Basically, the game recieved quite a lot of criticism for playign the "White guy comes in, is better at native stuff than the natives, and saves them from evil" trope painfully straight, which is kind of a problematic trop because it ties to the whole colonialism issue. The heead writer (or senior dev, i don't remember) tried defendign himself by sayign that the game WASN'T a "White savior" story, but a parody of a white savior story. Which is the old "I was just joking" justification.

@@arthenosthefirst8176 I think the point of the game isn't the fact that he is white just that jason is thrust into a brand new environment and he has to do whatever he has to do to survive. He starts out with good intention, just wanting to save his friends and get out, but he goes insane and bloodthirsty. I like the idea that the rakyat were just taking advantage of his naivety and used him as a pawn so that he would be the one risking his life and not them. Jason could have been black, hispanic, really anything, as long as the island was a far cry from wherever he normally lives. Its just a white so cal guy in his 20s is the last person you would think to be battling for his life against pirates and slave traders on a tropical island.

Michael Mando is a good actor. I liked him as Vaas, I liked him as well as Ignacio "Nacho" Varga in Better Call Saul / Breaking Bad (not sure if he actually appear in BB, he might have been only mentioned by Saul)

@@arthenosthefirst8176 But isnt the story about an Outsider being changed by the island, to the point where the killing and the crimes he did on said island becomes a part of him and makes him question whether or not he has a place in his old society when he goes back? So it wouldn't make sense for the Main character to be a native to the island.

Well, it's not secret knowledge that ubisoft did not plan Vaas' character at all. The actor was so good that they made a character from scratch. Ubisoft writers think they can write a massive epic, but end up with stories slightly better than fanfiction.

Believe me, I think people give the game too much credit for Jason’s evolution into a mass murderer as “believable,” because it most certainly is not, the second the player gets the controller in his hands it’s over 😂 BUT it is a major part of the game’s story, and I don’t think it would be better without it

I like the fact you watch him go absolutely insane, he snaps after he kills his first pirates, and it further drives after riley dies, "one brother wasnt enough?!?!"

2 years late. but I believe that's why you play jason and not grant. because you EXPECT to play Grant. not Jason. Jason's a subversion on the typical protagonists in these types of games.

In the beginning, Jason is traumatized from his brother killing somebody in front of him. After the escape, he basically becomes John Rambo, mowing enemies down without a care. How much BS are we supposed to eat before we get a proper protagonist? Vaas is so annoying: "Look how crazy I am, because I'm crazy! Woot!" Give me a break.

I think there was a deleted section of the game where Jason accidentally kills his friend But they cut it out and instead had him 'sliced open' by vaas off screen

It only takes a 10-second knife fight to kill him. Most lackluster boss fights in this POS game I've ever played.

Not exactly. Citra, the Rakyat, *_even Dennis,_* truly believed Jason was meant to don the Tatau and lead them. Citra is even prepared to fuck you and kill you because she believes your child will be all powerful. If they had tried to kill Jason immediately after Hoyt died instead of making him sacrifice his friends, that would've been kinda cool. If anything, Far Cry 4 kinda gave us this exact Story. Except not only was AJ not a White Savior, it was even worse because no rational American would go from trying to spread his Mother's Ashes, into a Freedom Fighter. The Secret Ending isn't great just because of how surprising it is, but because of how *_accurate_* it is.

That's why I loved FC3, FC4 and FC Primal. You had incentives to become stronger and upgrade your personal abilities and equipment so that you could effectively deal with all types of enemies no matter what. It was deep and layered, yet still streamlined and accessible.

I enjoyed the skill tree a lot, especially the learning new takedowns as you go. I was very happy with FC4's skill tree and modertaely happy with FC5 (no takedown progression), and was super disappointed with FC6 taking the skill tree out of the game. The hunting and crafting mechanic I was never too fond of in FC3, but ended up enjoying it a lot in FC4.

Ngl after 5 I missed the crafting, made me do less in the game besides have to do all side quest to unlock everything by level, towers bored me, at least with 4 I used the small helicopter to get to the top

This! FC3 has so many great characters, funny, scary and exciting moments. Sure some of the plot points don’t land exactly but it’s an awesome ride!
