Such a dark and twisted story of obsession and greed. Crazy how one guy made such a deep and well written story through very little besides the books of course. It’s a great use of environmental and visual storytelling with something so haunting. Now this is why they toned this down a bit in the movie because it’s way to dark and complex.

I personally think that it makes a lot of sense for Vanessa to be "possessed" by Elizabeth or brainwashed to stand in for her. It is speculated that Vanessa is the person in the Vanny suit. And as seen in Matpats videos, the suits that William first designed were made to be worn by humans and made out of cloth (not animatronics). Also, William always loved Bonnie the most since that was his first very own character. So it makes sense for Elizabeth (who wants to make her father proud) to choose a suit that is made using his method of making suits and that depicts a bunny.

The only issue I have with this storyline is the timeline (ironically) William Afton was alive around 1930s, and in here, Security Breach is set in 2030s. So unless Clara Afton was uncomfortably younger than William, She has to be around 100 years old if She's even still alive

I think Gregory's connection with Michael at the beginning of the game is what would make the most sense to explain why Gregory is going against the Aftons. It fits with Michael's character, because his goal has always been to destroy his father's work. And Glamrock Freddy actively helps you do so in Security Breach.

I don't disagree with you, but I will say that Michael didn't necessarily want to destroy his father's work, he did want to set things right. On top of this, Glamrock Freddy is very much not okay with Gregory destroying the other animatronics. He goes along with it, because Gregory stays quiet about it, and he kinda understands that what's done is done, that they can't do anything about it, and that this was the best chance of stopping his father and putting his friends to rest. Regardless, I like your thinking, and I don't want to disprove anything. I just wanted to share my viewpoint of it. Agree or disagree with me as you wish.

I’ve followed the games since the beginning and couldn’t really put my finger on when the story lost me but this timeline helped me figure it out. I think everything with Afton, the 80s diner, a serial killer etc. was perfect and creepy. All of that was lost for me when remnant and making human-like robots became a part of the lore along with dead bodies surviving for years without a skeleton and no one around them really mentioning it. I think it lost any type of believability the more futuristic it got. I think FNAF is best when it’s just playing on childhood fears of Chuck E Cheese.

As much as complicated the FNAF lore has always been, we should all still give respect that this one man has never given up on making us intrigued no matter what. Believe me if FNAF never happened, then MatPat would have never gotten the respect and passion he made to create one of the biggest phenomenons on not just Five Nights at Freddy’s, but gaming history in general. So MatPat I just want to say thank you for always never giving up on your theories and giving us so much interesting content that impacted so much over the years.

I think the reason the CEO seems to be against the afton virus escaping is because, as matpat points out, Mrs. afton wants the family TOGETHER which can't happen if William goes right back to murder the second he's revived, she wants the virus for herself NOT out in the world doing its own thing

@@Adokaythen 1, 3, and 4/World. The problem however is that, from what we know, pretty little HAS been retconned SL onward. Afton 100% was going to survive 6, as he survived 3 as well. Infact... 6 and UCN are simply the events of and leading up to 3 in reverse. William is trapped in Eternal Tormemt by Vengeful Spirits, until an Outside Force frees him. He escapes, and is burned. William is burned and trapped in Eternal Torment by a Vengeful Spirit, until an Outside Force frees him, he escapes. 6 includes doubt on Henry's notes on Remnant, that it MIGHT be destroyed by fire, or is at least affected by it. We know fire hasnt worked before, 3 and especially SL makes that clear. And if TOYSNHK IS keeping him alive, he wont die until their mind is changed, until they ALLOW him to die. Otherwise he'll keep coming back no matter what. And again, unless it's directly contradicted/confirmed, I'll stick with the Word of God on Mrs Afton's involvement...

I think it makes sense for Clara Afton to be the CEO of Fazbear's. A couple things I would say though is one, she would probably be in her 80s this point if she was significantly younger than William. If they were the same age, shes probably 100 at this point and that's insane unless she was injected with remnant. Now, the second thing is the bit with Elizabeth and Vanessa. You said Elizabeth would be a young woman at this point. No, she'd be 50 or older. She was at least alive in 1987 and this is 48 years later. So Vanessa doesn't work if you're wanting her to be similar to what Elizabeth should be now.

Not to discredit Scott's success but I think he owes it to Markiplier and Game Theory among MANY other content creators for FNAF's success. They helped make it go viral and certainly helped keep it that way. Which, is interesting because while there's been other smaller instances of this over the years before and since but this stands alone as the single biggest and longest viral video game phenomenon fueled by online content creation since. It's a SUPER interesting artifact of internet history.

Aftons wife - it just makes total sense. There is NOTHING to indicate she ever died, and it makes sense that she would've inherited most or all of the fazbear company stuff. In the last episodes of the timeline, I had come to a point where I honestly think Mrs. Afton was the one running everything for this newer FNAF. . I feel like you did actually answer why Mrs. Afton wanted to stop the FNAF VR project being that she likely isn't a monster like her husband was. She has a goal in mind and is working towards it but she may not want to subject more suffering to the world than what is necessary. Afton being let loose on a large scale would likely be horrific in terms of damages and she would also lose control over him to bring her family back together. The game was progressed enough that her husbands mind was "restored" and she would want to cut the project before it spun too far out of control.
