everything that is status quo. Hope that helps. :)

You have to realize, Dany does not have a large army, nor the ships to move them across the Narrow/Poison Sea. Not to mention, strictly from a strategy standpoint, waiting makes sense, because it allows the War of the Five Kings to play out, (despite Joffrey claiming the war was over at the Purple Wedding, Tommen, Stannis, and Balon Greyjoy are all still alive) and ultimately the lords of Westeros would weaken each other, prior to Dany's arrival. If she invaded now, it would likely lead to a truce between at the very least Balon and the Lannisters, and likely Stannis as well, since both Tommen's and Stannis' claims to the throne rest on the illegitimacy of Dany's. It is not well represented in the show, but most of the Westerosi people loved the Targaryen kings, excluding the Mad King, and the Mad King's children, Danaerys, Viserys, and Rheagar were beloved by the people. Sure, Dany has 3 dragons, but Visenya, Rheanys, and Aegon the Conquerer, the original dragon lords of Westeros, (whom Tywin and Arya discuss at Harrenhal) were trained warriors, and had been riders for years by the time they started their invasion, AND they had the support of Robert, Renly, and Stannis' ancestor, Orys Baratheon, who married into the Targaryen family. (Thus why they have Kings blood, despite acquiring the throne by rebellion) And even then, they failed to conquer Dorne, and mostly stalemated with the North. (None of this is spoilery, just bits of backstory that often sneaks into the show, but they don't have the time to elaborate on) Jorah's comment about the Queen is meant to be intentionally vague to create tension and suspense. Also, fun side note: The prostitute/wench dressed as Dany is meant to illustrate that the world now views Dany as the most beautiful woman in the world, a title Cersei had long held. This was predicted by the witch young Cersei visited in the flashback cold open earlier this season, who suggested a younger, more beautiful queen would arrive, attempting to take her place. That, combined with what we know about the royal family's heritage, as well as Joffrey's recent death gives credence to the witch's prophecy, tho like with all Game of Thrones prophecies, they are meant to be just vague enough to where they all can seem believable one instance, and ridiculous the next. So it is ultimately up to the individual audience members to decide if they believe they are true or not.
@alexjames4770
@alexjames4770 5 лет назад
@@jcompton8507 Almost all of what you pointed out was reasons the people disliked the Mad King tho. Sure, many of the dragon lords had bad titles, but you also have to remember that by the time we are introduced to the story, the Baratheons have spent over a decade spreading anti-Targ propoganda. I would go into further detail, but obviously we would be entering spoiler territory then. Also, Jon Arryn convinced the Tullys and Starks to join the 3 families in marriage, (with the intent that Robert would later marry Lyanna) because of the rebellion. It is stated the weddings literally happened just before they marched to war. Not to mention some form of marital ties would likely have been formed between the Arryns, Starks, and Baratheons, considering that Jon, Ned, and Robert were life long friends, thanks to the younger two being fostered by the elder. And technically the Blackfyres were not people of Westeros, they were a lesser branch of the Targaryen family, led by a Targaryen bastard, Daemon.
@jcompton8507
@jcompton8507 5 лет назад
Alex - In your original post, you wrote "It is not well represented in the show, but most of the Westerosi people loved the Targaryen kings, excluding the Mad King," and in my first response I listed all of the Targ Kings that were not in any way "loved." By my count, there were at least 8 of them that were either unprincipled, sickly, crazy, downright cruel, or some combo of these. As for you saying in your reply that I was pointing out reasons people hated the Mad King, I didn't list a single reason. I could have talked about his uncleanliness. I could have talked about him raping his wife. I could have talked about how he liked burning people with wildfire. But I didn't. My post was intended to counter your claim that most Targs were loved (which I think it was 50/50), to offer perspective as to why the realm was tired of Targ leadership leading up to the Rebellion, and (though I forgot to make an argument of this specifically) to provide reasons for why at this time on the show (and in the book) I doubt Dany would have been well-received in Westeros. Why would she be when there were other better-supported contenders for the thrown (e.g. sweet Tommen married to Margaery or Stannis) from, at this point in time, more powerful Westerosi families. Also, I had meant in my first reply to counter your claim that the Mad King's children were loved. Firstly, Dany was not "loved" before she fled to Essos. No one knew her. She was born on Dragonstone after the Mad King was overthrown, and they fled the Kingdom while she was still a newborn. Also, Viserys was something like 8 years old when the Targ Dynasty fell and already showed signs of being petulant and having a personality like his father. No one in the realm thought to love him. He was a bratty kid. As for Rhaegar, while I do believe that those that really knew him loved him (e.g. the Kingsguard) and many in the realm may have thought the melancholy Prince was intelligent, a good fighter, and a man with a lot of potential, it should be noted that at least 4 of the 7 Kingdoms (the North, Stormlands, Riverlands, and Dorne) hated him for running off with Lyanna. The only Targ that I *do* believe was probably beloved was Rhaella. As for who was spreading anti-Targ propoganda? I think many highborn families were by the time the Mad King was ruling. As for the Rebellion itself, you suspect the Baratheons, but I don't think Robert was that smart. Plus, he was only something like 18 years old when the Rebellion started, and his parents were dead. Stannis was even younger, and Renly was like 6 years old. If I had to place my bet on the who was out to get the Targs, I would look more closely at Tywin Lannister - the former hand who had a falling out with the Mad King. The scene in Season 4 where Joff questions what Tywin was doing during the Rebellion makes me all the more suspicious that he was at least one of the puppetmasters. (I suspect Varys was up to something, too.)

Jon Snow couldn't really let him defy an order in such a disrespectful way, and then just leave the beheading an empty threat as soon as he started begging. He HAD to show that such a thing will NOT go unpunished, and that it is too late to beg forgiveness after you realize what the consequence of your disobedience and disrespect will be. I 100% agree with Steven here - Jon did the right thing, and showed himself to be a tough but fair leader. Ned raised an amazing young man

Did you understand the reality of what was meant by her asking Cersei if the correct title is "Queen Mother" or "Dowager Mother"? A Dowager is a term for a widow who has ownership over property or title passed to her from her late husband. Therefore what she is really doing is reminding Cersei of the fact that her only real claim to any power is through her marriage to Robert and that her sons are born of incest.

Steven, my dude, regarding Dany staying in Essos... As much as I would have loved for her to cross the sea to Westeros in like, season 4... As impatient as I was at the time too... Nikki is right in that, once you start something, you can't just abandon it. Not if you want to be respected, which Dany does. If she was mad like her ancestors and just wanted power, it'd be a whole different story. Because of Jorah and Barristan's counsel, she realizes she needs to win over the hearts and minds of the small folk. Conquering and ruling are vastly different things. Once she freed her first group of slaves, that became her new mission in life. Or at least, the most important mission for this moment in time. All the other stuff (i.e. Westeros) can be put on the back burner for now. Even though, from the first time I saw and heard the dragons, I could not wait for her to get her ass across that sea. Also, keep in mind, she isn't very confident she has enough men to not only conquer Westeros, but hold it against any enemies.

Jon absolutely made the right call regarding Janos Slint. As a new, and very young, Lord Commander, he had to set the tone, and Slint provided him with an excellant opportunity to show what Jon's boundaries are. Also, remember, Slint betrayed Ned and ordered the City Watch of Kings Landing to kill Ned's men in the throne room in Season 1. That's one of the reasons Tyrion sent him to the wall, because he knew he was a snake in the grass, and couldn't be trusted. Janos Slint had it coming. I think is was great that one of Ned's kids got to execute him.

A lot of people get frustrated at Danaerys for taking her time in getting to Westeros, and I was one of those people. However, I understood that, whether or not it was her intention, she's laying the foundation for becoming the ruler of the seven kingdoms as she goes from place to place, showing her compassion and mercy by freeing slaves, while also showing assertiveness and strength by commanding and maintaining order. This helps ensure that she gains allies and soldiers. It also helps ensure that by the time she gets to Westeros, she will not only be seen as a force to be reckoned with, but as a ruler the people would prefer.

3:30 This is something that only gets hinted at on the show, but is explained in more detail in the books. Myreen, yunkai, astapor, and all other major cities around slavers bay are all old colonies of Valeria when Valeria was still an empire. The valerian empire built dragonstone as a western outpost near Westeros, but it was pretty insignificant. The targaryans were a minor house that ruled dragonstone for the empire. When the doom destroyed Valeria, the empire fell, the colonies went their own way as city states, and the targaryans, used their army and dragons to invade Westeros. They landed at 'kings landing and started conquest. But when the kings of Westeros saw what dragons could do, most surrendered and bent the knee. Kings landing was built as the new capital of the new westeros-targaryan empire, and the kings of Westeros became lords under the new targaryan king (except Dorne). They each were allowed to rule their own kingdom as a lord, as long as they swore loyalty to the targaryan king in king's landing. The colonies in slavers bay became independent city states that were built on trade and slavery. So in a way, dany is in her ancestral home, among the decendants of old Valeria, Whereas Westeros is a conquered land of subjects that were forced to live under targaryan rule for centuries wether they liked it or not. And Roberts rebellion in a way ''freed'' Westeros from this targaryan subjugation. This is also a reason why dany 'lingers' in myreen.

I wanted to address the question you asked at the beginning of the video about whether or not we agree with Daenerys' choice to stay in Mereen, and I think it's worth noting that we've seen enough issues with her ruling style to know that, if she had left for Westeros by now, even if she had totally conquered the Seven Kingdoms and become Queen at this stage in the game, she would have totally sucked at it. Even if you hate Mereen and the slave cities, I think you would agree that she might as well make all her mistakes and learn from them now as opposed to when she goes to take on the thing she actually wants.

I guess the logical thing with Daenerys is that her being in Mareen (probably spelt wrong!) creates a lot more potential storylines for the writers and it builds a lot more tension for her potential arrival in Westeros, should she get there. Daenerys is all about justice and making the world a better place. She specifically believes, she can do that for Essos, but also in the endgame for Westeros - therefore not just brutally conquering it. She wants to "break the wheel" of hatred power plays. So it wouldn't make much sense for her to leave Essos in a miserable situation like that. It's not all about her wanting The Iron Throne because she's the rightful heir, she wants to do things the 'right' way - or at least whatever that means in her mind.

Jon takes this advice by naming Ser Alliser First Ranger, a responsibility that would usually keep him away from Jon & ridding Janos Slynt to Greyguard & later beheading him. Also notice how Jon looks to Stannis before & after he beheads Slynt, I think that a lot of ppl, myself included,underestimate the affect Stannis had on Jon in his decision to kill Slynt upon first watch.

There are definitely people out there who think, 'they're just watching TV, how hard is that, where's my goddamn upload?' But yeah glad you're getting the love and appreciation that helps you keep banging these out.

Personally I think if Daenerys had fled the area and gone on to her main mission of the iron throne, then she should never have interfered with the system/government that was in place. By freeing the slaves and changing the laws, she now has a responsibility to these people. I also think that she truly cares about what happens to the people and wants to help them. I don't see how her conscience would allow her to free slaves then just leave them on their own. I know that one guy came in and asked if he could be sold back to his former master but we're not seeing or hearing about any kind of large numbers asking for this, which leads me to think that clearly most of them don't want to go back to that. I know her main goal is the iron throne but the iron throne isn't going anywhere. Ok back to the video. Yea, I paused it for this cause I didn't want to forget about it at the end!

I mean, they have to definitely at least react to Robert's Rebellion, A Dance with Dragons and Conquest and Rebellion. They don't have to keep the video under 10 minutes either and watch the whole thing because it's all available on RU-vid.

Here, have a quote that's gonna make Nikki cry. “Needle was Robb and Bran and Rickon, her mother and her father, even Sansa. Needle was Winterfell's grey walls, and the laughter of its people. Needle was the summer snows, Old Nan's stories, the heart tree with its red leaves and scary face, the warm earthy smell of the glass gardens, the sound of the north wind rattling the shutters of her room. Needle was Jon Snow's smile. He used to mess my hair and call me "little sister," she remembered, and suddenly there were tears in her eyes.” This was what was going through Arya's mind during the scene where she was about to give up Needle in the books. (It's okay, Nikki, I cried too).

I like how I've seen this show so many times, but I never really put together the parallels between Arya and Sansa. Everyone Sansa finds herself with betrays her or uses her. Everyone Arya finds herself with helps her and protects her.

@jessicahall7370 5 лет назад
Look back at all the times Sansa has had offers of help, but through circumstances beyond her control or poor decision-making, have slipped through her fingers and she’s left with dubious people. Arya has never asked for help, but keeps falling in with people (by chance or her choice to help them) that are scary and good-hearted. Two sides of the same coin.

@@jessicahall7370 But who has actually offered to help Sansa that she could say were fully trustworthy? Nobody. She had to take the best and most reasonable option she could get.

Garden Rose: The Hound offered to help her and Brienne. I understand that she didn't trust them, but they offered.
@roseofthegarden_
@roseofthegarden_ 5 лет назад
@@aaronia8092 But this is what I mean by reasonable. Sansa can't just jump at any old opportunity handed to her, she has to be smart here. She has a famous name and recognizable features. She has to be hidden well. Who could have easily done this for her? As we saw, the Hound couldn't, and Brienne couldn't either. What could either of them have done for her? At least Arya had more common looks and could pass for a boy. Sansa would stick out like a sore thumb. 1. The Hound was drunk off his ass, threatening her and had frightened her many times in the past, despite saving her, he is Joffrey's sworn sword as well. Had I been in her position even as an adult, I'd be hesitant to go anywhere with him during a battle, much less as a 12 year old girl. Especially considering the fact that he was leaving to begin with, because Stannis was winning and Stannis needed Sansa alive and well for Robb to even consider bending the knee. 2. Brienne came up to her wearing Lannister armor and sword. That alone gives Sansa reasonable doubt to go anywhere with her. On top of it, Brienne is known for failing as King Renly's sworn sword, and failing to protect Catelyn Stark, Sansa's mother. Meanwhile, Sansa is surrounded by guards from the Vale with Littlefinger protecting her, no one having noticed her except Podrick, who was more familiar with her due to being around King's Landing. So like I said, Sansa may have had "opportunities," but some folks act like those choices were something to jump at. It's like being offered a ride to a meeting you're nearly late for, but the only choice you have is to ride in a creepy looking van with a suspect stranger or decide to call your boss, hoping they'll accept your absence without a loss of job. Sure, you have the opportunity to take the ride and make it on time, and you can't be 100% certain your boss won't flip, but that doesn't mean it's an obvious choice to make. You need to think smart and consider the possibility that while taking the ride may be a quick and "easy" way out your predicament, that it may not be a stable or safe option for you.

I understand. It's only in our perspective as viewers that we can say she might have been better with any of them than with Littlefinger. But she did what seemed better for her.

George tied himself into a "Meereenese knot" when he kept Daenerys in Meereen. There is a ton of stuff that happens in the last two books (A Feast For Crows and A Dance With Dragons) that complicates the series and kind of creates a bit of drag on the story overall. The showrunners have done a lot starting with this season to pare that down and as such there are many notable deviations from the books, starting with this season. That's about as much as I want to say but Meereen is a problem because as much as we may want Dany to move on, leaving Slaver's Bay to fall back into the hands of Slavers would not reflect well on her. You aren't a Queen if your power isn't respected. Anyhow: Margaery is a G, an expert at shade throwing in the most subtle of ways. Nikki, your reaction to Sansa's marriage is EVERYTHING. Podrick is a gem. Jon just made it very clear that you don't fuck with him, AND he also avenged Ned's death since Janos Slynt was the City Watch captain and turned on Ned for money & a castle. Great vid, can't wait for your next reactions!

How much I loathe Janos Slynt, I understand why Janos didn't support Ned. He had to stay loyal to the crown (and Littlefinger, who paid the Gold Cloaks). After all, what Ned did was considered treason, so Janos would be stupid to support Ned's protest.

Joffrey, Myrcella and Tommen being bastards was treason. He just chose the side that offered more money.

Hi Nikki & Steven, your videos are great, love watching reactions of people who have the same passion for GOT. This is my first channel subscription! This ep is one of my favorite (for the development of Jon Snow's character), you could see he was trying to follow Ned as much as he could, even though he really didn't want to execute Slynt. He knew he had to, to fulfill his duties as Lord Commander. Ned Stark: "The man who passes the sentence should swing the sword".
