Ash was an incredible part of the team, so much so that her tenure with PS Access felt like it went by very quickly. That said, Rob has led Access for a very long time and in recent years it's been easy to forget just how talented and charismatic he is, and always has been. Superb hosting, Rob!!
Doesn't feel right does it? I mean, I know there were podcasts without Ash before but knowing she has left, it just hits different. Like you say, Rob does a great job, though. Knew he would do a good job but it's gonna take some getting used to there only being 3, for the time being at least.
PS Access has always been my comfort channel. ❤ Still grieving Ash's departure but I love you guys somuchos! The worlds that had heavy influences on me creatively were Spira (FFX), FF8 and Bushido Blade 1&2. 😂😅❤
Dave is the one who sold me on Midnight Suns back when it came out, been singing it’s praises ever since. The game is one of my favourite modern games, big time recommend
The world I'd love to see in a video game is Discworld. I know we had the point and click adventures in the 90s, but a full sandbox RPG in Discworld would be glorious.
Really good podcast, thoroughly enjoyed it. I rate highly a game's ability to magically transport me to another time and place so thank you for covering this topic. Red Dead Redemption II was fantastic for this (and I'm currently replaying it now) along with The Witcher 3. Early on days in Assassin's Creed with Ezio were amazing at this also.
I like what Dave said about owning a spaceship. The ability to walk about it and explore it sounds great. This is what i would like to see in No Man's Sky someday.
I really enjoyed the sign off from Dad-Rob. Next time I'm hoping for the full "Behave yourselves, put a jumper on - it's a bit nippy out, and here's a fiver (don't tell your mum)"
Some of the video game worlds that I've been to that have been incredible are Elden Ring's the lands between. As soon as I left the tutorial area and entered Limgrave, I knew I was in for something special. The other areas like Raya Lucaria and Caelid look great too. Some other worlds that I've enjoyed visiting include Skyrim from the fifth Elder Scrolls game and Sevastopol Station from Alien Isolation.
That is an absolutely brilliant shout from Rob. Having a futuristic Dark Souls game set in a game world similar to the Callisto Protocol would be fantastic!
I remember (and loved) Lego Lord of The Rings, I would love a full on, serious, open world RPG that plays through The Hobbit and LoTR. Probably 3-4 disks of content 😂
great sound design, great lighting and dynamic weather are things that I love in games when they’re done amazingly (physics a nice addition too but I’ve a weakness for great dynamic lighting lol)
I am playing Dragon's Dogma 2 with a warrior with an archer as my main pawn. The PS Access pawns are level 8 (or were when I played!) and are SO useful early on in the game. My little level 3 guy hired Ashen and Rosie for our party. I eventually had to swap them out when I got to higher levels and really needed a healer, but it was really fun and helpful - also they don't cost any rift malarkey so you get great assistance in the early game for freeeeee! Thanks for the helping hand guys!
Game worlds that really pulled me in, for very different reasons: 1: Dark sould 1 (that moment when you realise almost every path leads back to firelink is goosebumps) 2: Subnautica (it's as beautifull as it is terrifying and while your playing this game you will not be thinking about anything else ever. It completely pulls you in regardles if you want to or not. ) 3:Horizon zero dawn (first time playing I was pure escapism. I never felt as at home somewhere in a game as there. The magic of the combination of the beautifull lush world, giant majestic robots and the ruins of the metal world and hight tech cauldrons just made this world feel unique and wonderfull.) 4: Journey (there was something spiritual almost about traversing this world. It seems like such a simple world, and it is, but its done so well you cant help but be in awe. Its hard to explain exactly why it pulls you in so strongly, but it does.)
I’m so glad this podcast is continuing, even after Ash. She will be sorely missed, but I have complete faith the other hosts will do an awesome job at it as well! Thanks so much for keeping this format going. I, for one, am very much looking forward to many more cozy hot beverage breaks, listening and watching you guys talk about video games and other real life flesh people stuff. 🩵
Speaking of fantasy I have been replaying Skyrim again. With about 100 mods. What a game. The music. The exploration is unmatched. Also going to play Forbidden West on my new pc. I already played on my ps5. Looking forward to that as well.
Sad to see Ash leave Access, however i have always thought the Pod works better with 3 people when someone was off on holibobs etc... Another great episode 👌
I thought Bioshock Infinite was earlier than 50's so I checked and B1 (Rapture) takes place in 1960, but was built in the 40's. Columbia (infinite) takes place in 1912. If anyone else was curious...
Thanks so much Access that the wonderful Podcast is continuing after the amazing and talented Ash left Access. Rob as host is such a brilliant choice. Hearing Rob talk about Dark Souls in space sounds like a incredible and interesting idea.
I could count amazing settings forever. Faerun, Tamriel, Lands Between, Fallouts post apocalypse, Horizons post apocalypse, the Oldest House, Dunwall and Karnaca of Dishonoured, Yarnham, Night City and on and on and on. Games are unparaleled when it comes to settings
Rob you can rent cinemas out for gaming. 😊 Years back I used to work for a certain cinema chain and some of the sites after their staff meetings used to have pizza and hook up their consoles for some games. Since the projectors were being changed to digital its easy enough to do. Sadly our manager didn't let us do it 😂
Wasn't there really a case though in which a bird was a witness? Of course not like in Ace Attorney, there was no cross examination of a parrot, but I vaguely remember something about a bird that had been present at the crime scene and that, while acting pretty calm around other people, absolutely freaked out whenever it saw the culprit.
You know in previous podcasts, where one of the team wasn't present... this is like the one single impossible combination. Watching it is like some spooky dream. Great though. 👍
Probably the best audience to ask this : Can you play Dragon’s Dogma WITHOUT using the online Pawn system and just play with your single created Pawn ? 🤔🤔 I only ask because I’ve seen people revisit DD : Dark Arisen preparing for DD2 and it’s peaked my interest as I enjoy open world single player character creation games. Would like honest answers / recommendation. 😁😁👍🏻👍🏻
@@PlayStationAccess Firstly, it’s an honour to receive a reply from the Access team itself.😱😱 Secondly, thank you for the clarification. Even though I don’t own a PS5 (yet) I’ll most definitely look into buying Dark Arisen on PS4.👍🏻👍🏻😁😁
Originally played in 1997, and have played the remake, but because of Dave i must venture back into Gaia. Question for Rob , what are your plans for Metal Gear solid remake? I cant imagine the escapades that will happen, return of solid snake Rob. If they have an online version will your nemesis return?
Im finally gonna play Forbidden West on pc now, cant wait. Will wait for Dogma 2 to get optimized a bit and besides i still need to finish BG3, im just about to finish it, beat Raphael yesterday, what a fight
#Podsquad What is the best thing a pawn has said to you in Dragon's Dogma 2? My pawn told me that I am still the best master out of all those she served under.😳🥴💗
Yes Dave. Great shout. I also want to explore Mos Eisley, have a poke around and get to know the place. It’s what Hogwarts Legacy allowed up to do. I also wish to do the same with Rivendell.
I’m sad to see Ash go, but everytime I start a PlayStation access video and it’s Rob’s voice I become elated and that has been happening more often lately.
There's a Euro Truck Simulator and an American Truck Simulator. There should be an Aussie Truck Simulator. Not enough games are set in Australia (or I don't know of any anyway).
Transported us hmmm.....as a middle aged guy i must say games from PS1, PS2, xbox, n64, gamecube and dreamcast transported me more than any other games.
You say that nobody has been in the tombs in Tomb Raider for hundreds of years, but someone left all those health packs and ammo lying around, so clearly someone else has been there since, they were just clever enough not to set off all the traps that elephant feet Lara Croft always sets off.
