My theory is that Jumpman and the Pauline from the original DK games actually had _3_ children: Mario, Luigi, and Pauline the 2nd. That would explain how Pauline can be both Jumpman's girlfriend in the OG games and Mario's damsel in distress in the modern games. To add even more to this, in the OG DK games, Pauline is wearing a pink dress and has orange hair, meanwhile Pauline in the modern games wears red clothing and has brown hair, adding to the idea that they're not the same person.

Since techinally these are closer to hypothesis. but on topic (and i'll use theory since thats what he uses) I think most people pointing things out aren't doing it wit venom. (though undoubtly some are. internet being the internet). Most are pointing it out to grow the theory and to hear feedback if possible. Thats how theories work you gain more perspective and more information and you redfine the theory. by pointing out things that people feel are missing it allows further research to be done on it. Most people are just listing points left out, they aren't insulting him. This is the process of theory/hypothesis development. Which given the name of his show, and his previous actions is exactly what he wants. A discussion on the topics presented in order to expand and grow thoughts. Hell this video's content was likely inspired by a few thoughts or points people ushed around for previous mario videos, tossed in Matt's brain through his and the other 2's more vast knowledege forming into this theory. Discourse brings forth ideas. While not all discourse is pleasent all discourse is useful for the creative process. It's just a matter of tuning and focusing it into something good. Which this youtuber is quite adept at. Of coursae the venmous messages are just stupid but there are thankfully few of those.

I mean, there is also the theory of the Starbomb song "Luigi's Ballad", that of Mario being an overly aggressive, in-your-face guy when coming on to Peach, while Luigi is a lot more noticably sensitive. Now, even though we don't hear from Daisy, we could simply believe the idea that Peach (who chooses Toad at the end), just wants something different for a change, but eventually gives in to her own thoughts of Luigi being a sensitive shoulder to cry on. In this timeline, we could also tack on the idea that Mario catches Daisy on the rebound, making these relationships all make sense.

And we know that SPM came after the first two Paper Marios because of that small pictures of the partners from the previous games. As for PMSS, in the Egnimansion,(I hope I spelled that correctly) when Mario turns around and sees the Boo, he gets freaked out. Which means that he has never seen a Boo before. And the Boo's first appearance was in SMB3. Which means that PMSS came before SMB3. But wait, Bowser JR is in the game, so that's impossible! SourceRabbit I haven't played the second yet, but I've read the comics before the launch. About the first one, which I completed about 3 times (them achievements) was kinda straight forward..... There are two "endings" the normal one where you complete all of the jobs and kill the mafia boss or whatever, and the other one, an alternative timeline where the biker survives the encounter with "you" the protagonist, searching for the root of those calls. If you collected the password ("iwasbornintheusa") you'll understand a lot about their practises. It's kinda stupid (it probably has a lot more to it) but they're just a bunch of nationalist psychopaths who targeted... psychopaths, to do they're dirty work. Now, how do they found the right guys for the jobs... and what compelled those guys to mass slaughter... I dunno. Maybe I'll understand in the second one.

Well no not really. The Mario in that game very well could be the same old pappy "Jumpman" we see in the old Donkey Kong games. The simple solution to the issue is that the graphics in those games are updated to modern specifications showing more detail and revealing to us how these characters would actually look outside of 8-bits. The continuity of the looks of the characters? Well it isn't uncommon for people to say that sons are the "spitting images" of their fathers so the striking resemblance between this "father" Mario and his "son" Mario from the later games is pretty feasible. But what about Luigi? Why doesn't he also greatly favor papa "Jumpman"? Well it could simply be that he takes more after his mother. You know, taller, but certainly the one who is the less brave and less heroic of the two parents. It's also possible that Donkey Kong's tie is passed down through his familt line as an heirloom, it would be a bit difficult for us humans to tell gorillas apart simply by looks anyway, so his resemblance to his grandson from the later games in the timeline is also feasible. This is one of MatPat's only Mario theory videos that I think is actually feasible and solid.

+hedgehog3180 Gorillas age differently then humans. Like how dogs age 7 years every one human year. 1 human year = 7 human years to dogs. They grow at a faster rate than humans. Same with Donkey King. So 15 for DK is in his prime the same time Mario might be. This fits a bit better if Mario is maybe a year or two older than Donkey Kong. So by the time Mario was an adult at 18 and in his or very close to his prime, DK was an adult maybe at about 10 or 11 reaching his prime at 15 and staying in that prime area for quite while. There's also the possibility that Mario might have been born a year older than DK which would help this theory, but even without that factor it still makes sense. DK being a gorilla ages faster than Mario.

Nice explanation. But can you also explain how the game that started the Mario vs. Donkey Kong franchise, fits into it. You see, Donkey Kong '94 shows Donkey Kong (with the tie) teaming up with Donkey Kong Jr, to kidnap Pauline (Actually, is it Pauline? I'd have to double-check for that game). Therefore proving that Donkey Kong Jr isn't Donkey Kong's father. More likely, it's his nephew, cousin, or even son.

Theories hold up against all currently available evidence, including other parallel theories. If two "theories" contradict each other, then one of them is actually a hypothesis.

faith bartlett well you have to consider that these are theories. theories aren't concrete, they're merely a point in the line to fact. as such they can change as new information or, in this case, new more plausible theories are brought to the table. also it doesn't negate all the theory, it does negate the adultery segment but not other parts that are still shown such as cruelty to family and animals (that part probably learned from the father). so mat may need to rework his original theory.

I couldn't exactly be as specific as the main man Matpat, but if all 7 emeralds concentrated can destroy Earth, that requires a certain amount of force. It's somewhere in the quadrillions of tonnes or so, I think. Then you just... divide that by 7 and work out how many tonnes of destructive force each emerald has.
