I think it's cool that all the way back then Scott told us what was in the box was "all the pieces put together" just like how William promised to put his son back together. And it took us years to come to the conclusion that there was actually a person inside the box.

So in short what basically happened was fans over-complicated a simple object by making it mean much more than it was meant to. The first story for the box actually seems pretty self-explanatory now that it’s explained, because some things, such as the bite and the victim, would be forgotten as to not carry on to bring suffering and sadness to the victim’s family. It makes a lot of sense and If I’m being honest I would be a lot more satisfied with that answer than the others, because it directly links to FNaF 4

Second day of rewatching all MatPat's fnaf theories, made some progress: episode 21

I just wanna mention something. it is a fact the lore really changed these years, but even so, the 5 keys story (as well as the kitten and orphans one) now fits EVEN BETTER. these 3 stories end saying that putting the pieces together didn't work, just exactly what happened in fnaf 6: Henry put every animatronic together, set them on fire and yet it ended up not working: molten became the blob, Afton survived and possibly Michael did too. conclusion: candy cadet is the best

I love how MatPat's voice sounds so excited to tell us all this stuff instead of being all monotone like a lot of narrators; makes it so much more interesting.

I honestly wouldn't mind what the actual truth is to Scott bringing out whatever is in the box. I just think it's fun to see how creative all these theorists were even if it wasn't true. I'm sad all the pressure seems to be getting to him.

I have a theory the 2 technicians from sister location are the shadow animatronicks in a phone guy tape he says two technicians were killed so the theory is that the funtime animatronicks stuffed the two technicians in rotten spring bonnie and fredbear suits so as they were mad at them they went to where the broken funtime foxy to endgame her. BUT THAT'S JUST A THEORY A GAME THEORY

My theory is that its the child’s body. If anyone remembers candy cadets stories he had that a man/purple guy had 1 coffin for 5 of the dead children and the first kid who died was in the bite of 87. Now I think purple guy has hid this child in this box and hid the rest in animatronics. Hope it’s an interesting theory!

Wait a minute I just solved FNaF I have a definitive story now. Henry and William are business partners. They create sister location, with Baby Ballora and the funtimes. William warns his daughter Elizabeth not to go near Baby, but she does anyway. Baby then opens up her stomach and kills her (as seen in the SL minigame). This causes it to be shutdown after only one day. Ballora doesn't seem to have pre recorded lines like the fun times, but more human-like dialogue like Baby. And, in the Freddy's survival guide, it shows a song sung by Ballora that leads us to believe she is the mother, Mrs. Afton. The SL animatronics are stored underground. After SL is shut down, Fazbear Entertainment buys out the other animatronic corporations, bringing Chica into the gang. FNaF 4 location opens and it leads to the Bite of 83. Crying Child, or Micheal, is dying as you play as him in FNaF 4. Psychic Friend FredBear is Cassidy. All of the animatronics in FNaF 4 are imaginary, but Nightmare, or Old Man Consequence, signifies death. When Mike dies, his father, William, promises that he will "put him back together." And he does, using remnant. The bite of 83 causes springlock suits to get discontinued. At some point around this time, Charlie is killed on her birthday and goes on to posses the puppet. William, Fazbear Entertainment's technician uses the Springtrap suit to lure four children to the safe room where he kills them. One of the four children killed, Susie, was lured by William because he killed her dog so he could experiment with Remnant (leading to mangle), and William told Susie her dog was alive and to follow him. The four deaths cause the location to be shut down. The four children go on to posses Bonnie, Freddy, Chica, and Foxy. Lots of time passes and then those four animatronics along with the puppet are moved to the FNaF two location for a new grand reopening. They are also there with Toy Chica, Toy Bonnie, Toy Freddy, and Mangle. All of those animatronics except Mangle are linked to a criminal database with facial recognition software trying to prevent murder. However, William strikes again and causes an investigation to take place. He was working as the day shift worker, but because of the investigation he flees and leave the position open. Jeremy Fitzgerald takes his place and is killed in what is known as the Bite of 87. Because of this bite, animatronics are no longer allowed to be able to free roam. The toy animatronics are scrapped, and the core four animatronics are brought to the original FNaF one location. Now William knows that the four are possessed and mad, so he tries to dismantle them in the safe room. But their spirits still live in without possessing animatronics, so William tries to hide from them using his murder suit, Springtrap. But in his panic, the springlocks fail, leading to Afton's death. Fazbear Entertainment tries to cover up his death by locking the safe room, leaving Afton inside of Springtrap. Remember this. Micheal then goes to SL in an attempt to find his sister, Elizabeth. He does, because she is stored in Baby. But, he gets himself scooped in the process. He then is filled with Enards, but survives because of remnant. However, his body decays. Turning him, quite literally, purple. It's here at sister location when he realizes how evil his father was, and the murders he committed. So he goes on a mission to free all the spirits inside the animatronics. At SL, he begins to plan the family reunion at a future pizzeria, so he sets Enard (who contains Ballora) free, along with Baby, his sister. He goes to the FNaF one location, where the core four still are and have been since FNaF two shut down. He tries to free the spirits, but is fired because of his odor (he's literally decaying) and because he's "tampering with the animatronics." He is also unable to free their spirits because the animatronics keep trying to kill him. Why? Because he looks just like his father. When Mike is at the FNaF location trying to free the spirits, Psychic Friend FredBear, or Cassidy, or Golden Freddy, tries to reach out to him. I'm not quite sure how Cassidy died, but it's not really important. Golden Freddy is a spirit, and not a physical animatronic, which is why he disappears and reappears almost like a hologram. Now, when you get your pink slip in FNaF two as Fritz Smith you are told that you were fired on your first day on the job because of "Odor" and "Tampering With the Animatronics." Coincidence? No. Mike IS Fritz, and he's going location to location to try and free the spirits. But he can't. They're trying to kill him because he looks like his dad, William. After failing at this, he tries to come find his father. Remember what I said earlier? He's still in the Springlock suit as Fazbear fright. So he goes to work as a security guard at Fazbear Fright. Afton, possessing Spring trap, keeps attacking him. To try and release his father's spirit, he burns the place down. However, Afton, who is now possessing Springtrap, is able to escape. However, this fire made the core four spirits to finally be released, because remember, overheating (aka fires) causes spirits to finally be laid to rest. That's exactly what happens, in the happiest day minigame. Now the only ones left to be laid to rest are Cassidy, Elizabeth (the Afton daughter), Ballora (the Afton mother), the puppet (Lefty is built by Mike to contain the puppet, which Lefty does), and William Afton. So Mike and Henry start this plan to put all of them in one place at the new and final pizzeria. In the salvage run where Mike salvages Molten Freddy (who is essentially Enard, containing Ballora), Baby, Springtrap (Afton) and Lefty (containing the puppet). Then, with help from Henry, Micheal burns the place down. Mike dies, and William goes to Hell. The Afton mother, the Afton daughter, and Charlie are finally laid to rest. This leaves one more: Cassidy. And finally, in the cutscene from Ultimate Custom Night, Cassidy speaks to Old Man Consequence. There she is told to stop fighting. That Micheal is dead, and she doesn't have to stick around for him. And so Cassidy goes, and she is laid to rest. And that's where the story ends.

I bet that MatPat was freaking out when Scott released Custom night.

This is one of my more favorite fnaf videos after 1&2. It does a solid job of making a lot of sense out of those first 4 games (4 in particular).

The FNAF 3 guard being the FNAF World person was actually the accepted theory here for like a year or so, surprisingly. That theory honestly still makes a ton of sense to me, with a bunch of random things, but I'm leaning towards Gregory being CC instead now; before Security Breach, I would've probably still been leaning Michael is CC.

okay so, in the wake of security breach, i think there's new box contents: it's gregory. Gregory is probably not a Regular Human Child but an animatronic version of the Crying Child/Bite Victim, created and brought to life using the Remnant of 5 souls (wether those 5 are all the Aftons or the 5 dead children, idk). this leaves the question of how he got out of the box, and into Glamrock Freddy's chest cavity before the game starts. Gregory trying to escape the pizzaplex continues the story thread in the racer minigame lore, he's escaping his father, william afton's 'house', after being shut away.
