Since Undertale's release, one question has plagued the fan base - Just who is W. D. Gaster? And why don't I ever find this mystery man? I disagree. Asgore has killed a bunch of other kids just like you in the past, and obviously feels immense guild and grief over this. When Asgore nods to you telling him he's "killed you before," I don't think it's to imply that he's aware of Frisk being able to save/load. Rather i believe it's because he knows he's killed "you" before, "you" being a determined human child that fell into the underground. It's not really implied anywhere else he's aware of Frisk's ability.

@@lapras999yt2 I agree. To be honest I love the theory of Sans being Ness. I may have not played Earthbound, but I still respect it. While it's understandable disagreeing with that theory, it's just cruel hating someone who is simply posting a theory. He's just suggesting it, it's up to the person themselves to decide if they believe that theory or not. He's just really passionate about his work. no one should be faulted for that passion.

If there’s one thing I’ve learned my friend this is the sad and disgusting reality us a s people live in. We are criticized for what we like, what we do, and how we do things. The pope doesnt have a computer, I'm fairly certain, thus most people called Mat stupid for giving him that. A tree isn't a dumb gift, as it's a symbol of growth, and a symbol of life. The surfboard probably meant something to its giver. Am I saying that him giving the pope undertale was a good decision? No. He won't be able to play it. But, I understand he gave the pope the game because of the meaning it has to Mat. That's what I think the gifts are truly about.

When I heard his voice crack, I uh, really started thinking. He makes these videos for fun. And for people to come in and stomp on it, his favorite theory to say the least, that kinda cracked my soul a bit. I know some people are going to be like, "oh they're just being a weirdo to protecting someone they don't know!" And that's fine. But, me and my brother have been a fan of this channel since we've been very small, I know that doesn't change much. I just- I dunno. Sorry this was long.

Dude, bro Matt. You are an awesome dude. I may not always like your content (It's stupid to expect a person to like EVERYTHING you do) but you're a damn good person. You're passionate, you care about doing the right thing, and you care about other people. You make fascinating videos and glorious groan inducing puns. You are in the words of a certain cape wearing skelly, a "Cool Dude". Don't EVER let other people scare you away from doing a video you love. Yeah. He's really smart too. He makes these really intelligent videos that can also cover a lot of psychological topics in ways that can be helpful to understand them (Petscop theories, Smash lore theories, Link is dead theory, etc.) and educates us in physics and math as well (Hookshot theory, any of Austin's videos, etc.), without offending anyone. Too bad he has only half the sub count of a guy who makes his content off filming suicide corpses and smashing plates.

Honestly I think that MatPat was probs one of the best choices to represent America when interviewing the Pope. His channel is an amazing influence on others, and it supports critical thinking, which a lot of youtubers don't show with their 100 layer challenge videos, and their I bought a ridiculously expense item videos. And that care for critical thinking showed in his gift, and in the interview itself. I just want to say sorry for all the hate you got, because it's obviously unjustified, and I also wanted to thank you for representing America and the gaming community well, and being such a positive influence on this platform.

Mat doesn't deserve all the hate he gets in these videos. I've watched all of his videos and hearing him for him, makes me feel like I can take on my problem. I try not to talk about things that bother me as much as I should. And how he just dose. That inspires me to be me. And any true Game Theroy fan, will agree that he is so fun to be around and helps make peoples day.

People are awful sometimes. But the point of the game is to show that sometimes, communication- not isolation, is what helps to save lives. To literally save the world. So people that threw hate and slander at you for exploring Undertale's story with your RU-vid community and even the Pope literally only reinforced the strength of the game's narrative. Thank you MatPat for being determined enough to continue ;)

I love how MatPat opened up to us, his subscribers, and told us what's been bothering him lately. It's very uncommon for RU-vidrs to share those types of things with their subscribers, and I'm happy MatPat told us about it.

I'm so disappointed in humanity right now, why would anyone hate him for something so childish and uncanny? He didn't do anything wrong, and, from no matter what perspective I try to look at this situation from I can't see any reason why *_ANYBODY_* would hate on MatPat. All this hate and negativity they're giving MatPat just because of a video? I can't express how I feel in words. I am enraged.

Doge, I agree. I haven't been a Loyal Theorist for very long, but I can tell MatPat really cares about us. It's refreshing to see a RU-vidr open up with their problems and concerns. And I am so glad that the hate hasn't stopped him from doing Undertale theories because I love them!
