Because blue is the color of thinking things through and exploiting enemy weaknesses while red is charging at full speed, guns blazing. In a long term event such as a war blue is the winner. But in a temporary battle red wins.

thedredmanable In the America's Army games, no matter which side you were on or what your objective was, your team always appeared to you as military, and the enemy was always terrorists. Extremely well balanced as far as that goes, but plenty of other bugs to still break the games.

Mason Semrad because youtube judges( or at least used to judge) which videos to present to people first by how many likes people gave them. If there are more likes that means people want to watch it and it is better to present that stuff a page previous to less liked things. They want a serious thought put into the likes, not an impulsive push. would you actually recommend this to others or did you like the joke at the end. Not related but i think that's why the usernames on the comments are also blue. They want actual comments put in, not hazing and hatemail.

HPD I wish I had the game, but based on ***** , Yahtzee, friends, and my own meager amount of time with the game, I'd say it depends on your play-style. Are you the type to go in paintguns a-blazin'? Or are you the type to let the more bloodhungry members of the team do the killing while you just cover everything in paint? Former red, latter blue, if I'm understanding MatPat correctly. Or if you wanna skip all this mental stress, be whatever team and pick the Roller. I hear EVERYONE is a roller online ("rollerwhores" as my friend calls them), since they do both. Kekekek.

When I was in highschool we were the blue devils and our biggest rivals were a team that wore red. We dominated everyone and it was basically 50 / 50 with these guys. Very interesting. Looking back on my childhood, my favorite color was red and my older brothers was blue. He was always more calculating with his decisions where I was always more think it, do it, dominate it. Very interesting stuff! Loved the video! Nobody likes being on blue team for Halo. haha

About League, Red has disadvantages because because the UI is in the way and people are more comfortable from Blue side's viewing perspective because left to right mouse movement is reminiscent of writing in English. We view things from left to right as well, so coming from the right corner of the map is a disadvantage. Also, why would we gain the effects of red colors in a FPS when you see more blue than you do red? You only see your red arms, you see much more of their blueness than your redness.

Hypothetically, an easy fix to this should be to make it so that the player is always on the "red" team. AKA on your screen, your team is always red, and your enemies are always blue, but on your OPPONENT'S screen, YOUR team is blue, and THEIR team is red.

Athesiel Icosiel GTA V kinda does this, but makes your team blue and the enemy red, and vice versa. However, if games do this, I think there should be some sort of disclaimer because it does get pretty confusing if you're used to standard team colors.

Actually, the study was taken from the lcs, were all of the players play with an unlocked camera, making the difference in camera angles not exist.

thefanboy1928 incorrect, sir. If you unlock your camera and move down to give yourself equal view of the enemy's zone on red as they have on blue, you give you more view behind you, making yourself easier to gank, your escape is harder to keep track of. all in all, locked or unlocked your SA is reduced.

Good episode, but there is one thing that is just plainly WRONG (maybe because of a lack of research) In League of Legends, the blue team has an advantage because: 1. the map is not 100% symmetrical 2. the way you pick your characters is based on what side you play as (blue side picks first) 3. the CAMERA ANGLE is towards the RED side, so that when the camera is centered on your character you can see more of the RED side, so you have a way better overview of what's happening when playing as the BLUE team. oh and btw, the team colors are blue and PURPLE, not red :)

RIcky Kandle purple is a mix of red and blue so i guess it gives you agression and creativity at the same time. I already knew that the blue and red light had effects on us that's why i sometimes leave my window open so that when the morning comes the light makes me wake up relaxed, works everytime, but i didnt think that it could make difference like this in gaming

To everyone that thought this was about Rooster Teeths Red vs Blue it is still applicable to the teams in the show as well. Sarge wears red armor and is the most aggressive of all the characters, before the Freelancers were introduced. Simons although a follower is no slouch in a fight either, although he would probably be more comfortable on the blue team. Even Donut, in his lightish red armor, is actually very dangerous to his enemies in a fight. Caboose is a lot smarter (not exactly the right word) than he seems, with insights and understanding of things the other characters miss, when faced with a complex problem he always finds a solution, although it often makes no sense to anyone, including him. Church in light blue is a horrible shot but possibly the best actual strategist of the original characters. The other characters wear tertiary colors which are also suitable to their personalities to some extent based on some color theories. For example orange is often used by restaurants, and that is the color worn by Griff. In a way this is why most of the plot, drama and character development focused on the Blues, but when you wanted something physically wreaked the Reds did it best.

You know, this explains why in tf2 people always go for the red team. I guess I'm an oddity, though, because I tend to do better on blue team. I also join it about 90% of the time when given the option(favorite color and all).

mutilator97 There could actually be specific reasons why you do well on blue team in an FPS completely related to this video. You might be better at the classes in TF2 that require planning and preparing in advance. But more than likely it's entirely just because it's your personal preference for color and because you like the color you perform with that subconscious boost that you got exactly what you wanted.
