Remember when you needed a ring in the original just to move a big rock. Now you just attach a stick to a big rock and fling it around like it's nothing.
Nothing can go all time high forever. Everything tends towards average. So, if BOTW was awesome, it expected that Tears of The Kingdom will not be better. Best is to lower expectations, because hapiness is The result of a simple equation: reality - expectation = hapiness.
Love the fact that there’s actual competition for GOTY this year. 2023 will go down as one of the best years for high quality game releases. But come on, it’s Zelda.
They're too afraid to indepth talk about it because of the same 12 people whining all over reddit and their multiple fake accounts across social media.

Another great show this week guys! Always love some Scoops! Quick question? Is it 'thee-ot rhythm'? I've always thought it was called 'theater rhythm'...
We gamers we really complain a lot. Breathe of the Wild was earth shattering for Zelda games for open world games in general. We forget that six years ago we had never seen anything like this. We had played games that were supposedly open world where you could go anywhere do anything, but they always had restrictions on them. They could always feel empty didn’t feel full wasn’t always enough to do something around every corner to catch your eye. Nintendo turns up and deliver the game that does everything you ever wanted an open world game. They put the competition to shame. Horizon was a great game that year 9.0 easy whenever you computer to breath of the wild, there was no comparison. The sequel to Horizon a game that was made five years later still no comparison. Sure the game had better graphics. It had more ability to explore, but it still had some limiting factors. Everybody said man the game that was made six years ago was better at open world. In fact, when we ask ourselves since the last Zelda game, have we seen anyone do open world as well as they have in the last 6 years, the answer is no. Nobody has even tried to do things as well as they did. I’m not throwing Shade at Elden Ring that was one of the best souls games ever and that open world was amazing, but even then it wasn’t wide up to the level of breath of the wild, but it was a fair attempt. No other publisher has come close. What’s our response? It looks the same. Wait a minute nobody else has done this before. Nobody else has done this since if they show up and make something similar to what they made before to tell you something you’re going to get something great probably another masterpiece.
confused... why does a remake get consideration, but not a remaster? both are old games, so they should be on equal footing. maybe a new rule: if you could've won game of the year in any other year, you can win it present year. (?)
Because a remake is where the game was actually changed, new character designs/models, new scenes, deleted scenes, different gameplay mechanics, etc. A remaster doesn't really change anything other than resolution, textures and framerate generally.
Remakes are new games that keep varying amounts of the original the same depending on the game. Remasters are basically just ports with small improvements.
There still hasn't been a more involved open world game then BOTW. Where you can be impactful to the world and you feel you are a part of it. Hogwarts legacy and Elden Ring dont even come close to that feeling.
