Charles being a giant spider that is using a train as a shell also makes sense from a biological standpoint. Some other invertebrae use larger objects as protective shells to protect themselves from predators, most notably hermit crabs. Charles just took this concept, but upgraded to a steel shell.

Put it to you this way: wasps lay their eggs on just about any bug they can, including spiders, and when they hatch, the newborn wasps eat their host from the inside out before bursting out like the iconic scene from Alien. Gus could be a giant wasp. A giant wasp would certainly scare a giant spider.

This theory really shows how the antagonist of a story isn't always the villain. Even though Warren is at direct odds against the goals of the player, he's not a malicious person who wants others to suffer. He's trying to protect everyone from the actual villain, Charles.

This actually supports what I was hoping to see in a possible sequel, we see many eggs in the cavern so imagine something based on boats, but there are 3 Charles, one is in the ocean in a submarine, one is on the surface being a boat, and one being a plane patrolling the air. I love this. This being the Head Editor Dan taking over the voice over. I love the idea of Theorists going the way of SciShow and getting a rotating group of VO. I don't know who else they could use, but Dan is great at it.

11:18 - 11:24 maybe the eggs were virtually indestructible instead? 13:01 - 13:05 correction: breaking the eggs itself doesn't make the charles stronger, it is by putting it in the magical prism (which sucks the life force out of them) that transforms & makes it stronger by using the energy from the egg's life force 14:09 - 14:24 I don't remember there being a note like that when i played but maybe i didn't find or notice it, it's definitely something to think about tho. Dan should be in more of the videos when MatPat needs a break , it gives Dan the attention he deserves and also can give MatPat a break when he needs it from giving us loads of great theories!
